Id love to see computer craft. It would be nostalgic. Watching you make a quarry system with turtles started me programming. Now I work on embedded systems for a living
Back in the days of Red Power 2, I had an ambitious goal of making a frame based quarry that didn't just float in the sky but was a crane assembly with digging head. These days Create makes it relatively easy. But my goal was to automate that quarry with CC, and you can still do that with Create and CC! (Though there may be issues with moving a CC block while it's running code so the control computer will probably sit at home and run it all remotely.)
I got into modded minecraft by first watching direwolf20 when I was 12. One of the first things I did was a analog clock using redpower and or gates, which made me learn how logic gates work. Later I started learning java to create my own Mod. Now I am here, maybe I never beat modded minecraft or progressed for more than 20 hours or even created a proper mod by myself, but now I am 24, studied computer science, working as a software engineer. Modded minecraft ignited my passion for programming, I am happy to see similar stories. I could have never guessed how one youtube video could have changed my life 🙂
I'd love to see computercraft! Your lua tutorials are what got me interested in programming because you made it sound fun and not as intimidating as it seemed to me at first. If it's something that comes up in the series I would definitely watch it

I would really like to see computer craft in this series! There's not much on it on YT I feel, and you do a great job of explaining and showcasing mods :D Even something like "I got this script online, this is how we can set it up and use it" so it's not super technical would be nice.

I feel taking a different mod approach to every automation task may be an incredibly challenging undertaking as it will force you to try out new ways and play with new interactions. Ex: Instead of using a sink for an easy infinite water source, you use a pump from Create. You need an auto farm, you try to use little logistics as you dont need a crazy fast production (i dont believe) of basic foods. this may allow you to cover and explore more mods in the pack and we get to see the new things :D
Hey Dire, i think minecollanies could be super cool as an early game resource generation. In stead of building your own treefarm take a couple of lumberjacks for example

That work bench visual is "Visual WorkBench" I actually JUST found this mod this morning before watching this and was like "wow I want to give this a shot!" and to see it in this video is kind of neat lol. Honestly wanted to try it out because I love how Tinkers Construct keeps the items in the bench AND shows them on the bench while you're not in the UI for it.
Wow, I was not expecting to see Direwolf20 for 1.19 to be released so soon! Granted I'm not complaining in the slightest, I'm quite excited to see what this pack brings to the table! Love your content by the way Direwolf20!
Dartcraft, of which Forcecraft is a remake of, WAS quite powerful back in the day. Partly because of integration with other mods. Forcecraft, last I checked in 1.18, didn't have all the functionality back. Especially the grinder not doing ores, most of the mods it integrated with don't exist anymore, a way to repair the tools with liquid force (maybe, not certain about the infuser) and the time torch didn't work. Plus there are mods that do some of the things better now, like backpacks. But the force shears, force wrench, and healing rod are still there. The shears are wonderful for getting leather and feathers.

What are the odds!? I decided to come back to Minecraft after many many years and play a modpack. I download FTB and check out the modpacks and the top result is a Direwold 1.19 pack. "Wow, 1.19, I last really played 1.7, I wonder how current this is?" were my thoughts. Came to your channel only to find out it just came out! Crazy.
Base idea! Take over a vanilla Village, use the mods to defend it! Villagers give tons of OP enchants and make lots of items renewable, it could be cool seeing that interaction.
I'd love to see ComputerCraft in the lets plays again, I always enjoyed seeing CC in your older lets plays and server series. Also more integrated dynamics too.
I would like to see more CC too, unfortunatly not everyone enjoys the programming and stuff. Since it's kind of relevant, I'm not too much of a fan of Integrated Dynamics. It feels like programming, which I'm fine with, but I don't like that you have to build from scratch every time you want to implement a system.

There were times in ages past where you would do whole episodes dedicated to programing in computer craft. I watched them all and I did enjoy them even though computer craft is well beyond me. I'd like to see it again. I looks like there are some cool integrations between computer craft and Mine Colonies. I'd be interested in seeing it. As for getting started maybe you could try teching up with a magic mod or two. You always touch on magic mods but rarely make them the focus of the base. Might be a fun change of pace. Anyway I've been watching a long time now and whatever you do I'll be around.
I haven't played minecraft for about a year, because my legacy account required a migrate, and the process was a massive headache. I finally got minecraft support to walk me through the migration process a few days ago, and my motivation to play has returned. Just in time for a new Direwolf20 series it seems :D
For the mining gadget dilemma, maybe make it so that 3x3 keeps its current range, but 5x5 and higher start giving range penalties to compensate for laser diffusion? Also, I'd appreciate showing off computer craft, I never did understand that mod.
I find that hilarious but it's literally the abandoned mine colony that you found was just mine Colony houses just around down a little bit , even to the point of including the signs that tell you where to break the wall down.

