I really appreciate the fact that you’re so open about your off and on plant enthusiasm. I always feel so guilty for not staying all in all the time when I’ve got these living beings relying on me.
Hi Becca! Cacti and succulents are really great with having their roots removed. I usually choose a pot for them based on their plant matter size, not roots, and remove what roots I need.
Oh that beautiful pot that kept missing out! Like the bridesmaid of multiple weddings! 😅 I think those cacti, in their varied terracotta pots, are going to look AMAZING grouped together in your greenhouse. Brilliant video! So enjoyable 🤗
I started using tongs a few years ago, was Nicole using them? I remember seeing someone use them and thought ‘of course!’ A tip I have learned though is using metal tongs though .. my silicon tipped ones just would have too many embedded spines and would be paranoid next time I cooked that some would get in my food (even after running through dishwasher). I would hold up my cleaned tongs to the light and still see little needles, you know …. Just like your skin when you think you have gotten all of them ;)
I bet it was nicole! She’s so smart about it because she’s terrified of the spines 😂 hilarious. & yeah now I need to go through with tweezers on mine to get all the spines out ughh
I'm new to your channel and I love it. I'm definitely finding a scoop like yours, planning to make a folding table, and if I see that cactus pot, I'm buying it.
Some grow on regular dirt and looks like overnight and looks like i need a parner amarillo down the street from b&b blue durango if intested easy to run small biz
99 cent store sells salad tongs they are hard plastic, bigger & curved so the cactus only hits the sides when used for replanting. I'm careful not to squish but lightly hold plants when using them. (If you have a heavy hand I guess you could line the sides with foam bandage tape or pads for foot blisters.)
When I visited Greece for the first time I wanted to go hiking. When I hike, I like to forage. I was very set on finding figs (successss) and prickly pears. Let me tell you, it’s not worth it. Just buy them in the supermarket 😂 They’re yummy, but their taste is like watered down watermelon or dragon fruit. They’re just not that sweet or flavorful. Tasty, but not worth the pain. 👌🏽
Hey Becca, I overheard you now a bunch of times saying that you won't live forever and that you will move in some time, and I am interested in why that is. It's definitely ok if you don't want to share any details, I just thought I might ask in case I missed some details. Love your video as always!
@@BeccaDeLaPlants interesting, thanks, I did not know that! First I was questioning why you put so much effort into the plant room and the greenhouse because all the work is so time consuming and also cost intensive I would guess for the amount of time you actually plan to stay here. But then I thought about how so many people don't do the things they want and in the end don't live their live how they want to because they think it doesn't pay off, for one reason or another. I am one of those people. I lived in an appartment with roommates for a few years and never bothered to furnish and decorate my room to my liking because I knew, I would move out in 2 or 3 years, but It never felt like home. Now I live in a different appartment and from day 1 I made sure that that won't happen again. I love my room now and I love living here. So thank you for the inspiration, you really opened my eyes there!
I use medical gloves instead of gardening gloves when I repot. It allows me to still feel the (non-prickly) plant without getting the undersides of my fingernails dirty. With gardening gloves, I cannot feel any of the details and features of the plant and substrates.
“I am going to have a whole cactus section…” Music to my ears. 🌵🌵🌵
Seriously. I don't think I was ever really into cacti until I started watching you and Becca. Now I want all of them.
Omg yesss 😍😍
I really appreciate the fact that you’re so open about your off and on plant enthusiasm. I always feel so guilty for not staying all in all the time when I’ve got these living beings relying on me.
Oh of course! I figure that if *I* get burnt out in plants, other people do too and it’s always good to normalize things that seem we’re not alone! 🥰🌿
A tour of all your cacti and succulents would be great!🌵🌵🌵🌵
Definitely!! Once they’re all set up I’ll make a video :)
I love love love long repotting videos!! I am also in a phase where I’m not rlly excited about my plants rn ahaha. I blame the seasons changing
Ugh yes season changes definitely affect it :(
I cannot WAIT to have the right space for a collection of cacti 🌵🥰 all of these guys look great in their new homes
Thank you!! :)

Omg that sounds so spooky!! I love it!

I was so stressed during the whole repot! So glad you came out (mostly) uninjured haha.

As soon as you said prickly pear, I was like ooooh girl you are brave 😂 They’re the worst! But they’re so cute! Lol
Hahahah I know 😭😭😂 it still got me
@@BeccaDeLaPlants I need good light and tweezers after every time 😂
I personally would love to see other videos on here of your other hobbies!! 😊
Aww!! I post a lot on my vlog channel of my outside-of-plants adventures :) th-cam.com/users/beccadelacreations
@@BeccaDeLaPlants omg yay! So glad you linked this!!!
I wonder if a grater glove would work for cactus handling (it's like chain mail gloves I use for grating cheese lol)
Oooh that would be nice!! I’ve seen those at chipotle when they cut the steak 😂
Wait, you hate repotting but love a fresh bag of soil? This is why I love you(r channel) 😂
Hahahahahaha omg I’m such a hypocrite 😂😂😂😂

Man, I wish I could do vlogmas, but I really don’t think I have the time or energy for that at the moment 😅😂. Someday it could be fun!
Oh my gosh right 😂😂 the holidays are so draining, I can’t imagine adding daily uploads
Hi Becca! I haven't been around in a while, but I'm back. 😘
Aww hey Julie!! Glad to have you back :)
Same here, love my plants, but there’s other hobby’s I do ,as long as we don’t kill them is 👍😅

Hahaha yes!
Too funny, I just bought tongs from the dollar tree yesterday for repotting my cactus 😂 I’m so nervous to do it!
Lol yess!!! It’s so easy with tongs
Thanks for the video! I’m definitely investing in a pair of 🌵tongs.
Yess!! A necessity lol
When will you have your shed done very excited to see it.
I think in a month or less :)
Becca, is your top ready made or me made? It's lovely!
Actually ready made!! I got it from Nuuly :) trying it out and really loving so far!
I don’t know why, but I am dying laughing at your confusion to Siri chiming in. 🤣
Hahaha she always comes out of nowhere and I’m like… ma’am??? Lmao
I lost interest I'm plants for a bit, but my niece is getting into plants and asked for some foe her birthday and my interest is reinvigorated!

@@BeccaDeLaPlants thanks! :)
My local Agway has a huuuuge variegated Prickly Pear that I eye every time I'm there. 😍
Omg loooove!!!
I do plants on my channel but will definitely not be doing vlogmas. Four little kiddos so ....barely any time 😭. I do love your channel though!
Agh idk how anyone has the time!!
I've been feeling the same about my garden! Maybe it's in the air this season 🥴
Yess😖😖

💯👍
I would cut that crooked cactus and rerout it. I couldn’t live with it like that it would drive me coucou!
Lol! I considered it 😂
Stand up against corruption, dirty politics and human slavery. IT'S ALL WRONG.✊🏾💯
Omg como habla😅
Honestly its quiet sad to see you build this greenhouse for what feels like an eternity only for when its finished you cant fully enjoy it.
I know hahah :( hopefully we can come back to it.
