Yes clippers are faster but it's not as precise as you want it to be unlike professional shears/scissors. I hate using clippers for cutting sides. This guy is a pro. Doesn't need clippers.
I'm curious to know, were the thinning sheers used throughout as a way to help with strong growth patterns, so that it wouldn't be difficult to manipulate the hair backwords?

Henri it's the look the client was obviously going for! If someone comes to you and asks for a very slick style with lots of hold, gel is the only product to go for, I never take clients seriously who don't know a thing about hair, but think they do
