Late April I saw Amanda perform here in town... small venue, sold out. It was great. She's got quite a repertoire of gut wrenching songs herself. Then, early August, we were able to see Jason, down by the river on a beautiful evening... he mentioned the sunset a couple of times. This was just a mile from where I'd seen Amanda (got her sig on a show flyer as well). Jason said the town was special to him, he was always glad to be here. He sang Cover Me Up. They're a special couple, both so talented, and right for each other. But they both have major ups and down. The dress tearing bit always make me wince, a bit moreso I think living here in Richmond.
This music is so hauntingly beautiful he could have been singing about dish water and it would still be one of the most beautiful sounds I've heard in years❤️
I met my husband for the first time in Nashville and after we ate supper for our first date he took me to a place he knew on the Percy Priest that we could sit and let our feet dangle in the water...that was in 2000 - He passed away Dec 14 2017 so that is a great memory of us talking by the Percy Priest.
Saw him in concert in Ithaca,N.Y. in February, this song blew me away. The depth of his voice was amazing,I am a sucker for a good love song, this one hit hard.Stripped raw instrumentally, strong lyrics from a powerful voice. All you need
Michael Shepard - if you ever see this comment, just know, when we were young you were the first man I ever deeply and emotionally loved. And if you ever gave me another chance, I promise to try my best to make you smile everyday. To make you feel happy and comforted and loved. I loved you once before, many years ago. And now that we’ve grown up and we have wrinkles, I feel like for some reason I could love you again. I can’t shake the feeling that maybe you could be everything I asked the universe for. Come find out if I’m a good match for you too.
You made this Morgan Waller song your own, I got the feeling you'd lived every word as if it were your own. I love this cover you did better. Kinda like Nine Inch Nails Hurt covered by Johnny Cash, Cash version is my fave. He made it his own. ♥️
Lol, Little bit backwards This is not a Morgan cover song. "Cover Me Up" written and performed by Janson Isbell back in 2013 so it kinda is his song. Morgan's version is a cover of Jason's
Rotflmao……sometimes if your this uninformed it might be better to stay off of social media. This is Jason’s song from the experience, to the songwriting, to the singing, and the passion. Wallen is nothing more than a glorified karaoke singer.
Hollo uncle happy good morning God bless you with you all my friends👬, what to you😭❤💔 my favorite you all my friends are you what going on only you😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭this song my dad die for my friends dad now my dad die for dinner and God bless you😭❤💔 with you say good bye bye my lovely❤ sorry for yourself
here,s the last verse......This song so bad it making me sad,i can,t listen no more, Please show me the door, and I won,t come here no more, ,Every body sing........This song so bad it,s making me sad, Please show me the door....etc,...etc
+John Bertram on this recording another man is singing with and it sounds like Ryan Adams. if you look at TH-cam they performed together why I said it...
I like Jason's better, it's less country, his gravely bluesy voice, and listening to it ,gives the impression he lived out every word, yet not his words. Really tho, there's no comparison. Each artist made the song their own.
He can't convey the love and passion and pain that this man does because he didnt live it. He didn't write it. Morgan Wallen has a beautiful voice, I like his version because of his voice but it doesn't come close to this.
A poetic story that leads the listener in a shade of mystic truth! Could easily place it in the same room as "field of stone"....🤔🥺😎
I get choked up after 500 times listening to this song.
All that,
AND I've sung it in Karaoke 100 times trying to perfect my copy!
Damn the best songwriting I’ve heard in decades. I’m 68 in January

I think is one of the greatest love songs that has ever been written💖
This music is so hauntingly beautiful he could have been singing about dish water and it would still be one of the most beautiful sounds I've heard in years❤️
This might be the best song ever written!!!
I keep saying that after listening to every of his songs
if anyone is wondering J. Percy Priest Lake is a reservoir in north central part of Tennessee.
Spent four years watching the sunrise there rowing for Vanderbilt. A beautiful place when the sun rises.
Thanks lol was wondering

I was wondering. Thank you!
Best song of this generation. 🇨🇦
No talk back. 🏴☠️
Truly amazing song. I hadn't heard before today and I love it.
Where did you hear it? I wake up every Sunday morning and stream 101.9 Kink FM Sunday brunch. They don't play these types of songs during the week.
Such an amazing song. I just never get tired of it

I thought I was the only person that noticed.
AUSTIN City Lights was better than recorded. Still amazing. Better than the stolen version. Maybe the best song writer around.

Yes. Jason Isbell wrote this song. Morgan Wallen covered it.
😂 I thought the same thing until I seen another cover of this song and I looked this guy up and wow he has an amazing voice glad I looked 😍

Morgan WalleN.
I love you Angie
Stones should be capitalized bc it's a river south of Percy Priest Dam and Lake
Chad Thanks . That really helps those of us not from there understand.
@@ChereeDawn fun fact the Stones River part that runs near Murfreesboro is a Civil War battlefield - the imagery fits that he's willing to fight

Is this Ryan Adams version???
no, not that I know off
+Imaginary Love maybe he's sing in harmony
+Matthew Logsdon his wife is singing harmony... Jason Isbell wrote and sang this song for his wife
+John Bertram on this recording another man is singing with and it sounds like Ryan Adams. if you look at TH-cam they performed together why I said it...
+Matthew Logsdon it's 100% Jason Isbell wrote and sung by Jason Isbell
Morgan Wallen sings this song so good! I love his version the most!
Must gotta wax build up in your ears then. Should get that looked at
jeff black it’s a personal opinion. Maybe you should go get your ears checked because I don’t remember me asking where I gave a fuck about yours
@@atljbb85 nah. I agree with her.

I think Morgan Wallen sings it better. The song is amazing.

I like both but I didn't know this guy is the original singer till today
It's an okay cover. I like Morgan Wallen's original version better.
morgan covered this, not vice versa
Not only did Jason record this first, he actually wrote this. Get your facts right, my guy
@@vincentreyes6154 Fake news.

Go listen to Luke combs and FGL. Your ears are obviously more in tune with bs pop country
