I’m a year late to this wonderful song, so my bad, but I wanted to share me feelings 👉👈 I LOVE that in the chorus, Ranger says “I’ll rearrange and reincarnate as your best traits” which suggests he’s taking the ‘best traits’ of everyone else… because he was made up of the worst traits of Sei. The jealousy, fear of death. He wasn’t given any of Sei’s positive traits, just left with the worst ones, and expected to function like that. He’s not a sadist by choice, he wasn’t given a choice to be anyone but how Gashu and Safalin programmed him. That’s why he changes himself, that’s why he’s so desperate to make Gashu like him. “You liked Sei, but you hate me. I changed my clothes, I changed my personality, I’ve taken traits from the candidates you love so much, do you love me now?” He hates the way he was programmed, and he barely even knows why, because he wasn’t programmed with those answers. He wants to be human. He wants to be Sei. He wants to be human and he wants to be Sei so that Gashu will actually love him. I LOVE TRAGIC CHARACTERS RIO RANGER SUPREMACY 🔥🔥
2:36 Something I’ve noticed is interesting about this part. When Rio takes Kai’s apron, the whole screen goes white for a few moments. That the only part in this segment where that happens, since most of the other glitch’s are just the glitchy squares that pop up. I thought that was a nice little detail to the link between the two of them.

I absolutely adore the distorted sounding guitar for this song. It not only fits Rio Ranger (both in character and how hes a jumbled mix of everyone's clothes and carboard faces), but it fits Your Turn to Die's OST in general.
The song is called re:ARRANGEMENT because that bridge is exactly when you can hear me being gutted and *rearranged* from the inside out. Ouch! Big ouch! Another reason is because I'm about to rearrange MY face. This song is gonna become my whole personality and I'm honestly here for it.
The melody of "Oh apathys killing me! Happiness is but a dream" is giving 6up 5oh cop out and it makes me insane everytime i hear it this song is just so GOOD
I love how at the end the second-to-last chorus cuts off early before restarting so it sounds like he's saying "I'll rearrange and reincarnate as whatever I can take", it really adds to the whole desperation of the song (also ignore this is literally the third time i'm commenting I like this song okay)
Alright, time to analyze because there’s so much of rio in this I don’t know how to explain it without going in depth. FIRST, the way he’s so blunt shows his distaste for life (or more accurately, the want to be human so he puts actual humans down). Having the reiterations of masks of hiding fear and trying to put up a better face just to appeal to his “father”. Gashu will never see Rio as a son. He knows that. So what does he do? He paints a new face. He “fixes” himself. After all, he “doesn’t care”. He has to work for approval and love because he’s worthless otherwise. Him changing himself is very much coping. It’s much easier to run away. Asking Gashu for his love is like going back to your abuser because it’s easier to find comfort with what you know. Gashu has always fixed him when he was too broken, a sign of love that Gashu’s previous self couldn’t show Kai and Sei (Rio’s counterpart). “I need you to like me” “I need you to like me” He’s LOOKING for approval. He needs SOMEONE to like him. But no one cares for him. No one likes him. However, the only human floor master that accompanied him fixed him. Safalin fixed Rio instead of Gashu. Only for a moment. His view is being challenged as he viewed all of the misdeeds Rio made. 2:36 as this final chorus goes, it glitches. After all, Ranger is broken (shot in the head by his father). He’s only reliving this because of Safalin giving him positive emotions. “Apathy’s killing me Happiness is but a dream” It’s garbled, growled almost to show that Rio finally see’s his mistakes. He finally has happiness, finally has apathy. He sobs, before he finally is let go. Therefore, very Riocore

Please keep in mind I could be totally wrong since I just plugged in what I heard into google translate. The first word, which is repeated four times, is 'duolsa', meaning 'more scatter' when directly translated from Chinese. The most likely true meaning of it, especially in this case, is 'rearranged'. The question, 'doshite', means 'once again' in Japanese. Therefore it reads: "Rearranged. Rearranged. Rearranged. Rearranged. Once again?" Again, please keep in mind this could be completely inaccurate! I plugged what I heard into google translate's detect language and moved around the letters until I got something that made sense.
