I think the Rays play in a mix of DisneyWorld, their AAA team in Durham, NC, and possibly ... possibly in one of the future potential expansion cities (i.e. Nashville, Mexico City, Montreal).
It's actually kind of exciting ... I would never have a single thought to going to that dump that they currently play. However, if they went to Disney World, I'd travel JUST to see them play there.
The MLBPA would never agree to a rotating city schedule. Way too many logistical nightmares. Let them play at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, it’s a decent size minor league park and the Rays don’t draw anyway.
One outside possibility for a field for the Rays, if they want more capacity, is a football stadium like at UCF. The dodgers did something similar for a year or two when they first moved to LA, they played in the Coliseum where the USC Trojans play football. If I remember hearing correctly it was a very short left field, with a net up and a home run line 30 or 40 feet up the net. Would be…interesting, haha.

Saw a rumor they could come here to South Carolina since the Riverdogs are affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. Could possibly meet Bill Murray if that happens.
I agree, Adam. It makes sense. Plus, a silver lining of it would be an opportunity to grow the fanbase in Central Florida. Hopefully, the Rays and Disney can work something out.
I read one of the biggest issues with temporary relocation out of FL is the travel schedule for the Rays and visiting teams. Usually they schedule road trips regionally so teams may play the Rays, Marlins, and say Atlanta on a road swing to minimize travel. Having the Rays in say Oakland would present a lot of challenges. Not to mention having to relocate players and team employees and their family's. Fixing the dome doesn't make sense with the cost and the fact that a new stadium is already in development. No easy solution.
It is still weird that they settled for building a new stadium in St Pete when the main problem for a majority of fans is the drive over the bay takes too long to make daytime games with rush hour traffic when I lived down there. Was hoping they would build over by the Ebor City, that would have been a cool location. Wonder if they'll go to Orlando for the short term next Season?

for a little bit.🤷🏼♀️ Like you say putting it out there. 😄👍🏼
Thanks Adam👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
is there a lot of parking?
Saw a rumor they could come here to South Carolina since the Riverdogs are affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. Could possibly meet Bill Murray if that happens.
Not a Ray's fan but in 70s The Crankees and Mets shared Shea Stadium while the Yankees stadium was remodeled. Why not Miami Marlins stadium.
Think about starting in Montreal for the beginning year?
Too bad no one knew that Tampa was in a major hurricane area.
would the storm damage at the Trop be an insurance claim ?
MLB will never return to Oakland
My cat thanks you for the squirrel footage.
Great stuff. I think Disney is the best option. Could see them sharing Loan Depot, though.
Did you get that shirt at Disney?
