- Geaux Nation's Chessa Bouche sits down with LSU women's basketball star Hailey Van Lith for an exclusive look at who the point guard is when she's not competing to go to a Final Four in this year's NCAA Tournament.
To all the people who wanna hate on her, and downplay her talent as a basketball player…..there’s a difference between having an opinion on someone versus being a bully and intentionally trying to tear someone down….Some of you intentionally try to tear her down. Now let me remind you of all the things Hailey has accomplished due to basketball: Kobe Bryant noticed her and visited her old high school to watch her play, he also mentored her, gave her autographed sneakers and books, he even wanted her to be a mentor for Gigi. Then she got to be on McDonalds All American, and got to travel overseas to play for Team USA and won the FIBA World Cup….4 times winning 4 gold medals, and she’s currently in a commercial with Adidas and has been sponsored by Adidas and even Nike. How many of you have gotten to accomplish any of those things from playing basketball? My guess is none of you. That’s not even including Team USA, but to be noticed and mentored by someone as big as Kobe is an accomplishment in of itself. It’s one thing to have a talent, but it’s another thing to actually be good at your talent and for Hailey to have accomplished all of that….she definitely has the talent for it. You’re only hating on her because you wish you could’ve done all of that and even more, but you don’t have the guts to admit it. Hailey is out there practicing and getting better, making money, and living her life….those of you hating on her, what are you doing with your lives? other than watching her bending your phone screens and picking on her? That won’t get you anywhere.

Well, I can’t understand for you……. That’s your work.
Nobody’s talking about yesterday, who she’s met, her net worth or any of that.
The bottom line is NONE of that is connected to YOU and not matter how much you see yourself in her, you don’t benefit from any of that.
The point is she was NOT on the team last year and has nothing to do with any of that success.
She IS the 4th leading scorer and we’re treating her like she is the second leading scorers.
She should have stayed at Louisville which is a top 10-15 program
She was afraid to be the leader and/or became threatened when a top point guard entered the portal to go to Louisville, five days later she left for LSU
IF you even understand basketball you would know that she’s struggling and hurting her team and is being coddled by people like you and her coach.
The Louisville coach wouldn’t do it and neither will pro coaches.
She’s not going to be in the WNBA.
Overseas, possibly.
She’s leaving LSU after this year. Not to go to the WNBA but she has not said.
I think she will keep quiet THIS time and then leave.
As long as she’s starting and playing heavy minutes, they will not repeat.
