What vehicles are you hoping to see in this season of Century 21 Tech Talk?
Since it appears we’re going through pod vehicles, let’s go for stuff like The Firefly, The Elevator Cars and the DOMOs
Fireflash, Gee its such a great aircraft. Seriously though its like a cruise ship for the sky and such a gorgeous looking airframe, especially for its size
I wonder how much information is available about the alien UFO'S?
The proposed Skylon spaceplane looks so much like an evolution of Fireflash.
The Magnetic Grabs have always been a fave of mine.
It was always a treat to see the Mole in a rescue operation. Ideally International Rescue should use it for everything. Fire? Mole. Flood? Mole. Meteor? Mole. Alien zombie attack? Darn right the mole.
The Mole, the true Thunderbird 6. 👍
Then what does that make the biplane Thunderbird 6?
The vehicle also incorporates an Airfix girder bridge, which is not only sturdy but inexpensive and readily available, should Brains need to conduct an overhaul.
Is the mole is needed for Cross-rail?
If I had to choose, City of Fire would definitely be my favourite episode. The Mole, Firefly and what I always though of as the most realistic looking destruction of any of the other episodes. Something about that shot of the fire tenders getting showered in sparks as they evacuate the area is so brilliantly executed and believable.
As a kid I always wanted it to be the Mole that Thunderbird 2 would pick up.

Cool rig, loved the series as a kid. Very inventive by Gerry Anderson.

YAAAY!!!! Tech Talk is back. This is such a great series & you always learn some new info on you're favorite vehicles. I always did wonder what those nose cones were on the front of The Mole. A rarely used piece of additional equipment, in the show, the Firefly usually blasted any debris out of the way for The Mole.
If The Mole is refereed to as Thunderbird 6, does that mean the Firefly is Thunderbird 7?!!!!!

CONFIRMED: The Mole IS Thunderbird 6!
I have a feeling that the Mystic Cave Zone boss (specifically the small side drills) in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (1992) was specifically a reference to the Mole. They have the weird flange at the base of the drills, the side tracks, and the yellow-with-red-stripe color scheme.

Ah, no wonder I could never put together which pod it would roll from as a kid! It was just "often" in 3 or 5. Dang, I thought each different pod number denoted a different machine! Nor did I know that Brains designed them all himself.
heres a run down for ya! Pod 1: jet air transporter & neutralizer tractor, Fire Truck, Monobrake (which wasn't used in an episode), Pod 2: Magnetic Grabs, Fire Fighting Foam Bombs Pod 3 Firefly, Mole, Elevator Cars, Domo, Mobile Crane, Magnetic Clam, Boost Mortar (Thunderizer) Pod 4: Thunderbird 4, Mole (that was a serious error), Air to air rescue compartment Pod 5: Recovery Vehicles, Laser Cutter Unit, Fire Fighting Elevator, Anesta half track and caravans, BR2 Race Car, Excavator Thunderbird 6 , Mole (but was not seen or shown) Pod 6: Firefly, Monobrake Transmitter truck, Laser Cutter Unit (but wasn't used) also all pods except for pod 4 had a lab at the back of the pod

I didn't know the Mole could work underwater. I guess the drill and rear engine work as forward propulsion. Its official the Mole is Thunderbird 6.
As the first footage shows, the Mole has been transported in Pod 4 (check the sign on the pod interior)
Well spotted I have not seen that before I thought only TB4 used that one
@@cedarcam well, in Attack of the Alligators, all dialogue points to Pod 6 being used, though when you see the pod being opened, the number on it is 4, which makes sense given that TB4 was used.
@@darthdmc It does as TB4 could not use any other pod. I just re watched the Tech Talk on TB2 and it does not say about pod 4 having other uses but sounds like it is the only one that has buoyancy That would help if the landing ground was marsh land.
@@cedarcam the only answer is that the prop guys overlooked the sign on the interior for that episode. Must have thought that it wouldn't get noticed.
@@darthdmc LOL Yes thats the most likely explanation. I have seen a few things that got through. It must be hard to keep track of everything during filming as episodes were all made in bits while a certain set was in use. The first few had been made as 1/2 hour then Lew Grade said he wanted them an hour long, so a new script had to be written in to extend them, in some episodes you can see where things had been changed between the takes TB1 HFC label on Scots seat for instance the magically appears

I was always worried that the random and seemingly pointless two bladed propellor at the front of the drill would break off every time it drilled through anything harder than sand.
I don't dislike Jon Culshaw's Jeff Tracy voice, but hearing Jeff in such clarity just doesn't feel right to me ^^;

Why is Thunderbird 4 a Thunderbird and the Mole is not? I've always wondered this
TB4 can reach disaster areas itself, albeit slowly. The Mole can't :)

Thunderbird 4 can’t reach a scene by itself either. It’s needs to be deployed by Thunderbird 2 because it’s too slow to swim there on its own.
@@qasimmir7117 it has the ability though, so if there was a water emergency within range of Tracy Island it could make it in time without TB2s help. It also got to New York without an airlift, something the Mole for example couldnt have done.

For me. I've always felt that the Mole or the Firefly was Thunderbirds 6 and 7.
@Ian Turner Thunderbird Shadow is definently Thunderbird 6. And was one of Brains model's in the Thunderbird 6 movie. And the Zero XL should've been named Thunderbird X. It's literally made up of all 5 Thunderbirds.

@@Mythbuster3808 david graham is still alive but he may be on his last legs sean connery who voiced scott tracy is still alive the second voice for virgil tracy is still alive plus a few others but not many left
@@Powerlinx88 Connery passed away last year, never voiced Scott. Shane Rimmer who voiced Scott passed away in 2019 and Jeremy Wilkin, second Virgil, a few years earlier.

God, it looks so cheesy in closeup. I still loved it as a kid but it's my least favorite of vehicles. Thunderbird 2 rocks, followed by Thunderbird 4. Gotta love Brains though.
