I guess I always thought of him as a violinist especially his sonata for solo violin, never imagined he wrote music for keyboard. My the recording quality for a harpsichord seems to be exceptional here. I never seem to get enough baroque music so thank you once again.
Brilliant Classics continues to bring us wonderful compositions from lesser known composers and helps enlighten my understanding of serious music. Thank you BC!
@@TiwazGoudsnor Do you consider a detailed, albeit different opinion that yours to be a violation of your sense of worth? I think the sound is very good although not what I'm used to, it is perhaps dryer or the reverb time slightly shorter and the high mids are prominent (french instrument?), but it sounds wonderful, free, passionate, sounds so happy and grateful!

Is this recording made from a two manual French harpsichord or a single manual Italian harpsichord? In either case, the musicianship and production quality are outstanding.
la influencia francesa aparece a lo largo de la obra. Sin duda es exigente por causa de la técnica que requiere la ejecución de la misma. El entramado de notas etc. Elegante múisica.
Beautiful playing and interpretation! Also, great harpsichord sound. Geminiani is a solid and a competent enough composer, but he's one of the biggest plagiarizers of the Baroque period, if not music history. When writing string music, he usually shamelessly steals from Corelli, with a hint here and there of Vivaldi. Here, in the harpsichord idiom, he mostly "borrows" from François Couperin, with perhaps a dash of Rameau. Whatever his skills, he seems to have been incapable of writing anything original.
The Vivement at 16:54 ... pure Galant style, what a bliss.

Thank you for sharing this, I've never listened to Geminiani's music before and I'm enjoying.
Glad you enjoyed it

Desconocia este autor e interprete. Gracias. Ne encanta.🎉😊❤
The microphone placement seems just right for the instrument's presence, not too much room sound.
Ok.

Handel gives Geminiani some stiff competition as to plagiarism.
