Ah, the subtle beauty of the Seventh Doctor. A master strategist, always playing the game one step ahead of everyone else (much like his Second and Fourth incarnations). I have always loved the poetic irony that no enemy ever beat him, and he never had a situation where he had to sacrifice himself. His death comes from sheer and simple bad luck. The master strategist who walks into the wrong moment at the wrong time.

I wasn't fully satisfied with 7th's exit, but I've always considered it very fitting. What finally puts a stop to the manipulative chess-master? An act of unfortunate happenstance that nobody could plan for -- even though he should have heard bullets hitting the door, or checked outside -- so you just have to accept tthat he was too busy and frantic about the TARDIS problem to notice (or something). Not the most well executed demise, but still quite apt when you consider his true nature.
Poor old Seven. Has to talk himself out of gun-point numerous times during his era, then gets shot by his future wife, and then legitimately shot after visiting America. As proven by River, if you want to beat the Chess Master, don't play his games. Shoot first and DON'T ask him questions later.
Notice how much clearer Sylvester's spoken voice as he did tend to mumble at times when on television. Great to hear him so clearly as he is a very underrated Doctor.
Never had an issue hearing or understanding him during the televised run, but you do have to consider that the show (at the time) had a budget of 50p per episode (and even if they actually made effort with audio, it would be nothing compared to the tech we have now). There's a big difference recording VO in a dedicated audio studio (compared to) recording old TV in public (or in shoddy studios) during the late 80's.
2:54 I can't help but imagine if this was a live episode that the 7th Doctor tripped over something like that scene after he had regenerated with the Rani.
The Doctor talked about his memory bring like swiss cheese. It makes sense with so that happens to him. My favorite example is that Two had this remote summoning device so he could bring the TARDIS to him no matter where he was. The Sixth Doctor gets excited and says he's always wanted one. That means that not only has the Doctor lost it and can't remember where, he doesn't remember that he ever had one! (From the Two Doctors)

In theory anyone with the proper training can become a Time Lord but usually there's only Gallifreyan Time Lords from highborn social status. If we follow the recent controversial developments then the Time Lord genetic abilities are only passed down among the noble houses of Gallifrey . So in this later canon you have to be born a Time Lord in those houses but of course as being a Time Lord is after all a genetic enhancement any person able to understand the science can attend to replicate it... but how River was created doesn't make sense now as they gave another explanation instead of saying they got hold of Time Lord genetic material (something many species would go to war to get as they claimed in the Astronaut episode).

Barry Smith what happened with 8 was he never saw river face to face he only heard her and it was muffled her encounter with 4 basically happened in a different time zone which she fixed and 4 didn’t remember, 7 and 6 both forgot by memory wipe and 5, well I can’t completely remember that one but the master and everything else is all possible
I love this clip because it brilliantly illustrates the difference between a real competent character like Seven, and a wanna-be "cool genius girl" of the type that a non-writer like Steven Moffat pukes up. River is utterly aghast that Seven hasn't eaten any of the food she's given him, citing the lengths she went to make sure the memory agent couldn't be directly detected; that Seven may have simply thought it would be unwise to accept food from a total stranger, regardless of whether or not he could pick up on any specific thing wrong with the food, doesn't occur to her at all.
The doctor all of them is the definition of a cool genius type character that isn't actually smart According to the seventh doctor he had plans in place from the beginning when no i'm pretty sure the first doctor was just some a****** sitting in A junkyard He wasn't running away with some powerful artifact
