I just want to clear some common misunderstandings for any Castlevania fans, or people who have just heard rumors.
Castlevania is based off the 1986 games (they continue to make more, latest version was released in 2021)
Sumi and Taka are NOT twins. Infact they are not even related. (It was confirmed)
Castlevania is NOT an anime!! It was animated by "Powerhouse Animations" (America animated) so its an "animated series."

I absolutely LOVE gothic literature!!
I highly recommend the original Dracula novel! It's interesting to see how modern media has changed or just completely omitted some things. Though it's important not to hold the characters to the moral standards we have today.
The book was written in a time where people thought differently, there _will_ be stereotypical gender roles, inaccurate science, and a little bit of prejudice.
Note: prejudice is _not_ racism, there's a difference.
I've been planning to read it for a while now. And I've read many old-fashioned books, I'm aware of the older stereotypes. Thank you for the suggestion!

Because I also love vampires but I focus on the actual folklore (which is btw not only from Ireland it's from all around the world and everywhere it's different) and half of these and the abilities are incorrect for most species. Fictional vampires like hellsing, Castlevania, twilight etc yes but not the actual folklore. Btw I don't mean this in a harsh way or sum. Just wanted to add onto that lol

Dracula is not "king of the vampires" He is just a very popular Rumanian (!) vampire with the only thing that made him different to other vampires being 1: he put people on spikes (forgot the English word) but his father did that too and 2: someone wrote a book about him. That's it. Nothing about king of the vampires or anything. At least not in actual folklore. The thing your talking about is fictional stuff again. All these movies and books made him look more special than he was lol and again I don't wanna sound mean it's just that vampire folklore was my very first obsession
@@gayz3r well it's kinda hard talking about all vampires in General if their stories are that different. as an example: Venice vampires can survive in sunlight unlike Romanian vampires who can be decapitated unlike Pennangalan vampires and there's also energy vampires who don't even drink blood. See what I mean lol?
Again, this video isn't based off true folklore. It's based off the castelvania series. Ofc it won't be perfect in the sense of true vampirism

Amazing video but I had a question? Why did Grell say that Dracula was from Irish folklore? Is that just what Grell knows of Dracula due to where she lives(England) or something else? Because Dracula is based on Vlad the Impaler who is from Romania. The first mention of Dracula(specifically the correlation between the name and being a vampire) was in Bram Stoker’s book. And that Dracula was based on Vlad the Implaler. I’m just a bit confused where the Irish part of that comes in TvT. Maybe I’m missing something, if I am then I apologize and just wish to know how you got that. Sorry for the inconvenience :)
I'm aware that Dracula is based on Bram Stoker's book. But if you look it up, Stoker had an interest in Irish folklore and got many ideas from that.

He's more of an ambiguous character (not good or bad) in the anime and beginning of the manga. He kinda just takes whomever's side he gets stuff from. But later in the manga, he does become more of an antagonist.
