I remember playing this in High School. Sadly none of my friends ever played this, because most kids were into Call of Duty and GTA. Whereas I was really into Mass Effect, BioShock, Outlast, and Half-Life.
I played all Bioshock series but somewhat i kept forgetting to play Minerva's Den. This great video made me remember so will play it right now i think! I really enjoyed the video and i loved your voice! Keep up the good work! Subbed and looking forward to more of your videos !!!
I love it, you are great and I hope you make it big in youtube, i've seen all 3 Bioshock retrospective and you have not much to envy to great youtubers like Liam triforce and such, keep the good work
Minerva's Den is fantastic and I would recommend it to every Bioshock fan that still haven't played it yet. My biggest critic to it is that after some point, Wahl keeps sending enemies, without fail, after his radio interventions. This seems like a cheap way to try to add tension. Bioshock has always managed tension in such a beautiful way without having to appeal to such repetitive mechanics. Nevertheless, I still loved it :)
Recently replayed Minerva's Den as I've been trying to grab all of the achievements in the BioShock Collection. One of my favourite DLCs, that I've ever played. I only found out that it existed a year before the release of the remastered collection. Been following your series as I've been replaying the series and I'm currently working on a review and retrospective of the first game. Great video and I'm liking the series so far!
Awesome! Count yourself lucky that the Bioshock 2 multiplayer trophies were removed for the collection, those were a nightmare to get. I’d love to see your review when you finish it!
@@AustinAshworth I'll chuck you a link to it when it's up! Probably will post it under this reply :) Yeah BioShock 2 multi player achievements, no thanks!
I played it last year for the first time and was surprised to see the DLC so neglected and the completion rate for it being so low, given how great it actually is and how it combines all the best aspects of 2, mixes them up and gives you a story that complements the setting quite well. For all the complaints people had with Infinite-s DLC, you would think they would check this one.
Came here bc I got the Bioshock 2 video in my recommended, bringing all your stuff and your amazing I wish I had the same dedication and drive. Please keep it up I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Bioshock Infinite, as for me it’s a love it or hate it game I could say a lot about.
Thank you so much for the kind words! I will warn you that Infinite won’t be my next video so don’t hold your breath but I absolutely will cover it before too long. You are right, it’s a game with a ton to discuss.
@@AustinAshworth absolutely I actually decided to replay it recently and it IS long so take all the time you need to get around to it! I’ll still enjoy your other stuff I’m sure!
I'm not even big on Fullbright's MO a la Gone Home and such, but they really hit the home run with this one and the story of Milton matched my own so much it close to broke me. Christ, I tried
@@AustinAshworth I've seen all of your videos immediately upon finding your channel, I love retrospectives and yours are very nice considering the size of your channel! Keep at it but be sure not to overwork yourself.
Wow I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to hear that! As someone who’s watched each of my videos, do you have any feedback on what I need to do better? I think they are gradually improving but it’s tough without an outside perspective. I have no experience in this sort of stuff so I’m figuring it out as I go.
@@AustinAshworth Honestly I don't know, if there was any glaring mistakes with your videos that I would've seen I don't think I would've watched them all so fast... I'm sorry to be of little help but I agree with you in that your videos are getting better with every upload. I think you'll have to figure this out as you go but you're definitely on the right path!
Oh yeah, Minerva's Den is easily the best dlc in the series. It makes Burial at Sea look like a cheap, edgy fanfic in comparison. It's among the greatest expansions I've played in any game and I would say that it's on par with the expansions of the dlc in Fallout: New Vegas. (That's especially high praise from me, as New Vegas is my favorite game.) It's one more reason to get Bioshock 2.
@@AustinAshworth I dont know to be honest. I'm not tech savvy. My husband has my computer set up and it ran every game smoothly except Bioshock 2 Remastered. I had to play the original and lower all the graphics settings. If I recall Scout still crashed my computer. So yeah used Scout about 5 times before I was like alright just gonna come around the corner with a shotgun then. During the Adam harvesting sections with all the explosions and splicers I had one crash and then just annoying buffering and lag. Playing the OG and lowering the settings fixed all these problems though. I have to say though the Remastered was beautiful for how much of it I got to play.
Proof that a high sub count doesn't = quality
Thank you! Hopefully the sub count will keep growing tho haha

Of course it counts! Much appreciated!
One of the best DLC’s I’ve played in a while, I still remember the story. Great video! 👍🏻
Thanks! It's definitely up there among the greats!
Hey it's that guy from Reddit. Loving the series, keep it up!
Thank you so much!

I’m so glad! I was hoping to get some more attention on the game because it really is the one that everyone forgets about in the series.
This channel deserves more love. Can't wait to see what you have to say about Infinite.
Thank you so much! It won’t be my next video but I have started to work on an Infinite Retrospective. Stay tuned!

Thanks for putting so much effort into your videos, if you keep it up i'm sure you'll blow up in no time!

What a great video! I personally loved Minerva's den. Always thought it was underappreciated. Subbed!

Watching these makes me want to play the bioshock series. I never really gave the first one a fair chance
It’s never too late to dive in! They hold up wonderfully!

That’s a good observation! Sometimes the threat of enemies hiding just out of sight is more effective than actual combat encounters

It would be really cool if we got a whole series of small vignette style stories in Rapture similar to Minerva’s Den!
Saw you on Reddit and not disappointed. Subbed :)

Can’t promise when, but can promise it will come eventually!

This is not as much a retrospective as it is a review of an old game.
There's a difference.
