Whether these girls were abused or not is NO EXCUSE, there have been kids with "mental issues/disorders" and HORRIBLE things happen to kids forever but 99.9% of those kids didn’t try to murder their friend, I understand depression makes people do things &/or act out of the ordinary but that is NOT an excuse, this was NOT an act of self defense it was an evil diabolical plot between two EVIL DIABOLICAL people, the second they set their plot into motion their ages became irrelevant and after stabbing her over and over and over the fact that they walked away from their "best friend" laying there bleeding to death just proves how EVIL they are, evil doesn't just go away those two girls ARE EVIL!!!

@@Disgraced_Primus imma just assume you didn’t watch the video where they continually talked about them having mental problems and disorders. I don’t know about you but at 12 I wasn’t stabbing anyone for slender man
Everyone needs to remember that the victim has stated many times that she wanted Geyser to be released in order to get the actual care she needs. if you want to learn more about the case I highly suggest reading the book titled Slenderman by Kathleen Hale.
@@lisaspencerprice-lynn6039Are you getting some kind of kick-back from this book? You've copy/pasted this comment into over a dozen threads already.🙄
It’s a conditional release. I believe this means that there will be ongoing supervision and expectations. She was 12 and mentally ill. The victim has reportedly stated that she wants her attackers to get help and has no issues with the release. The prosecutions own witness said she was not a risk. What a tragedy all round. I hope that everyone involved in this case gets the help they need.
But we have people locked up for life for Marijuana
Yeah but they're men. So who cares.
This is going to be the worst mistake that judge ever made. No way she served enough time for what she attempted to do
The rest of their 40 year sentence will be part of the strict conditional release.
Strict my butt lol You’re funny
@@JeepHERlife it's the law, and won't be taken lightly. Be real
I would have her explain the definition of, “No Significant Threat.”
It basically means she's been cooperative and non-violent since and understands the gravity of her actions and importance of ongoing treatment. Most people won't meet that criteria for release.
Both of them should still be held. They may have been young, but that didn't stop then from stabbing their friend. Sad for the victim of this horrific crime.

What exactly is the point of giving them a sentence that isn't going to be carried out? I don't recall ever hearing about an early release, let alone a conditional one. Now, the survivor is going to live her life in fear because of this joke of a justice system.
Absolutely right. The victim will live in fear and it’s likely going to take her the rest of her life to come to terms with what they did to her….
The sentence was "worst-case scenario."
They keep talking about what the attempted murderer went through, but what about her victim? Her life was altered forever. She lives with what they did daily.
100%!
I will never understand why the Justice system cares more about criminals than victims. They feel sooo bad about the poor killer who now “lost their whole life” but don’t care about the victim whose life was either taken or changed forever.
eating peanuts while releasing an attempted murderer is wild
Ridiculous. Both of them should not see the light of day for the crime they committed! It not just about whether they are a risk to the public, but primarily justice for the victim! So many of these courts n judges steal justice from the victims.
Both should have done prison time! This state needs to start voting out judges like this one by one or get them disbarred!
and still people caught with marijuana still doing life no parole. but unalive people get out after a couple years.

The law and justice carrier is one of the most sought out after jobs for sociopaths and such. Really no wonder why so many offenders get's a slap on the wrist sentences when the judges are getting off on the power to do as they want.
They were found not guilty. The judge only has so much power to keep them locked up.
@@abebuckingham8198and they were given up to 40 years - the judge did not have to release her.
So wrong. They committed pure evil on purpose. What a joke that 4th judge is. That poor girl who survived.
It's been the same judge since the beginning
This judge never treated this case seriously from the beginning. Would he have let these psychopaths off the hook so easily if the victim was murdered that day? Why should it be any different just because the victim fought hard for their right to live which was rightfully theirs to begin with? I'd argue the victim suffered even more.
Judges only throw the book at the defendant if they were attacked. That person would do that whole 25 plus.
If she is "better " then she needs to go to prison.
That's not how 'not guilty by reason if mental illness' works, my dude.
If someone is mentally unfit to stand trial or unfit to be found guilty, conviction is usually off the table, barring specific circumstances.
@@garrettwisner2072 it actually is how it works. Otherwise anyone would just act crazy after a crime so they can just go free after a few years. IF she was that mentally ill she didn't know killing her friend was bad then there is NO WAY she is just magically "cured" in 4 years. This is a bad joke.
Released from the mental health facilty to jail, right?!
I’m dying to know the victims take on all of this. Insane world we living in!
"The victim testifies in support of conditional release" is said at 21:36.
I don't think it's an insane world that we live in I think it's ignorant people who jump to conclusions and assume that make this world shittier than needed though.
They were both deeply disturbed, but Geyser was profoundly more mentally ill. This is ridiculous.

