A.J. has always had an incredible voice that knocked you off your feet even when she was a pre-teen. I first encountered her perhaps 15(?) years ago when she was with the Tuttles (Molly, Sully and Dad Tuttle) in the Palo Alto Redwood Bluegrass concert series. Like the best woods that have aged in a quality instrument, her voice and mandolin playing have seriously advanced. Sully’s guitar talents are on the same level as his sister’s - even though he hasn’t yet received the kind of acknowledgement that Molly has. Blue Summit is a wonderful collection of uber talented musicians.
First listened to AJ's beautiful voice when she was singing with the Tuttles. The strength to hold notes without vibrato or break up is so beautiful against the instruments. Keep it Up AJ!!!
Never thought any singer would ever strike me as heartfelt, pitch perfect, pure and true in bluegrass as AK. I was wrong ! What a Blessing the entire group is!

I am mainly a big fan of Hard Rock but during the past year I got very interested in Blue Grass ,thank you for sharing this concert! Excellent performance by the lead singer and the band!
Old Faithful is SO GOOD! First guitar steps forward and kills it, then second guitar steps up and plays just as good! What a treat. Love the competition between these two. Notice that the guitar player on the right never looks to the guitar player on the left. I think he's thinking, "You ain't out shredding me, little dog. I'm still the alpha." Old Faithful is fast and full of high level instrument talent, but it's still a melodic fun song. It's not ONLY speedy instrument play'n. I think Billy Strings is great, but Billy mostly shares his impressive speed. Music can be so much more. Music is story, connected melodies with smooth transitions, and sometime surprise transitions. Music is instrument shredding, humor, surprise, voice quality, harmony, and the list goes on. AJ's voice is great to listen to. Hope y'all stay at it. Hope the two guitar brothers can work it out. Tough to have two alpha dogs on the farm. :)
Holy Mackrell!!!!!! This band has elevated so many levels since I last watched them. Unbelievably good. Going to have to keep up with them a little closer from now on.

I just came across this beautiful band...I love AKLee's way of speaking. I am from England, and am not sure which area she comes from. Anyhow, I have been to America years ago, also around Lake Tahoe, a very beautiful area...beautiful wooden houses hidden in the woods. i loved travelling in the USA, now very much under threat, just in case you are not aware of that. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and pretty humble and sweet. Great people,great nation. I hope you save yourselves.

She has a unique style that is so unlike most female voices out there in bluegrass. I've been following them for a few years now and her tone continues to develop.

They emulate the greats with their grin-inducing picking along with their warm and refreshing harmonies. They truly are an embodiment of such great groups and artists like The Dillards, Earl Scruggs, Lester Flatt, Stanley Brothers, Statler Brothers, and many more!! Keep it up, AJ Lee & Blue Summit!
I've watched AJ and so many of her contemporaries grow up from the kids in bluegrass program to become fantastic, seasoned performers. From her days with the Tuttles (along with Molly Tuttle), she's been so good and she and Blue Summit have become one of my very favorite groups.
Are any of them from the south? I think any bluegrass scholar who dreams of making it big in bluegrass has to at least experience some of the history behind the music before they can truly understand.
