Rex exhibits more of a ARC trooper personality in terms of free thinking. Cody represents the pinnacle of what "average" clone troopers are meant to be. And in the last season of the clone wars, the playbook the Republic were using was drawn up by Rex and Echo. Rex's outside the box thinking is more valuable than someone who can regurgitate the manual at you. Plus Rex looks cooler lol
Commander Cody represents the Pinnacle of the average clone did you go rewatch Clone Wars the only way you think this is because you probably only remember the missions Rex goes on Rex goes on small reconnaissance missions Rex doesn't get into scrappy one on ones all out Wars rex and his squad get what they need and get out was cody takes on more of a clone commando role in a larger army he's the top of Arc Trooper graduates when it comes to arc Trooper training he's got reconnaissance down to a art form he can do surveillance he hand to hand you can do survival he can do full frontal assault he can do everything another reason you feel that Rex has an arc Trooper personality is one because he's always around three other arc Troopers throughout the whole series because there are three arc Troopers in his squad and that he had his inhibitor chip removed that's why he's so free thinking and if he was so free thinking and upstanding as a clone he would have helped the rest of them and when it comes to design I respect your opinion but cody shits on rex all day every day
I think it can be argued that Cody was the better tatician considering his ability to maintain point rain when all the other Jedi general were either unable to fight or seperated from the group.

This was a great vid.. thank you . Please do more. I'm a huge Rex fan but after you explained this so well, I definitely agree. How about pre sarlacc pit boba vs wiser boba fett
I think Rex would win in a fight against Cody because of Rex's out of the box thinking in a battle while Cody sticks to his standard clone programming in dealing with a situation so Rex would have the advantage of being able to win over Cody in a fight. Plus, in Episode 1 of the final season, while Cody did hear Rex out about Echo possibly being alive, he didn't actually consider the fact that it may be true even though Rex pointed out how the strategies the Separatists were using against to counter them in the battle of Anaxes were strategies him and Echo made and just told Rex that he was just having misplaced hope. This shows to me at least, that Cody wouldn't be able to win in a fight where both him and Rex have the opportunity to gain an advantage over one another by thinking outside the box because Cody wouldn't even consider an option such as that being possible even with proof that it actually can be accomplished being presented right in front of him. Great video and hope you're doing well with Theory Sabers & Vader Episode 2; would love to win a saber if given the chance in the next giveaway. Hope you enjoy my audition as well, May the Force Be with You, Always.
Rex is more individual. Free thinker, has more tactical advantage. And Rex fought alongside Anakin. Have fantastic day too. May the Force be with you always too
I think the free thinker is more to do with the fact that rex is just more of a main character in TCW in general so we just get more of him as a character. As for tactics, Cody is definitely ahead on that. He's a marshall commander and would have led more larger battles whereas rex worked well in more infiltration and individual skill type missions. Cody feels like a commando whereas Rex is like an ARC trooper
Wish u gave actual battle scenarios that happened in books, comics, shows, and movies that would explain their hand to hand combat prowess and a search and destroy scenario that would lead to a battle of life and death. I mean like using actual evidence from lore
I think we need a video after this about Fox vs either Rex of Cody. I mean that guys just doesn’t care about anyone and would be pretty ruthless Order 66 or not.

