I wish Google would expose a first-party "GeminiApp" similar in nature to "DriveApp," "MailApp," etc. As it stands, individual/personal users that pay for access to the Gemini Pro model in their accounts cannot utilize that entitlement within the context of Google Apps Script. They have to open up an API key in GCP and pay (potentially) twice for the same product.
Why can't it do math, especially as simple as average? And how do we know it's training context to judge whether we should ask for functions or prompt AI for the answer. And heh, don't forget about Edit: Undo!
While it does do many calculations accurately, its not a best practice to rely upon LLM's for math especially when working in a tool like Sheets which is. I would say your experience will matter most, but like anything test, test, test, but prepare for situations that may not respond as expected.
