I just realized something if you change a few things in the storytelling it's actually pretty easy do make the empire of man the good guys , in comparison to the dark eldar the orcs and the tyranids and of course chaos

Picard and Sisko in 40k: Righteous contempt for imperial barbarity, an hour later traumatized by said barbarity after actually taking more than a glance at the local situation, three hours later detected by imperial sensors either mechanical or psychic and confronted by imperial space assets, 5 minutes after the confrontation the Enterprise crew has been disabled with contemptuous ease by a single psyker and the ship is being boarded to capture the crew for interrogation.
