I just got to play this song in an honor band and the director of our band was Todd stalter himself and I gotta say he is a really good director as well as composer. He wrote this song about a new puppy he had gotten and tried to make this piece like how the puppy was, going around the house making a mess and everything. But then you have the times where it is nice, calm, and cuddly. It is sad because he said that the dog past away not too long ago but it is kind of beautiful that his dog is able to live on through this song.
Why are they playing so slow? My band is a middle school band and we actually played it at the *right* tempo. (I'm not tryna be hateful, I'm just disappointed)
I got to play this under the direction of Todd stalter and let me tell you, this song is like, really fricken fast at the correct tempo so them trying to focus on tone quality over playing at the correct tempo is fully understandable

It's not about tempo it's about having the right sound quality and tone.
