    As an amputee rider ( above knee)these pedals have been a game changer and I doubt I'd still be riding without them - They are brilliant pedals !

    As a double amputee, I absolutely love my Remtechs. They’ve been awesome. Very similar feel to SPD’s with multi-angle cleats but a much easier to hit “sweet spot” to be connected.

    I've ridden clipless for years and never thought I needed to change but tried Magped last year and never looked back. They are an absolute gamechanger. The freedom of flats with security of clipless. I dont know why more people aren't talking about them either, so good!!

      Can you pull on them as hard as you can on clipless?

    • @midlifeshredder
      @midlifeshredder  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@snek9353 for the Hustle Labs I’ve pulled on them pretty hard when pedaling and I w have not come off. The only times they have come off on rides is when my foot wasn’t fully on the pedal so the magnet wasn’t fully seating with the shoe plate. By nature these won’t be has secure as clips but again, you’re getting the best of both worlds so there are compromises.

    Remtech is worth the wait! I've been riding mine for 2+ years now and I'm not looking back! The float is kind to my 62 year old knees but more importantly, they release in a way that is a more natural movement. You roll off rather than swinging your ankle out. I throw down a lot of torque and I have found that there is less unintentional disengagement than my Mallets. (BTW, float can be reduced by using their long pins).

    • @midlifeshredder
      @midlifeshredder  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good point on the pins. I have t tried the longer ones. They feel good right out of the box. 🤙🏼

    Getting a shoe with a longer cleat box and setting the metal plate height is also key to a good experience. Really like my Hustle Lab pedals.

    Make sure to grease the Enduros regularly (depending on your use profile). It's a day and night experience after re-greaseing a dry pedal.

    I've tried both the Magpeds and the Remtechs, but ultimately went back to flats. The Magpeds felt like they didn't grip enough while the Remtechs were almost too strong. I couldn't adjust my foot very well with them. I'm attempting, off and on, to go clipless; but, like you, I'm of the age where crashing during the learning process isn't a real hoot. Not to mention the knee and hip twisting that goes on. I think if I was doing more techy or hardcore DH stuff I'd give the magnetic pedals another look. But I've managed to stop lacerating my shins with my flats, so I'll stick with them for now.

    I rode clipless for years until I moved to where the trails were far more technical. After a few crashes that could have been easily avoided had I been running flats, I switched to flats.

  • @uptopmikep7065
    @uptopmikep7065 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I really like clip-less pedals for the connection and control while riding. I swapped to flats after a couple of small accidents because I could not disconnect from the clips. Not a good situation!!! Consequently I ride flats for the safety while riding off-road trails. Much safer and easier to bail out. I'll have to give magnetics a try.

    Thank you for talking about these. I've been a bit reticent to spend the cash to try them out, partly because I don't know anyone who rides the things so I didn't really have a trusted source.

    This is the comparison I've been waiting for! My only complaint with the MagPeds is the magnet position and noises. I've been curious if the RemTechs solved this.

      Yeah I don’t have any noises but I have no compression on the magnet pads that puts them closer to the plate on my shoes! And the longer pins only in the front! I also have the locator plate covers! MagPeds

    • @IvanPrskalo
      @IvanPrskalo 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@midlifeshredder I have actually solved clicking on the left one.. Never on the right pedal... But in the meantime, spindle on the right pedal needed to be serviced so now I took them both to my mechanic for bearing checkup, greasing and whatever he does.. I ride them exclusively on FiveTen Hellcat shoes. I have tried on other ones like Northwave but it seem they work the best with 5-10... To eliminate clicking I have fiddled a lot with height and position and still managed to get only one correct.. 🙄
