You spoke to my soul - from writing in a cemetery to Mr. Insecurity holding you back. Although I've been writing most my life in various formats, I am finally writing a book that I will not let myself get distracted from ... except maybe starting my own TH-cam channel... or two... hmm, Procrastination and Distraction have surpassed Insecurity in in writing life. What are my dreams you ask? To have a successful writing career (grand or self sustaining)) (I like friends too. Which way is the village?)
Thanks for sharing this! When I was a teenager, I finessed my way into a meeting with a big studio to pitch my script for a film. They wanted to tear apart my idea and change it, which as a teenager, I wasn’t ready for. I thought I ruined my chance and gave up writing for years. I’ve just picked it back up, and we’ll see what else I can pull off. Good luck to you on your journey! Let me know if I can help in any way (this is your old co-worker Connor).
Always good to hear from you, Connor (sorry, I'm not getting notifications when people comment or I would've replied sooner). I've heard studios are so much harsher than publishing houses, so I can't even imagine how awful that must've been, especially as a teenager. I watched your podcast on George of the Jungle recently and it was so much fun. If you're putting half that kind of insight into your scripts, you're gonna do great!
