I really like your honesty. Not everything we cook is fantastic but there’s too many channels going overboard on anything they cook in the wood. Thanks for another fun video.
Awesome bread 🥖 Some butter to go with that honey would have been great! I’m going to say it’s probably just the heat, my brain checks out a lot in the summer time too. 😅
It looked good, I've bought several things from Timba all great reliable items and a top bloke to deal with. I've never used egg in my bannock mix just flour, milk powder salt and sugar. I do prefer using coffee mate rather than milk powder it tastes much nicer to me.😁👍🏻
I bought the tray plus two small loaf tins from Tim Smith (Rough Timba) at the Bushcraft Show. I camped with Wiltshire Man (see vid on his channel) earlier this month and cooked a couple of bannocks that turned out really well, much to my surprise. Like TheDavewatts, I used Coffee Mate instead of milk powder, didn't add any egg but did add some salt.
Coffee mate is far creamier , also Nido full fat milk Powder is good, but bloody expensive! I'll have to get a tin or two, I use aluminium foil trays in the reflector oven , recycled from M&S breaded mushrooms and mozzarella sticks packaging.
@RobEvansWoodsman oh oh. Hopefully the new milk will help your next batch - depending on when you get round to making them 😁👍 just had a bland foraged soup that I improved with miso paste, salt and pepper. Then ate some biscuits and chocolate 🤣👍
I prefer it mate, I've never had a zebra with clips so I can't say if this works better but I prefer the bail loop , it has handles, spout and a steemer insert.
The look on your face when you broke open that cake was priceless!

I loved how surprised you were when the rock cake was perfectly done.
I don't know why I was surprised, I've seen others do it and baked many a successful cake in the past.
Fantastic mate. Home made bread is the best.
Honey is a staple in my kit. Great video as always 👍
Thanks mate
excellent video Rob! you're making me hungry
Not as hungry as me, I'm on a health eating kick for the next few months
Thankx Rob
Great idea. I'll try. Thank you.

Awesome! 👍
Thanks mate
Thanks for the tea and Bannock. I've tried a few variations of it. I wound up mixing cinnamon sugar to make it a little more lively
Sounds nice, Christmas bannock!!

Looked good that cake did!
It was bland and the milk was off, remember last Wednesday?

I saw your instgram pix mate
Really enjoyed Your James Martin Impression, unfortunately you forgot the 1/2 pound of butter... but do like your little gadget..
James Martin, the butter chef!
How do you find the bush pot over the zebra billy?
I prefer it mate, I've never had a zebra with clips so I can't say if this works better but I prefer the bail loop , it has handles, spout and a steemer insert.
Guess what’s going on my Xmas list now 😉
Aren't the zebra clips plastic nowadays anyway?
@@RenThraysk I've seen some metal ones, could have been ones somebody made themselves.
@@RobEvansWoodsman Ah yes, seems can buy pots with metal clips installed.
Good effort that. I have to add a pinch or more of salt to mine. What's going on, NO RAIN IN WALES FOR WEEKS !!
It's raining now
@@RobEvansWoodsman 👍🤦😎
Unbelievable! 🫓😃