I really like captain Rex armour so much, espeacially his first battle armour. I remembered I bought Lego Star Wars and it includes Rex armour. I was very young but I knew that he has coolest clone armour out of everyone
Cody. The only thing I like about Rex is that he is 501st. Besides that, he is a goody two shoes version of Jango. In fact, I think he was a better character in the early seasons of Clone Wars than the latter. He went downhill in the later seasons and everything after.
I was wondering if you would do a video on what Cody would done in Rex’s boots. What if Krel took over the 212th instead. Would Cody let it play out or would he draw a line sooner.
Rex has far more character and we've seen far more of him, his tactics could throw Cody off with how unorthodox they are adopted from anakin. but I feel Cody is the better fighter and overall would win this fight, rex could hesitate but Cody wouldn't though he'd regret it later.
How is Cody more experienced if his experience is purely based on tactical strategies?? If Rex has been trained the same way as Cody but also has unorthodox tactics, it’s not going to Cody!! If I’m trained to shoot on one foot vs someone who’s trained on both, they’re going to have the experience because they’re used to more than one way of shooting
Cody and Rex are the clone mirrors of Obi-Wan and Anikan… Cody being very principled to the rules, whereas Rex is free thinking, as you said. More heart on sleeve type of guy
I keep bringing this up Clone Wars S1 E16 The Hidden Enemy. Slick almost single handedly kicked Cody's and Rex's butts. However between the two Cody held his own better in hand to hand combat while Rex got his leg broken when Slick put him in a leg lock. I disagree with the video H2H combat would have to go to Cody. It was also Cody who figured out Slick would be hiding in the vents, so we know Cody can also think on his feet. I agree that in a firefight Rex is better just because serving with Anakin he always finds himself in the middle of them and having to fight his way out. Rex is also better at improvising and getting creative again because he's developed this skill serving alongside Anakin, and that makes him very dangerous. BUT as the saying goes if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. If Rex goes in just hoping to wing it against Cody he will lose. He needs to come up with a plan, unfortunately for him Cody is the better tactician. In summary Rex's strengths in firefights and improvisation make him a dangerous opponent, however Cody is the master tactician he will take into account all of Rex's strengths and come up with plans and back up plans to defeat Rex. A smart soldier is a deadly soldier. Plus when all the chips are down Cody is the better H2H combatant. Just my opinion guys but I think the logic behind it is sound.
I love Commander Cody but I believe Rex would be the victor in a one-on-one fight. Remember that Cody is a Marshal Commander, meaning he is one of the highest ranking clone officers in the Clone Army. We often see Cody staying back and giving orders rather than directly fighting because he mostly a tactician. There's a reason Rex states in CW7 that he didn't like being a commander, as being a commander limits the amount of time spent fighting on the frontlines of a battlefield which he preferred and was moreso able to do as a Captain. I think Rex's inclination of being a frontline fighter would help him prevail in this fight.
What do you mean Rex stays back more than cody cody goes to almost every single large scale invasion or special forces tactical operation there is throughout the Clone Wars where racks only does small reconnaissance missions and sometimes gets into a medium sized gun fight he's never been in a full-scale invasion or attack cody became a commander because he was that good Rex isn't a commander cody he doesn't have that level of tactical innovation and combat experience cody does that's not shiting on Rex though he's one of the best of the best but he is light years behind cody when it comes to a Frontline fighter
I doubt theory will see this but apparently Neil deGrasse Tyson proved that 8 and 9 couldn't have happened in reality. So in episode 7, Starkiller base sucks up the energy of a star and uses that energy to destroy the new republic. Like 8 planets. He saw the droid attack flare, immediately turned around and shot the droid. Cody didn’t pick up on it until rex told him to relax and then pulled off the clone helmet, revealing it was a droid. I mean obi wan may not have had the force gifted too him. But he's still a sith killer. Ngl. Kenobi showcased obi wan at what I'd consider peak ability. He's no warrior, but he kicked Darth mauls ass twice with just a couple moves on BOTH occasions where they faced off directly. And imagine, maul was busy fighting and conquering for a LONG TIME before his death and obi wan on the other hand hadn't and still his connection too the force helped him out every time. Second time he didn't even have anger about it. Piff paff done.
Almost the entire community love rex but if you had to get into a gunfight or throw hands with kodi Cody's gonna whoop him nine ways til Sunday I'm team Cody all the way since day one sure Captain Rex might be the fan favourite but kodi has more combat experience he's the head of the 212 attack Battalion literally the full frontal assault unit of the Republic not to mention he's better than any arc Trooper since he's had arc training and I'd say he's better than half of the Clone Commandos when it comes to Tactics and specialised training cody is the definition of built different
Cody is a commander who knows battle plans and tactics better then actual combat, Rex is a captain who faught on the front lines of every battle he participated in and survived from the very beginning of the war to the very end all on the front lines of danger, i love both but its pretty clearly Rex who wins
So a genuine STAR WARS character (Commander Cody) vs a Jake Wars Dinsey Canon Glorified Fan Fiction character (Captian Rex) oh geez I wonder who would win

Love these guys
Plo Koon vs AOTC Anakin Skywalker
Rex wouldn’t want to fight
For a second I read "Can Rex Beat Box..." XD
PLO Koon Vs Kit Fisto
Yessssss more of this!
Cody is a commander who knows battle plans and tactics better then actual combat, Rex is a captain who faught on the front lines of every battle he participated in and survived from the very beginning of the war to the very end all on the front lines of danger, i love both but its pretty clearly Rex who wins
The dirty fighter is always the best fighter. Because they are willing to do anything to win
So a genuine STAR WARS character (Commander Cody) vs a Jake Wars Dinsey Canon Glorified Fan Fiction character (Captian Rex) oh geez I wonder who would win
Cody in my opinion. He's the highest rank for a reason. Also the man straight up likes to fist fight droids. He's able overpower commando droids in hand to hand combat.
