I tend to take a "better safe than sorry" approach to vet care with my pets. If it's nothing serious then you're just a couple hundred bucks out but if it's something serious and you don't go, then you could lose your animal.
Yup me as well! My baby girl (my dog) got stung by a bee last week and once I noticed how badly she reacted to the sting, I started bawling my eyes out and called the emergency vet right away. My family kept telling me to calm down and just give her benadryl but they didn't see her like I did! Thank God I trusted my instinct and got her to the vets right away, turns out she's highly allergic to bee stings!
funky little cowboy same here. If I don’t know exactly what the heck is going on & can’t do anything about it at home, off we go. Big animals, small - but especially our dogs. Way better safe than sorry. 👍

My Dane escaped out the front screen while I was at work, the neighbor had food with rat poison and ground glass for a treat (jacka$$) I found out later, but the vomiting and bloody diarrhea set us to the vet asap! It was a 5-day stay and many drugs but she was finally coming home. On the last check-up, I shut her tail in the door and never knew until I opened the door to get her out. No, she never made a sound. The tip of her tail needed to be removed and stitched but it became a challenge to keep her tail from whipping around making it bleed. Ended up having to tie and tape her tail to her body. It took months to pay that bill off and meant beans and cooked cabbage for quite a while.

Maybe she can still go outside some, hang out when you're out, but then come in every evening. I'm sure you guys will figure out what she needs as she gets 100% better.
I agree I've had a cat with pretty much the same injures and even though he didn't even get a medical attention he start walking and running like nothing ever happened to him after a year. (the cat was my grandmothers n he was a lazy fat cat who end up falling from 50ish feet height and ran over by a car like lil cat.) i were 12yo back then not able to get him medical attention.

I can go one better. My dad is a doctor. My mum had the family cat on her lap one evening and felt a fairly large, protruding lump on the side of the cat's belly. My dad inspected it and agreed that he needed to take the cat to the veterinarian the next day. At the vet practice, he explained the problem, the vet looked, squeezed the lump and then pulled it off. It was just a ball of matted fur. My dad, feeling very embarrassed, asked how much he owed. The vet replied, "I don't charge for hairdressing."
So glad she is ok My friend is also allergic to cats and when she got an air purifier for her house she had two cats and no symptoms. Might check it out and see if it will work for you. Why no shout out for Dr Beep. Lol
You can also run your air conditioner fan too. I do that, run a air filter & take singulair, Flonase, azelastine. Then occasionally I still need an inhaler. Luckily it just makes me feel like I can't breathe but I'm actually getting too much oxygen if I breathe fast like I want too. Incredibly irritating to have though.
Fluticasone nasal spray is over the counter medicine or flonase i think with prescription. If you have medicaid then its free but usually the pharmacies will heavily discount these type of drugs. Once you use Fluticason once a day, the relief is instant. Im allergic to cats but i rarely take fluticasone anymore, because it seems that im not as allergic anymore of them. They sleep on my bed, so i guess my body tolerates their allergen. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for discount cards, which many times they discount between 25-75% off the med you need.
@@GoldShawFarm The cat carrier is wayyyy too small for your cat. Im having an anxiety attack looking at it, cant imagine a cat who has no clue whats going on. In the future, leave the door of cat carrier open so that they can enter any time, sleep in it, play in it and get used to it. I leave my carriers open around the house, so that the cats get used to them.

I took my little "Poo" to the vets at midnight on New Year's Eve once, triple whammy on the emergency call out charge because it was out of hours, after midnight and a Bank Holiday. I left her once before for 8 hours after finding a problem at midnight and we were at the vets at 8 the next morning. I nearly lost her that time. Please never leave it to a more convenient time. My little Poo died in May 2915 just a few weeks before her 19th birthday. Bless you my little Poo, RIP. Take care all, Poo(smate)

Pleased it was a false alarm, she is going to be a little out of condition after going from being active all day to enforced cage rest and I'll bet you've been understandably spoiling her a bit with that premium cat food everyday.
You can also buy dander wipes from Amazon, they're pretty affordable, and you just wipe the cat down with them every day and it helps reduce dander. My mom had to do this with her cat, bc she lives with my sister who has a retreat center, and lots of folks come in and out. Sadly, her cat has since passed, (RIP Blue), but she told us about them since my hubby also has some mild allergies. I hope this helps!!!