Momentarily disregarding the ethical issues surrounding this. How on earth is she even supposed to restart her life? The minute an employer looks up her name they’re instantly going to see everything. I wouldn’t be surprised if she receives renewed harassment after release. So she can’t leave her house and she can’t get a job, how exactly is that better than her being in a controlled environment with specialists that she knows and trusts?
Granted after being denied just 6 months ago! This judge has lost his mind 🤪
Another incompetent judge
Sociopaths most of them. They get off on this.
When I watched the initial trial, I always felt that the other girl was the instigator, and thus the biggest threat.
I thought that, too, while watching their interrogation interviews.
The poor little girl they left bleeding in the woods to die alone must be devastated by this terrible news.
On the contrary she could be very happy to hear they’ve gotten help, are sorry for what they’ve done, and happy they may get a chance at a normal life.
@NeytiriJade are you serious?
@@lorihoop3831very serious, the victim had been pushing for this so they could get proper help. She has forgiven them and moved on.

This is outrageous! Both of these girls should be behind bars! Disgusting and unbelievable! The terror the victim is going to feel while these two girls roam free is just unfathomable.
So... their victim now has to live in fear every day because of this early release? Got it!
Lets just wait for next victim and then claim nobody could have seen it. At that point all these people siding with her release should be jailed too.
So, as usual, a younger assailant attempting to murder someone is treated with a slap on the wrist and tons of excuses. Young people aren't blind and are certainly aware they'll never be held accountable for dangerous behaviors.
This girl is so medicated, I doubt she even knows what’s going on, clearly. We need to hear from her, in her own voice. To read body language and tone and pitch in voice.
Their victim had to drag her stabbed body out of the woods & hope for a passing stranger to help.
She fought for her life. I fear what these two will do as adults.
It would be hilarious if it wasn't so horrific when these psychologists say there's nothing to suggest they would be a danger. Really? Nothing? 🤨
Then she said "she hasnt thought about slender man in awhile. " like wtf 🤦🏽♀️
If she’s well enough to leave the mental hospital then why is she not serving the remaining sentence in prison?
I remember the day this happened, I was horrified and just could NOT wrap my head around one 12 yr old doing this but TWO of them... 12 year olds should be watching Scooby-Doo playing with hula hoops jacks, barbies, riding bikes, roller skating and playing jump rope, the only blood they should shed should be from wiping out on their bikes, skates, falling off a swing or poking thier fingers to become "blood sisters".
Exactly how I feel.
One of the girls had schizophrenia! She inherited it from her father. There is a documentary about it . The mother is such an enabler. Downplays both of their illnesses.
Exactly 💯
They are excuses. One girl was found not guilty by reason of insanity. 😂

That's called bias lol. A judge would never be in that position.
They were 12 and have been locked up over a decade
People make a lot of assumptions based on watching a 25-minute video; Dunning-Kruger, as usual, is in full effect in the comments section. Because obviously everyone here has served as a judge and knows what the criteria is for a judge to make this kind of ruling, has read all of the reports that the judge has available to them, and every other detail involved.
she almost killed someone. no remorse. i saw her interrogation video. and she clearly is still heavily medicated (vs the other girl who sounded somewhat reasonable if rehearsed). what if she stops taking her meds
Jfc i was afraid of this happening. My heart goes out to Peyton having to live now knowing they're walking free
I call bullsh*t on the whole lot--on the therapists' recommendations, on the judge's decision to grant conditional release & for completely disregarding the victim & her family's feelings, not to mention the threat she poses to the community. The 2nd therapist keeps saying, "There's nothing to suggest..." that she's a danger to herself or anyone & that she should be able to make a life for herself. I don't agree. There's everything to suggest that she's a danger to society, EVERYTHING! And the girl who egged her on is equally guilty. I had an abusive childhood & so did some of my friends. We didn't lure anyone into the woods & stab them 19 times. Pure idiocy on the part of the therapists & judge. If they commit more heinous crimes, the responsibility rests squarely on their shoulders.
I agree 👍 1000th per cent
In Germany they would have never seen a courtroom or even been charged. These girls need help, not punishment.
HOW IS THIS WHATS HAPPENING?!?! The fact they were children doesn’t matter imo, attempted murder doesn’t have age limits.
When did it become about being a risk, and stop being about punishment for the crime?
Ask your Democrat-voting friends and family 👍
They were found not guilty by reason of mental defect so there was no crime in the courts eye.
Completely agree... punishment should be a much bigger factor in the justice system
Its because they were found not guilty. They were sick kids.
i think thats how the insanity defense works. technically they let you out once youre not a risk of your mental illness causing you to do it again. or in this case "currently" not a "substantial" risk. smh
SO IT ONLY TOOK 4 ATTEMPTS TO FOOL THE SYSTEM THAT SHES NO LONGER TOO CRAZY TO SERVE A SENTENCE.... THEN IT TIME TO GO TO JAIL... BAD RULING JUDGE
This is what happens when the media gets a hold of these types of stories and runs them, the judges suddenly dont know how to do their job anymore
It should be the victims who gets to decide whether they are released. Not a corrupt system!!! Always for the predators not the victims!!!!
Guys, she is in a group home under supervision until 2058. She isn't exactly "free".

Unreal. Did any of these “professionals “ see her interrogation interview? Let them have her as their neighbor then, umkay?
The doctors have been involved with this case since the very beginning. They know this person very well, and it's proven to a professional degree of certainty that they are no longer a danger to society after years of therapy and treatment.
