Excellent video thank you, I found 1 of these kits online for $20 and purchased it. I also notice that they don't seem to be on ebay any more and most places are sold out. The device uses a PIC12F508 programmable chip and would be nice if I could find the code but so far no luck.
I will also start a search, cause you could program them to better fit and enhance the performance, I see several types of units with separate features
Just found your channel and subscribed. I think it is interesting that they use the Thermin kit and didn't develop their own electronics and programming for it! The PIC 12F508 is really the heart of it, I'm a firmware developer and I have an electronics background so I ordered a number of these kits and plan to tinker with them over the Christmas holidays. Do you have any more information on these REM pods because I'm wondering how they got the sensitivity and "NULL" functions to work like the Mel meters... I think there is a newer version of the REM pods that have a Temperature detection function as well, are those another hot-glued off the shelf kit?? I'm thinking that the REM pod 2.0 has custom electronics and firmware... and that REM Pod 1.0 was just to get something to market to fund 2.0 - What do you think?
I used 22 gauge. Connect positive to one pole on the switch the other end to battery connector, the other positive to the center pole on switch, the other end to positive battery point on the board.
I have a question. I got all the stuff. I can flip the switch and the lights flash twice and beeps. But i cant get the antenna to work. When i move the board are around or bump it slightly it will just make noises. I tried the single wire antenna and the 3.5 female to female connections
Is there another device or another way to make one instead of using the theremin kit. We have bought 3 different kits and they were all junk. I started thinking that I was getting it mixed up maybe but I actually wasn't. I have been online all over the place and can not come up with anything else I can use.

I am having an issue and hoping maybe you can help me with it. I have everything hooked up right and the rem-pod worked fine the first hour and now when I turn it on it beeps once and led 1 stays on. It does not beep or light up when I touch antenna .

Hi, thank you for this Video. Do I have to use LEDs with an already integrated resistor? Or just wire "normal" LEDs? ..I had already used wired LEDs at first. But they didn't work. But I'm not sure if it was me :) or the already attached resistor of the LEDs

Where can I find the supplies to make this? Definitely needed a REM pod. Can you also make SLS with xbox Kinect camera and connect it to the device to detect a map near me?

@@TheParawakening Would it just be easier to use a MONO 3.5 connector and ignore the ground connection as it's really not what it actually does instead of using a STEREO connector?

In other words did where exact on the board did you put the leg? Do I understand it right that one leg goes straight from the switch to the battery it self and one goes from the to the board? If so where on the board do I connect it to? And did you combine the leg to the battery with the standard battery wire?

Hi please help! I'm stuck on number (3) on the instructions. Its says solder the chip sockets (Ic1 and Ic2) matching the notch in sockets to board. But then says Do not solder chips directly to board? I'm lost? Thank you for any help.
@@TheParawakening to ground only? On the madlab kit the orange wire goes neg and loops to complete the circuit to pos. Do you just connect the leads at the end and solder to the antenna plug? Trying to find that antenna type and can not find it on Ebay.
@@TheParawakening step by step where everything goes how to fit the the on off switch the aerial how fit the led lights how to fit the battery how to hook it up to the switch a step by step you start then you finish there's no instruction allot of videos dont go thru the entire process it would help allot of people
A rem pod for about $30 is pretty good, compared to the $190 version of it! I hope to try and build one myself. Thanks for the tutorial!

Are there REM pods with smaller fields? I’d like to make an interactive mechanism but need smaller fields to act as buttons.

No. You only need the ground wire connected.

You can change it on the board it self, there is a button to toggle between be and music tones. These were designed as a musical instrument.

You need to add on off switch the the battery connector. You can find a guide on how to wire on off switch.

The theremin is what is used on the original Rempod.

No. Just a simple wire connecting to the board.

How do you hook up power switch?
Need to connect battery positive and one of the switch post to the positive, then other post to board positive point. Look up wiring switch on google.

I used the ones that came with the kit. No extra resistors needed.

@@MrBC2 yes, but you can just connect one wire to the ground. I didn’t have any mono connectors, so used what I had.

Positive battery to on leg on the switch the second leg from the switch to.the positive lead on the board.

Deborah Meerwijk the positive on the battery connector goes to switch, then add a wiring going from leg on switch to the positive on the board.

Sounds like a connection issue. Make sure the chips were installed correctly and are seated correctly.

Got it. The chip sockets need to be soldered to the board, the chips themselves will be seated into the sockets after. If that makes sense.

To be fair the board you show only stays on for around 5 minutes or so. As the rempod stays on until turned off
