    Surely it's least laborious design in many ways and most economical also ❤. Points I have observed by order of importance.
    1, the pit digging and arrangements for inlet and exhaust pipes can be done solo by one man at leisure that is in one day or one week as time permits.
    2, only two pipes 12 inch and 6 inch 6 foot each and one length of 16mm rebar also some galvanized sheets are required which can be arranged in one day.
    3, welding the rebar in a suitable way takes less than one day.
    4, he covered the sheets with loose soil instead of mud mixed with straw. the same loose soil can be used repeatedly any no of times by a single person. It also saves labour.
    5, if all this is covered with a roof it can also prevent rain water entering the pit. Making it all season business.
    6, This method does not require the wood to be of uniform size as in many other methods and designs.
    7, as the closing of inlet and outlet are in control of the person incharge it does not required the wood to be perfectly dry. If he has small quantity of dry wood to start the fire, the remaining wood can be partially green or wet. It only takes a little longer time for the smoke to subside. Then the vents may be closed.
    I think I am already lengthy but I have got courage to start the charcoal making, which I have been postponing for the last ten years. Anyway thank you great soul for sharing the education I wished I had ten years back.

      Wow!!! A very informative observation. Thank you very much for the appreciation. All i can say is, no age can limit us to do what we want. Do it. And enjoy the result. By the way. You can do it in rectangle shape pit for business purposes, to maximize your harvest at the same time.

      For dried woods. 10 hours

    How do you get to know that it's time to cover every open hole and also when do you get to no that it's cooling time

    • @sgrade822
      @sgrade822  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When there is no or little smoke coming out of the outlet/chimney, you must cover it so that the charcoal won't have oxygen to become ash. And just touch the cover if it is cool then you can open it. Mostly around 24 hours or more after the covering.

    How many days did it take you to get the final product?

    • @sgrade822
      @sgrade822  21 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I used dry wood. It takes 8-10hours of firing and another 24hours for cooling down. My kiln is away from source of water so its hard for me to fetch water just to harvest it, but if you prefer to harvest it fast, just after the firing, you can use water to cool the charcoal. But me, i just let it cool by itself. Hehe

    I have many questions about this method. First one is, isn't the Air inlet hole smoke up during the burning process?

    • @sgrade822
      @sgrade822  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nope. The air inlet will naturally be the entrance of the air due to the fire inside. The fire needs oxygen to burn so it will suck up air in that area. And that was also because the hole was in the bottom of the pit. Because smoke always goes up. So the smoke will go out in the outlet at suck air in the inlet

    • @randybautista1480
      @randybautista1480 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's the purpose of extending the exhaust, so that it will have more pressure to pull the smoke to rise up.. i think the longer the pipe, the stronger it will pull.. di ba buddy.. thank you sa very informative video mo

    How many days will it use to turn to charcoal?

    • @ravikanthyella9361
      @ravikanthyella9361 ปีที่แล้ว

      Twenty-five to thirty hours

    • @sgrade822
      @sgrade822  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If it's dry wood just as i did in the video. It will only take 10 hours to fully turn in charcoal but it will need additional 12-24hours hours to fully cool down before opening. Some people i know. Open it up after it fully cooked or turn into charcoal and use water to put off the fire. In my case i just let it cool down by itself before harvesting. 😊

    • @sgrade822
      @sgrade822  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@olufemigold9330 after it fully cook as charchoal. Make sure that you will close all the holes. Making it an airtight pit. No oxygen must come inside for it to not become ashes.

    • @sgrade822
      @sgrade822  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@olufemigold9330 leave your best woods in farther to the air inlet because sometimes some woods in near the air inlet will become ash, as it takes more oxygen during the cooking process.