Create is a great early game mod because it doesn't cost much to get into ore duplication, an easy way to make bread and slime, and a cheap way to automate farms quite early. It doesn't keep up with a lot of the tech mods later in the game, but by that point you can just use the alternator to provide power for other tech mods. During the mid to late game, I use create for the steampunk flavor it gives your world, and for the conveyor belts to transport items around if I don't want to use the pipes mod or mekanism pipes.
last time I used forcecraft, I made a set of armor that made you run way too fast and running around my base made me nauseous, lol edit: hyped! haven't watched / played minecraft in a while

Really wanna try out minecolonies since I think I remember playing it or something similar years ago and it sounds like its come pretty far since then. You know what would make for an excellent pack for Dire to play? One made SOLELY out of mods he's either never used or hasn't used in a very very long time.... Every pack he plays has like 200 mods and every season we see the exact same 5 or so mods... That only ever changes if a particular mod no longer exists or it's not in the pack.... And that's assuming he doesn't simply just add it 😂
I've never really understood the void totem one, if you fall in the void without flight, you're dead anyways, if you have flight, it doesn't kill you fast enough that you can't immediately get back out
I've been thoroughly enjoying these series but I keep wondering what happens to the unfinished ones? atm7 to the sky just stopped in the middle and now stoneblock 3 is in the end game.
He did say he's going to alternate between this and Stoneblock until he feels done with Stoneblock. ATM I think just got TOO grindy for him, was going to be very repetitive.
Unfortunately for Silent Gear, that bug still comes into play whenever you hit a modded entity with one of their custom tools/weapons in 1.18 as well. It gets somewhat annoying in ATM7, what with the load times and all.
Dear god I'd love to see computercraft content, especially if you deep dived into the code for a mini episode. Currently writing a bunch of computercraft scripts and the inspiration would be wonderful
Thanks for the new pack and seasons Dire. If you have any control over the ore generation, maybe tone down the tin a bit. It is appearing more often than any other ore, even copper.
I was hoping Botania would ready for 1.19.2 by the time this pack came out. I know it will affect world gen, but hopefully it will be added to the pack once it's released.
when you going to switch go the better loader fabric or quilt? forge doesnt appear to be catching up with them.... night and day difference lots of mods already switched.. runs much smoother etc.. just a matter of time .....
I haven’t played since SF3 was REALLY big, and that didn’t have world ore gen, how do i see what level each ore spawns in this pack? The tool tips just say “any level” for osmium for example. Is it on the ore, the raw or on a menu Interface? The places you’ll go book in the menu has its gen greyed out for me as well
There's a lot of QoL mods missing from the pack atm, such as veinminer or the one that makes crops grow quicker when pressing shift key multiple times for example. Will those be added?

That'd be nice, I started in the same terrain but I had a land-based village instead of the sky one, no meteor, and that beach to the south was some dark rock biome instead.
@@ChunkeeMunkee It didn't work for me. Still got the one with the village on the ground, and while the land shapes are similar to Dire's video, it is not exactly the same. Upvote for a world save on his seed right after creation.

That is the same for me. Except that I was not and am still not very good at programming, but I enjoyed spending hours trying to make something work.

The 1st direwolf20 pack I played barely had a 100 mods

You know what would make for an excellent pack for Dire to play?
One made SOLELY out of mods he's either never used or hasn't used in a very very long time....
Every pack he plays has like 200 mods and every season we see the exact same 5 or so mods... That only ever changes if a particular mod no longer exists or it's not in the pack.... And that's assuming he doesn't simply just add it 😂
I wish he would finish StoneBlock3 First.... I love this modpack

I've never really understood the void totem one, if you fall in the void without flight, you're dead anyways, if you have flight, it doesn't kill you fast enough that you can't immediately get back out
I've been thoroughly enjoying these series but I keep wondering what happens to the unfinished ones? atm7 to the sky just stopped in the middle and now stoneblock 3 is in the end game.
He did say he's going to alternate between this and Stoneblock until he feels done with Stoneblock. ATM I think just got TOO grindy for him, was going to be very repetitive.
is this one not multiplayer compatible? we have not been able to get it to work over LAN.
Unfortunately for Silent Gear, that bug still comes into play whenever you hit a modded entity with one of their custom tools/weapons in 1.18 as well. It gets somewhat annoying in ATM7, what with the load times and all.
Dear god I'd love to see computercraft content, especially if you deep dived into the code for a mini episode. Currently writing a bunch of computercraft scripts and the inspiration would be wonderful
Do you still build 9X9 after the changes to lighting? or go bigger since you can now?
Thanks for the new pack and seasons Dire. If you have any control over the ore generation, maybe tone down the tin a bit. It is appearing more often than any other ore, even copper.
I was hoping Botania would ready for 1.19.2 by the time this pack came out. I know it will affect world gen, but hopefully it will be added to the pack once it's released.

when you going to switch go the better loader fabric or quilt? forge doesnt appear to be catching up with them.... night and day difference lots of mods already switched.. runs much smoother etc.. just a matter of time .....
Can't wait to see all the new mods, and hopefully some programming with CC!

I haven’t played since SF3 was REALLY big, and that didn’t have world ore gen, how do i see what level each ore spawns in this pack? The tool tips just say “any level” for osmium for example. Is it on the ore, the raw or on a menu Interface?
The places you’ll go book in the menu has its gen greyed out for me as well
There's a lot of QoL mods missing from the pack atm, such as veinminer or the one that makes crops grow quicker when pressing shift key multiple times for example. Will those be added?

New world generation seems to be wonky in the game when using your world seed - could we have an Ep1 world save _pretty please?_
That'd be nice, I started in the same terrain but I had a land-based village instead of the sky one, no meteor, and that beach to the south was some dark rock biome instead.

@@ChunkeeMunkee It didn't work for me. Still got the one with the village on the ground, and while the land shapes are similar to Dire's video, it is not exactly the same.
Upvote for a world save on his seed right after creation.
@@buddhabuddy4208 Hmm, maybe it's RNG then - I tried generating one time with 1.0.1 right before bed and it worked. I'll try again later to see whether it was a fluke.
Where do I find the Direwolf20-Pack for 1.19? Certainly not on FTB, because the most recent version popping up there is for 1.12 and is from 2020
I know I'm late but a nice trade off for the Mining Laser; make it like a shotgun; less accuracy and range being the trade off for a wider spread. :)
New direwolf packs always such a joy. Nostalgia
