Yeah I think this is what a lot of people don't understand. Drag Race is a big STEP in most of the queens' careers by getting more gigs, raising their booking fees, selling merch, etc. If you get to show that you're talented, fun, and likeable, it is still a "win", and I think Amanda did that.
Amanda already is gonna be a better reception character. Q they've shown to not be able to dance , complain abt 2nd place and clearly lose her lipsync but get saved. Whereas people know Amanda and her looks are crunchy but they root for her and love her so Amanda is gonna come out with better reception so Q staying a little longer will help her with that loosey laduca edit she's working on

I guess Violet Chachki, she was portrayed as the villain and won, but that's about it. (Though if people were right about Pearl being the producers favourite, perhaps Violet may have not been able to win if not for that freak reaction from rupaul off of one comment Pearl said back, who knows really, waiting for that huge RPDR leak one day) As far back as my short-term memory goes, Daya Betty, Mistress Isabelle Brooks, Silky Nutmeg Ganache, and many others who were portrayed as villains get far, sometimes top three or four, but that's it. The producers are keeping Plain for drama and engagement, until they crown the real winner: Nymphia Wind.

I know Q was mostly saved by her track record, but honestly you can see the difference in her lipsyncing when her place in the competition was threatened, she gave a better performance compared to the one in the 1st episode, and that was something I really enjoyed watching. If the track records are close or even then whoever does better in the lipsync wins but if the track records are worlds apart like Q and Amanda's are then Amanda needs to give an Earth-shattering performance in order to stay and not just do a bit better than someone that can't dance at all.

There are other factors that do and should get taken into consideration. It's not the best lipsyncher race. The lipsynch only offers a last chance to make the judges change their minds about you. It's the final variable it doesn't necessarily drive the whole decision.
Surely it's no surprise by this time that sometimes track record matters and sometimes it doesn't. Last week they could've edited Mirage to look like she knew the words, but they didn't - probably because she would've ended up at best in the middle of the field at the end anyway. But putting a top contender like Q against someone who hasn't really impressed very much at all - then of course they gonna take track record into account. And I'm sure a lot of people would complain if they didn't.

You’re absolutely correct. They put Amanda in the bottom to justify her going home even if she did amazing in the lipsync because of Q being placed high three episodes in a row (still no win). I feel like this show should be more to-the-point in terms of how well queens do in the challenges despite their track record. That shouldn’t matter. When I look at Amanda I always think about what Raja said about Shangela on season 3. There´s a lot of talent there but she belongs on 5 or 6. Amanda really was cast prematurely. She needs some time to finish cooking. Whether you like it or not, drag on TV is different then in real life. Especially on American TV the look almost always means more then the talent unfortunatelly.
While I love her personality and I think she absolutely won this lip sync, I agree that she was just too new to drag to go far in this season. She's absolutely gonna kill All Stars though, and I'd be surprised if they don't bring her back for that with how much of a fan favorite she is already.
I enjoyed Amanda's dancing, she is a powerhouse and was fun to watch. However, Q is more polished and it was not her time to go. If you didn't know Q was not a dancer, I would not have known.

What I miss today in Rupaul's Drag Race is authenticity... I feel really uncomfortable with poker faces from judges, robberies and lack of impartiality in the process. It's a competition but where is the "safe place" ? They just spit on contestant's face. They don't judge, they destroy... I think this will be the last season for me to watch.
Lets be real, people would still complain and bring up track record if Q went home. And if Amanda had stayed, was she going to drastically improve her makeup, aesthetic, and attention to details all in time before the next elimination? Amanda won the lipsync no doubt. She’s charismatic, entertaining, and fun. But she doesn’t have a clear drag style, and when you don’t have that AND don’t have the makeup/fashion to make up for it? It’s sad all around because she has the enthusiasm and drive, she just needs time to make it happen.
It’s not favoritism, it’s a combination of factors that are taken into account to see who is a better fit for the crown or not. You can be drop dead gorgeous or a beginner, if you don’t deliver as hard as everyone else and flat line for most of your stay, then it’s only natural you’ll go home if you are placed with someone who has been consistently in the spotlight no matter how good you do in a lipsync. And that’s what happened with Amanda
I liked that Q’s energy from the mini challenge until the lip sync was consistent. She had that desperate character partnered with the song, and because she lacked in the girl group challenge so she emphasized her robot-like dance moves which made her won. Also that runway look is such a slay. I think the decision was just right.
I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I agree that Q won this lip-sync. Q was more emotive and dynamic and that whistle blowing move was funny. Amanda had high energy and good moves, but it didn't really go anywhere and there wasn't as much passion and fire behind it.
Thank you Amanda for giving what this lipsync asked for. Was it perfect and clean? no, but it was chaotic and entertaining 🙏 gone too soon honey, we all know she had a lot more to show 😔

