I honestly liked the way that gumball ended because it was exactly like rob warned. The show fell into the void and ended like many tv shows, but this one more literally. I felt like it was a genius ending.
If a movie does get made, I'm hoping it'll be a send off for the original run of Gumball and its void storyline. I wasn't happy about the original pitch cause it felt like a sign this show I love would get milked. Go on forever no matter how bad it gets like Family Guy and Spongebob(which had ups and downs btw). Season 6 was already shaky with its writing, I did NOT want to see what episodes from a season 7 or 8 would look like. But now, I'm a bit more optimistic. I think part of the reason Ben is pushing for the movie is that he wants to give his version of the show a proper sendoff. Then season 7 can be its own thing. It'll definitely be different, but I don't mind that if the movie can wrap up the void plotline and/or be a bit self aware about how things will be different in the new seasons.
I don't care, Give me the movie, anytime, anyplace, A theatrical release, or a streaming release on either Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Max, etc. I would love it to be theatrical because I would love to give it my goddamn money, I do not care. If this film comes out, In any way shape or form, I'm watching it, In any legal way I can.

What I find sort of funny and ironic is that I was nearing the end of my elementary school days when the season six finale aired. I’m now in high school and still no progress has really been made. I swear this thing is going to come out when I’m graduate from college or something. Jokes aside, I don’t care anymore. Give my eyes a gumball movie. I wouldn’t really care if it was completely garbage, I just want this extremely rocky train ride to end once and for all. I REALLY hope we get more Gumball sooner than later. It’s very frustrating as a fan to hear updates once every few months, where we still get very vague information and no progress.
It's possible the plot of the movie was reworked into plot heavy episodes of s7 And the new series probably became the new season (the divide between 2 series would be kinda arbitrary anyway and this would make it easier for streaming)
Even though the movie is still shown to be stuck in the same place it's been in for the past few years this is progress being made towards the movie getting finished. As it's confirmed the movie isn't dead but even so it has been a lot with everything that happened with the pandemic impacting the movie's production along with other stuff. But I'm excited to see The Amazing World Of Gumball and Adventure Time's movie releases it's been a long time coming in the Cartoon Network movies.
Season seven can totally talk about the void before the "movie". Just make them prequal episodes that expand on it, maybe have them introduce when Banna joe's mom First started painting pictures of the void. This does not need to be directly after her burn out but just a good distance before the "Future" episode where the void being all she could paint was the main driving point. Better yet, you could show times when the void messes with other people, like how it sucked away gumball, Darwin, and Mr. Smalls hats because they knew too much but for some reason it did not do the same to joe's mom? That sounds like it could be interesting! Not only that but time itself sounds like a cool premise. Rob did not seem to age when he was in the void despite being unfrozen maybe it could lean into gumball and Darwin's canonical immortality. Maybe we could see that Tobias's sister in the void? That could be an interesting conflict between him, Darwin, and Carrie. There is also some cross over potential as well like in the "Boredom". Gumball and Darwin could find random things sitting around Elmore that aren't apart of their show, so the void tries to take it. Sounds like an interesting way to follow up Rob's story with him possibly finding things in the limbo that are from different universe and he tries to use them to help him escape.
I'm really excited for anything we're gonna get! Whether it's a season 7 or any kind of movie, I'll enjoy it if our favourite blue cat is starring it!!

What I think/hope that in most of season 7 they just ignore the void, because my personal theory is that rob fell in the void because the show “ended” and the void is where everything goes that the universe thinks is a mistake or it wants to forgot aboutit. So if the show ended then it would make sense that all of Elmore went in the void, but sense we’re getting the seventh season, the show didn’t end and Elmore does not need to be sucked up in the void because it hasn’t been forgotten about yet, so if this true, then the void could have just closen up, leaving rob stuck in it for most of season 7, and if this is also true then we could get the original version of the movie, so I hope them saying they will take about the void in season 7 is just a red herring and they will talk about at like the end, and with the season 7 is sounding it sound like this could be true, or not, I don’t know, it just my theory. Correct me if there is something I horribly missed
