  • So this is it. Job done! Nothing has attempted to fix the dam, so it's time to dig it out a bit more and go. I will likely be back in the spring to check this place out. I spent quite a bit of time here this year.
    I can't wait until spring, 💪

Hey Gene. From the video My field looks a lot bigger then it did in November. Thanks for all the hard work. I told you there was about a million litres of water in there. I’ll be checking it out the weekend after Easter. Come by for a coffee if your in the area.

      Hey Steven.
I guess you found me, lol.
Yes, it was quite a bit of water. I will come check it out when you are here. I am curious to see how it is doing.

Hi Gene, so it looks like you got all the beavers?
Not that many really considering the size of the house/den.
They are trying to reintroduce beavers here in the UK, they should watch your (and others) videos.
Just recently heard they have had to relocate some already, and then two of the pups were killed by an otter.
Madness considering how overcrowded England is, plus they've been extinct here for over 300 years so one would assume the eco system has adapted.
It's been an epic series watching this dam being dismantled and then the water draining. So Thanks for giving us all the updates.

Hey there, Excession. I am pretty sure I got them all. I was at this spot earlier in the summer, just a little further downstream. I got a bunch then as well. They often have alternative den sites they may have taken off to. I am sure I will find out this coming season. There is such a big population there that new ones will be there eventually either way. I can only go after the ones in the drains, causing problems.
I think that it is great that they are going to reintroduce 🦫 there. 😳 I know that sounds crazy but they are my favorite animal by far. I can't imagine how terrible/different our landscapes would look without them. Hopefully, they will put in a good management program for them. I have lots of places where I just trap to maintain and keep the population from growing. (Private land owners) they don't want them gone, but they also like their trees and roads, lol. I have actually caught an otter carrying a dead baby beaver away. My view is a little bised, lol. I would have to get a real job, haha.
Thanks for watching and all the comments. I really need to get back out there. Spring can't come quick enough. I will go back there this summer and see how things went over the winter.

Hey Mark. They sure did. It was a big beaver house. I get close to it after the water is drained on the last video.

You should consider trying tannerrite you can get in in sporting goods stores it’s a non permitted legal explosive to use on them big tightly packed dams

That would be fun, James. I might do that on a friend's place sometime. It's on the bucket list for sure. Most of these videos are on municipal drains, and they don't want me doing that there. It's partly what got me the job. I kept telling them I could do it by hand for less 💰.

I bet you find a lot of deer sign out in and around the marshes. That looks like a lot of work. Good job Gene. 🦫

      Hey Brushcrawler. 👋
I do see some, but we have a much larger moose population here. There are lots of black bears, too. About an hour or 2 south of me is where all the deer hide, lol.
It's definitely my kind of work.
      Thanks.

      Hi David. Thanks !
I can't wait to get back out there. We are still pretty frozen here at the moment. We just had a snowstorm, actually. It usually starts mid-April. First chance I get, I will be out there with the camera in hand.
      Thanks for watching.

wow, no snow. I know I would miss it as much as I hate it. I could go for a whole lot less of it anyway. It shuts me down for about 5 months. It sure makes spring exciting, though.

There were a few who were not fond of it, that's for sure. 🦫 But you know what....I think it made others say some really nice things that they might not have said otherwise. I guess I am grateful for both, 👍 It is a big part of the job, and I am so happy I get to do it.
You surprise me sometimes, Louis. Thanks for watching. 🚣🥶💪
