Thank you for sharing your wisdom Mike. The whole presentation fantastic. Ran into a new frame drum, was going to sell it until I saw your video. Now I am going to try it !!!! Wishing you health and prosperity (and in that order=) tx again
Dude! Thank you so much for this basic lesson! Everything else I found on line was "here are four strokes, now we'll do them at 150 bpm"! I'll be practicing to this one lesson for a while I think. Having trouble keeping the drum in the right place in my lap at the moment. Looking forward to more of your vids!
Hi, nice lesson, tanks! This drums sounds great. but I can't understand what the référence of this drum is. Can you please give a link where it is possible to buy it ? I heard it looks good to start...
Thanks! This drum is a Cooperman. They aren't inexpensive, but they are of the best. www.cooperman.com/coopermanhanddrums/the-glen-velez-series/hand-drums-bodhrans-glen-velez-series/
having a difficult time with "ta" and "ka" with my drum, seems like the width of the drum frame that's making direct contact under the drum head is very small therefore getting that correct pitch is very difficult. any advice on this?
Please talk to me about daf instrument. I'm Brazilian I would like to learn to play this instrument but first I need to buy a I tried contacting others on TH-cam but no one answered
An excellent lesson. Thank you. BUT the concern is how you teach us for your hand to rotate around the index finger, but YOU actually rotate naturally without tension around the pinkie-that is the more relaxed way and reflects how we are built. If a person actually rotates around the index, you risk carpal tunnel and such after much repetition.
Brilliant! Learnt more in 10 minutes than I have done in 8 weeks! Thank you so much!

Rita kali I would suggest getting a drum from Cooperman. You can find Cooperman drums on google.
Come to Mauritius
do frame drums need to be retuned after a whie?
traets, yes they need to retuned. the drum in the video is tuneable. some are not.
Good to know. Thank you.
Wait. How can you tell when a drum is tunable and when it is not?
traets usually they have a floating rim with screws in the back. most aren't tuneable unless you buy a really nice one.
thanks!
