Bob was the Shakespeare of our generation. This was written in the 60's & could well have been written about our country today. 😎✌Jim

It was a very pleasant surprise to hear a Bob Dylan song on your channel, and this song is one of my many favorites from him. Bob Dylan is considered one of the greatest folk / rock lyricists of all time. He won a Nobel Prize in Literature for the poetic lyrics in his huge catalog of great songs. This is one of his earlier songs, and reflects on the coming massive cultural changes that took place in the 1960's. The instrument he is playing along with the guitar is called a harmonica, and Bob Dylan used it on many of his songs. It is commonly used in many rock songs. I hope you have many more Bob Dylan songs on your channel, and here are a few suggestions. Blowin In The Wind, It Ain't Me Babe, Mr. Tambourine Man, A Hard Rain Is Gonna Fall and Like a Rolling Stone.

Keep going with Dylan. That’s a harmonica he is playing. Try The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carolle from the same album.

He played guitar and harmonica. He played the harmonica with an apparatus that was secured around his neck so he could play the harmonica with his mouth while at the same time strum his guitar.

Dylan has a huge body of great work, and his songs have been covered by many other great artists as well. This was written during the tumultuous 1960's, a time of the civil rights movement, the anti-Vietnam war movement, early days of the women's movement, the environmental movement, a time of cultural and spiritual awakening. Another great song with a similar theme is Sam Cooke's "A Change is Gonna Come."

"Make Love, Not War", switch from supporting the Military Industrial Complex & starve the War machine, & don't suppress those kids that are demonstrating against injustice, & don't be a stumbling block to a progressive future, "get outta the new one". "The loser ( the anti war mvmt was unpopular at first)" now, will be later to win"..... He wrote lyrics like he was an OT prophet, in a Protest Song, style called the "Talking Blues". A lot of tunes favoring Civil Rights too, in his early years.