You might need to bring Pablo inside at night, to keep him safe too. It would give Lil Barn Cat company and someone to play with. He could spend dawn to dusk outside. As a cat's prey is most active at those times, he'll still keep the rodent population down.
I was thinking that since his wife is a nurse practitioner, an allergist may just let her administer the allergy shots at home. That's what we did, and it worked out great.
I know rodents mostly come out at night so eh I have a rodent problem in my house and when the room is dark they come out. Our dogs and mouse traps are taking care of the issue though

Major cat allergy sufferer here: if you aren’t already, I highly recommend also adding Flonase (fluticasone) to your daily Claritin routine. And if your eyes get itchy, try the eye drops that have ketotifen fumarate. Cat allergies are SO ITCHY (and scratchy and wheezy and burny and distracting)! Good luck!!

I am so glad lil barn cat is doing really well. she seems to be enjoying the indoor life, even if she's not used to being so cooped up. she deserves every bit of the pampered life! also, might I suggest some Singulair (prescribed by doctor) for your cat allergies. I have a severe, epi-pen required allergy to cats, and I have three. That sleep with me. And never leave me alone. Singulair has helped me function on a daily basis and not have to get rid of my cats to survive. If you're going to be going on a Claritin regime anyway, you might talk to your doctor about it.

@@Nirrrina you should definitely have it done. it's not as scary as it sounds, and then you'll know for certain what you should avoid. i was sick for years before i got tested - just thought i had constant sinus infections.. until finally a sinus infection ended up causing a ruptured eardrum. i'm permanently deaf in one ear. i ended up doing about a year of immunotherapy, which definitely helped, and then got good meds which have made a significant difference. haha now if I forget to take them, i'm like.. .how did I live like this ?!
Ooohh, she gets the good catfood, yum! I’m so happy this turns out to be a happy vlog. Nasal inhalers are pretty good with Benadryl as a backup. Flonase is a good nasal snorter!

"Cat Allergies" - sure there. We all know you're just relieved and so in love with 'Lil that it's hard to keep the tears at bay. It's ok. You can be honest with us. :P But seriously, on the allergies side. I'm allergic to cats (pretty much everything with fur) but I've lived with cats for about 30 years. Having some extra strength benadryl on hand for "flare-ups" and overstock on facial tissues for a constant running nose. It is a small, small inconvenience for the sake of having the love of my cat. I’m constantly switching between 24 hour antihistamines and even then need to take benedryl occasionally. I’m allergic to the dander from certain cats... and my older male is one of them-he has quite a bit of arthritis and can’t groom quite well enough

I was hoping it would be a "primordial pouch" . I found out about them when my sister was convinced our cat had suffered some terrible parasite infection, then I looked it up and found it's normal for cats for that belly skin to get loose and droop as they age.

Oh I’m so glad Lil’ Barn Cat is alright!! The FUPA thing has got me dying though! 😂😂 I’m actually allergic to pet dander and both my cat and dog got it pretty bad. Brushing Lil might help along with using some dander wipes. Flonase and non-drowsy Benadryl or Zyrtec might help you with your allergies.

TIP : Nasal spray really helped with my allergies when pills and other means didn't do the trick! Glad Lil is okay, those mice have no idea what they're in for.

@@Nirrrina you should definitely have it done. it's not as scary as it sounds, and then you'll know for certain what you should avoid. i was sick for years before i got tested - just thought i had constant sinus infections.. until finally a sinus infection ended up causing a ruptured eardrum. i'm permanently deaf in one ear. i ended up doing about a year of immunotherapy, which definitely helped, and then got good meds which have made a significant difference. haha now if I forget to take them, i'm like.. .how did I live like this ?!

As someone who used to be sneezing at the sight of a cat, living with two for a year really did clear my cat allergies! Hopefully soon she'll be your new favorite desk buddy :)

"Cat Allergies" - sure there. We all know you're just relieved and so in love with 'Lil that it's hard to keep the tears at bay. It's ok. You can be honest with us. :P
But seriously, on the allergies side. I'm allergic to cats (pretty much everything with fur) but I've lived with cats for about 30 years. Having some extra strength benadryl on hand for "flare-ups" and overstock on facial tissues for a constant running nose. It is a small, small inconvenience for the sake of having the love of my cat.

I’m constantly switching between 24 hour antihistamines and even then need to take benedryl occasionally. I’m allergic to the dander from certain cats... and my older male is one of them-he has quite a bit of arthritis and can’t groom quite well enough

I was hoping it would be a "primordial pouch" . I found out about them when my sister was convinced our cat had suffered some terrible parasite infection, then I looked it up and found it's normal for cats for that belly skin to get loose and droop as they age.

I’m actually allergic to pet dander and both my cat and dog got it pretty bad. Brushing Lil might help along with using some dander wipes. Flonase and non-drowsy Benadryl or Zyrtec might help you with your allergies.