There are other factors that do and should get taken into consideration. It's not the best lipsyncher race. The lipsynch only offers a last chance to make the judges change their minds about you. It's the final variable it doesn't necessarily drive the whole decision.
Surely it's no surprise by this time that sometimes track record matters and sometimes it doesn't.
Last week they could've edited Mirage to look like she knew the words, but they didn't - probably because she would've ended up at best in the middle of the field at the end anyway. But putting a top contender like Q against someone who hasn't really impressed very much at all - then of course they gonna take track record into account. And I'm sure a lot of people would complain if they didn't.

Very different scenario! The golden chocolate bar was a premise set at the beginning of the season, we knew someone was going to be saved by that chocolate. This right here is riga moris!

Right after the lipsync the queen who had just lost was handed over "the chocolate they had signed" to cut it short, production is always behind stage pullings the strings saving their favorites, leaving queens like Amanda with the shortest end of the stick.
You’re absolutely correct. They put Amanda in the bottom to justify her going home even if she did amazing in the lipsync because of Q being placed high three episodes in a row (still no win). I feel like this show should be more to-the-point in terms of how well queens do in the challenges despite their track record. That shouldn’t matter. What should matter is if they slayed the lipsync or not to determine who actually goes home.

When I look at Amanda I always think about what Raja said about Shangela on season 3. There´s a lot of talent there but she belongs on 5 or 6. Amanda really was cast prematurely. She needs some time to finish cooking. Whether you like it or not, drag on TV is different then in real life. Especially on American TV the look almost always means more then the talent unfortunatelly.
While I love her personality and I think she absolutely won this lip sync, I agree that she was just too new to drag to go far in this season. She's absolutely gonna kill All Stars though, and I'd be surprised if they don't bring her back for that with how much of a fan favorite she is already.
I enjoyed Amanda's dancing, she is a powerhouse and was fun to watch. However, Q is more polished and it was not her time to go. If you didn't know Q was not a dancer, I would not have known.

What I miss today in Rupaul's Drag Race is authenticity... I feel really uncomfortable with poker faces from judges, robberies and lack of impartiality in the process. It's a competition but where is the "safe place" ? They just spit on contestant's face. They don't judge, they destroy... I think this will be the last season for me to watch.

Lets be real, people would still complain and bring up track record if Q went home. And if Amanda had stayed, was she going to drastically improve her makeup, aesthetic, and attention to details all in time before the next elimination? Amanda won the lipsync no doubt. She’s charismatic, entertaining, and fun. But she doesn’t have a clear drag style, and when you don’t have that AND don’t have the makeup/fashion to make up for it? It’s sad all around because she has the enthusiasm and drive, she just needs time to make it happen.

It’s not favoritism, it’s a combination of factors that are taken into account to see who is a better fit for the crown or not. You can be drop dead gorgeous or a beginner, if you don’t deliver as hard as everyone else and flat line for most of your stay, then it’s only natural you’ll go home if you are placed with someone who has been consistently in the spotlight no matter how good you do in a lipsync. And that’s what happened with Amanda

Literally everyone is wrong about Q miserably losing. She's not a dancer but she has the energy and kept up with Amanda just fine. Be mad.
I liked that Q’s energy from the mini challenge until the lip sync was consistent. She had that desperate character partnered with the song, and because she lacked in the girl group challenge so she emphasized her robot-like dance moves which made her won. Also that runway look is such a slay. I think the decision was just right.

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I agree that Q won this lip-sync. Q was more emotive and dynamic and that whistle blowing move was funny. Amanda had high energy and good moves, but it didn't really go anywhere and there wasn't as much passion and fire behind it.
