    Wow I really love your setup. I wanted a crosstour for doing the same as you with my gf but the wheel wells/ rear shocks are so wide inside that it doesn't allow for two people to be side to side ... So I picked up a Subaru Outback. But I love the looks of the crosstour. Put a push bar and some hella lights on the roof rack and some beefy tires and you have yourself a great rally car :D

      Thank you my friend!!
      The wheel wells do take up a lot of space,that’s one of the downsides of the Crosstour.
      I do plan on adding a 2 inch lift kit and some A.T tires in the future ,so far it has handled off-roads with zero problems,it’s a fun car to drive both on and off road,I can see how it would be a great rally car, downside is,it’s not stick shift. I
      Am also working on a custom skid plate for the engine bay .

    NICE I want to do it for mine but I wanted it more for stealth in the CITY

    • @sonofamountain2862
      @sonofamountain2862  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      For more stealth you can’t do the solar panels,so you would have to use the alternator to charge the battery,which is very possible but it just wastes more gas.

    Looks good! I am looking to buy a crosstour to do camping with it. I did not know about the eco thing you were talking abuout...I will go check your other videos. Thank's

    • @sonofamountain2862
      @sonofamountain2862  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      So this vehicle comes with permanent eco mode,and that means you have no option of turning it off,so the vehicle only uses the 6 cylinders when you increase the speed,for passing cars and ect.
      But in the long run the constant change from 4 cylinders to 6 cylinders completely destroys the engine,so what you need it’s called a VCM modification,VCM stands for variable cylinder management,it’s literally plug and play,super easy,and I highly recommend it as soon as you purchase your vehicle.
      The car has a lot more power now, the VTec motor has been fully unleashed.
      Good luck and thanks for checking out this video.

    How do you make money while camping out of your car? Or do you save before each trip

      @@sonofamountain2862I’m in a sprinter now but started out in a crv and you make me miss those days. Especially where (I think) you’re located. So many places to go.
      Yesss!
      I hope to meet you somewhere midway✌️

    Love your videos! Have a Yaris at the moment and we're looking to update to a crosstour since honda accord engine is so reliable. Was wondering if it would be a good option to sleep 2 in the crosstour compare to a CRV or a Rav4. Would you be able to sleep 2 person ?

    • @sonofamountain2862
      @sonofamountain2862  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ouchylon6612 thank you my friend,you could sleep two people in the back but it will be kind of tight in my opinion,the crv has way more room then the crosstour and the Rav4.
      Now when it comes to reliability,they are all great and dependable vehicles.

    Do you miss the fuel economy of the Yaris?

    • @sonofamountain2862
      @sonofamountain2862  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I do miss the fuel economy of the Yaris,but I don’t miss the lack of power going up massive mountain ranges,it was scary in some places.
      With the crosstour I haven’t had that issue,this thing has so much power I don’t even know what to with it.
      I suppose there’s always a sacrifice no matter what you pick.

    • @sonofamountain2862
      @sonofamountain2862  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That car served me well,but it was lacking power going up steep mountain ranges, and I was very limited to where I could go cause it was a two wheel drive,I needed a 4 wheel drive so I could explore new places.

    Are the roof crossbars OEM? I have a 2010 CT and have been having a lot of trouble tracking down a compatible roof rack

    • @sonofamountain2862
      @sonofamountain2862  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The roof crossbars are OEM yes.
      They came with the car when I purchased it.
      But I think Hondapartsnow.com sales it.

    What's the mpg? Im also looking at a 2010 Crosstour same spec and color as this.

  • @BrianDoherty-e8s
    @BrianDoherty-e8s ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This is the way to camping. With gas prices at $5 you get good mpg getting out to the desert on the pavement. A lot of those fully built out overlander Jeeps can't afford the trip out anymore.

    • @sonofamountain2862
      @sonofamountain2862  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t know the exact MPG am averaging right now,but i didn’t have any gas stations out in the desert and I drove around and all over and still had half a tank.
      Jeeps are great off road vehicles but they are known for having terrible MPG,and when you add all that weight from camping gear they really can guzzle some gas.
