I attended one of Bill's black belt seminars once. Bill has an outgoing personality and a fantastic sense of humor. A real people's person. He had black belts groaning in pain during his seminar. His flexibility and expertise are unmatched.
Valuable interview with Bill Wallace. We get to learn more of what went on back in the day. That he was actually afraid of getting hit. Didn't go into it like some bare knuckles brawle. That was willing to take the hits. He was methodical in his fighting. Giving new meaning to the words "Sweet science (of fighting)". The man was working with only one good leg. Even his left leg had problems but worked through that. with an acupuncturist. Became the best kicker in the world...I think to this day. There hasn't been any one close to Bill in his prime or better. Which says a lot about him and the MA community. We're no longere producing talent like Bill Wallace (Benny Urquidez, Joe Lewis RIP...etc.). I think people aren't as hungry. He had a complete understandin of body mechanics. Knew how his opponents would come at him. And he had a leg that could move any which way. And he would never telegraph his kicks. You didn't know what was coming. Then add his speed 60MPH. No one kicked that fast then or today. If any one should be a "MA Icon" it should be Wallace not Bruce Lee. Wallace was intimidating as a fighter and onscreen as a bad buy...
Bruce Lee is faster then him ! When you seen this in TH-cam- from the ground to the full height/head !!! Love both, but Bruce Lee is the epitome of martial arts !
I remember his seminar at Huddersfield sports center. This one is the famous sparring session he had with Bob Sykes. Notice everyone stop their sparring and watch. I have had the honor of training with Bill a few times. Such a gentleman.
They used to have things called magazines and I remember Bill superfoot Wallace was one of the biggest stars in the martial arts magazines he could kick 60 miles an hour.
Time flies too fast this is why they're the greatest of all-time they can make things right even in these times as off and backwards the us is chuck Norris or bill Wallace for president with other man at the helm it would finally be a victory and can turn this country around for the better
Most Karate tournaments sparring was like this we used to call it freestyle Karate sparring. It eas Basically kickboxing without hook punches that's all. Nowadays most point Karate has become to specialised and lost this kind fighting.
American black soldier in Giessen West Germany in the early 80's Virgil. I do not know his last name. He was way better than Wallace in Wallace's own style. Using 2 legs and adding Axe kick and all kicks in their flying form. He always wanted to fight Chuck Norris. One day suddenly disappeared. . DD dishonorable discharge, drugs delict.
@@bentoncushing8693 it has nothing to do with how much you train or flexibility, its dexterity to use that flexibility. Mosr will never achieve the flexibilty or control and speed.
One of the greatest of all time, a true legend.

He kicked only with front leg and starting the kick in midair with already chambered high knee.
Nobody had a chance to dodge and avoid being hit.
Bruce Lee is faster then him !

Holy Hamstrings. This was 5 years before I started training with Bill, and Buster Reeves was there with me too. 👊💥‼️

That was shortly before the USA first learned of Thai Boxers and Thai Boxing.
Just BEFORE Ramon Dekkers started his "shadow realm tourism company" and went global with it.😂

Everyone always think their style is the best. In truth it doesn't matter which style you practice, it only matters how good you are at it.

I don't believe anyone was better than Bill. He retired undefeated.
@@rondodson5736 trust me he was better. if not for being stationed in West Germany he would have fight Wallace to prove my point.
For so many reasons, Bill Wallace style CAN NOT BE EMULATED or copiied. So attending the seminars is waste of time and money.
I agree, its an attribute based style that doesnt translate. Also he uses seminars to show off rather than teach fundamentals.
Only the obsessed will develop that level of flexibility,,,,kinda does limit folks success ,,,but I find his style refreshing and simple

We get it. You don't like him.
