#DecadeInFilm
A NOTE FROM THE EDITOR:
This was a labor of love, and I did my best to incorporate as many films as I could, across a wide range of genres, years, and budgets. That being said - I’m sure many of your favorites didn’t make the cut. A lot of MY favorites didn’t make the cut. It would be impossible to give a nod to every great (and not-so-great) movie over the decade. So even if your favorites didn’t make it, I hope you enjoy this trip through the last ten years. Also, to save you some work, below is a full list of the movies in this supercut. Thanks for watching!

This brought back so many good memories for me. Thank you Dan!
Awesome work Dan, this video was like a love letter to the decade.
Where the hell is Frozen? And Frozen II
This edit makes me feel as if there are no bad movies. Great work
Putting Deadpool after Green Lantern was a god-tier move
Also the wolf of wall street after the revenant

The “X” at the end was perfect for both the emotion and for the X representing 10 years.
And the end of X-men
Actually the decade will end in 2021
Decade started in 2011 and will end in 2020

@@mahamanava9658 It depends on how you count it. There are two main methods of counting decades in recognition. The first method, counting ordinally, counts decades starting with the first year 1 CE (For example, the years 1981-1990 is referred to as the 199th decade or the 9th decade of the 20th century), while the other, counting cardinally, groups years based on having the same digits (For example, the years 1980-1989 is referred to as the 1980s, or commonly known as the eighties).

To Editor Dan Murrell: This video is so beautifully crafted, the attention to detail is mind boggling. The choice of sound and the way you lined up the shots just made this video so much better. You took 10 years worth of films from every genre and multiple countries, from blockbusters to infamously terrible movies, movies in black and white and animated features, and encapsulated it all into one genuinely amazing video. Thank you, this was a gift to the eyes.
I agree with you. I also would recommend checking out another video called "A Decade in Film" by Callmesewer. It's also incredible.

I lost my grandpa , fell in love with cinema and gaming , made great relationships , grew closer to all family and friends , started taking responsibility and finished school and went to college . I became an adult . Thank you for this . I so hope I could relive the 2010s and start over again .

😭 Thank You Dan for giving us 11 minutes to remind us that we’re all film fans. The cinema is like my second home. Aahh... 2010s, goodbye, old friend. Thank you for accompany me through these hard times...
This can make a grown man cry 😢
That "Take her to the moon" scene drop that tear in my eye
I'm intrigued but confused. You're the second person to reference that, so I assumed it was a line/scene from a movie. (I didn't finish watching the montage because it loses a lot of only when one hasn't seen almost any of the movies included.) Googled the phrase to find out what movie it was from, so that I wouldn't bother you with something I could look up for myself, but all I find is that it's the name of a song. What am I missing here?
@@tejaswoman it's an amazing and emotional line in "inside out". Well worth watching if you haven't!
Do you guys think making me cry is cool?? Lol. That last “take her to the moon for me” got me. Amazing edit!
I'm crying right now because of it
AMEN!
Everyone keeps citing that one. What is it from? I tried Googling it so as not to ask people something I could find out for myself, but all I found was that it's a song title.
@@tejaswoman It's from a Pixar animated movie called Inside Out. If you haven't watched it yet, I recommend you see it as soon as you can.
tejaswoman the “take her to the moon for me” quote or the “do you think making me cry is cool” quote?
It’s a travesty to have this showcase of editing interrupted randomly by ads.
You have to teach the TH-cam algorithm that you refuse to watch ad-laden videos. I don't ever get videos inter cut with ads anymore. And I really do believe it's because I exit every single one and/or reload the page until I get the desired uninterrupted video.
Adblocker and you never deal with it again
You can skip to the end and press the replay button. I think that works. But I didn't get any ads.
I know this is old news, but I have to add my support to this. I lost my mind when that happened.
Oh unlucky dude mine had no ads lol

I really love how this video doesn't exclude any movie genres. There is no shaming of any types of movies. Blockbusters, comedies and animation films are right next to french and korean arthouse, and you don't get to see THAT very often. I'm starting film school next week, and this video keeps reminding me why i decided to go in the first place.

Them: “Hollywood has run out of good, original movies!”
Me: *this montage*
You do realize a good bunch of these movies have not come out of Hollywood right?
Many great movies from this (great) list don't come from Hollywood. Independent studios and auteurs are the ones bringing a breath of fresh air and originality into this decade.
And a bunch of them have. Scrolling through the list of the movies in Screen Junkies' pinned comment, the vast majority are English-language movies that got a wide release in US theaters (which is what most people really care about and are referring to when they say "Hollywood"), and I'd say most (but definitely not all) of the movies are good.
haha people who always make this comment are typically the most unoriginal people on the internet
@@nolaffinmatter a lot of the Hollywood ones are remakes or franchises though 🤔

Having looked at the list, I'm kind of glad I'm me and not you. I'm sure you enjoyed them, at least I hope you did, but most of the movies I see on that list that I haven't seen (at least, up until the final set, which I think contains a lot of good ones), there's a reason I haven't seen them. 🤣

Beautifully done. I don't watch nearly as many movies as I used to, but love of movies is a generational gift in my family.
