Great video, love the story. I remember meeting Steve McQueen in 1974, I was in Palm Springs cali. At a stop light and up pulls this dude on a Triumph motorcycle wearing a pair of cut off jeans. I looked at him and shit! That's Steve McQueen! I rolled the window down and said hey Steve how's it going, he said "just taking it easy riding my bike". On his right wrist he was wearing a submariner.
Rolex Submariner v Seiko Tuna. The Submariner is truly iconic. My dad owned and serviced both over the years and respected both but...the Sub was still king.
The Mariner is so iconic as to be one of the best known watches ever. You didn't mention that the Mariner become iconic as Mike Nelson's watch in later episodes of SeaHunt
Am sorry you got a lot of info wrong , Auguste Piccard dived in sea dweller and not a submariner , Second , the adventure happened in 1960 and not 1953 Third : the adventure called THE DEEPEST DIVE THE TRIESTE Good luck ,
Awesome watch. Has everything build like bombproof it will out last me. Most copied divers watch in the world. I have one and l loved it. Iconic, history, legend, benchmark, one of most video's watches on youtube. hold its value there's no substitute when it comes to The mighty Submariner.

In 1953, Rolex introduced the first watch designed for a SUBMARINE environment, and they named it after a crew member on a SUBMARINE, the "SUBMARINE-er." It is NOT pronounced "sub-mariner." That would be a person who is less than a marineer. www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/submariner

Good luck ,
sean connery wore one in GOLDFINGER 1964,but with a nylon striped band.
only the best for me 43yr.
Kermit is disappointed.
Wasn’t the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms first to market BEFORE the Rolex Sub? I love my no date sub but let’s keep it real....Rolex wasn’t first.
Indeed. Rolex is actually the "knockoff" here. Interesiting Jedi mind trick they managed to pull off having people think otherwise!
True, the Submariner was a knockoff of the iconic Blancpain Fifty Fathoms but ... both are iconic for a reason.
Zodiac was first
Love my sub 🤠
👍
