i shower and do my hair everyday before sleeping and it looks so beautiful and defined .. but when i sleep and wake up in the morning i find it soo messy and half straight from the top .. thanks for this helpful video .. and i wish u do a curly hair routine for mousse and cream
Do you sleep with your hair wet or damp? If you do, then you’ll get a lot of frozen and destroy your curl pattern. It could also be the products you use that weigh it down overnight.
Me, too. I used a real loose scrunchie to pineapple my hair up. But, I found that it stretches the curl, and I need to re-wet it in the morning to curl it back up. Braids just shrink my hair, and you're right, the curl pattern is not the same with that method.
I have very wavy hair (it's curly at the bottom, but smooth(ish) at the top) and I have the exact same problem. The longer my hair, the more it curls. So now I can't wear braids or buns anymore. Except when I know I'm going to wash my hair
Thanks for the great tips. I’ve been struggling since my hair has grown back from chemotherapy. I’ve gone from straight blonde hair to brown ringlets. And I have ZERO idea of how to care for them.
Just sleep normally like you always have. Get you a spray bottle and put warm water in it and tad bit of leave in conditioner and spray your hair until it's really damp and scrunch , add a tiny bit of whatever styling products you use and scrunch and go. That's really the best way to get your curls back. I've tried all these sleeping methods and my curls are still half gone, frizzy and crazy looking when I wake up. Just hit it with water and scrunch and it's all good again
Love finding new long curly hair gals on here! 👯 The silk pillow case is my favorite method, and the silk turban second. Keep up the curly hair tutorials!
I always just 'refresh' my curls after this cause I workout a lot and have the same problem but CANNOT do it with my hair down😂 I just spray my hair with a little leave in conditioner mixed in with water in a spray bottle to dampen it, then a little gel and diffuse and it kinda replenishes the root a little more
These have been helpful. I used to have beautiful curls but the past few years they've gone straighter and straighter. I'm on my "journey" to get them back. :)
You should do a video on dying your hair. I really want to dye my hair when it gets a bit longer but am scared it will ruin my curls but it didnt seem to hurt your curls so if you could talk about that and how it affected your hair that would be super helpful. Thanks!
Juanita Arbizu hey! I know you didn't ask me lol, but my hair is curly, and I bleached it and dyed it blue. It does stretch out the curls a little, but my hair isn't really damaged!
I only just found you and I am so grateful for this video! Thank you so much! I have so so much trouble finding anyone in real life (ie: not online) with my hair type so it's really hard to get good tips. I appreciate you so much right now x
*personally* when I want my hair ready in the morning I shower and while my hair is semi wet I lay in my bed and get my hair away from my neck. I kind of stretch them out on my pillow and while laying down i comb them with my fingers a little bit . This just helps them stay detangled without ruining my curl pattern♡
Hi! I recently stumbled upon your channel, and I've been really enjoying your videos because I'm a curly girl, except I need some help! So I've been straightening my curly hair for the past 2 years and I feel like it's completely destroyed my curl pattern. I've been wearing it natural recently , but the problem is that my roots/top of hair doesn't curl? Is this because of straightening it so much? I'd really like it to be curlier because I feel like it would look better. Do you have any tips for me or things that I could do? After I shower, I diffuse it by flipping my hair upside down (thinking it would help me get more volume and curl at the top) but it doesn't work. You have gorgeous hair!!
Ok, so basically if your hair is not curly at the top it's either straightened out which you can fix by not brushing your curls when they're not wet and scrunching your hair when you style it. It can also be oil build up in your hair so make sure the you wash out the oils (there's tutorials online) or your hair is just long and you might want to get layers so they're not laid down and instead have less weight which makes them have more volume. I hope this helped
I'm not sure if you have long hair, but it could be a result of having longer hair + the curls weighing down the top of each strand. To get more volume at the root of your hair you could try the plopping method, that way it dries "upside down" (I like using a satin scarf, but T Shirts work great too!). I also have some stubborn curls that always "switch directions" and look like a hot mess. To fix those, I finger curl them while they're still wet & that helps them dry in a more uniform curl pattern. You could try finger curling at the roots/top of your hair, or just the curls that are most visible (as in the curls that define the part of your hair). I hope this helps!
Same! Just that I don't straighten me hair for a fear of damaging it. I've straightened it like three time in my life. Anyways today I scrunched the top of my hair which I don't usually do but it made me curls look so hydrated and this was after swimming in bleach btw. You can also try to train your curls back to normal. That's what I did since I used the wear tight ponytails after showers at night so that kinda ruined my extremely curly hair hasn't been the same sense but I still love what I got.
This happened to me too! When u shower and put stuff in ur hair , while it dries , stick clips (i use pens cause i dont have skinny clips 😅) under ur hair at the roots and let it dry like that and then when its mostly dry u cam take the pens out and ur curls will have curled above the scalp not flat on it. Works like a charm! I voukdnt figure out why it was straight at the top for ages before this
Roxypups1101 I have the top that doesn’t curl either but I like it that way because the volume usually makes my head hot and in a tropical country it’s not exactly ideal. However it could be that you tie it too tightly too. Or if you kept bunning it for a while.
I need help! Every time I tie my hair back, no matter how loose it is, it always loses the curl pattern when I take it out even if it’s only in for a few minutes. How do I stop this!?
1st i hate sleeping with tight things on my head or anything that has to do with wrapping around any areas, and when i do wrap something on my hair or tie it up, my hair wakes up dry and too puffy
Maybe you can try our satin bonnet. Our bonnet have a adjustable buckle to change it's size for comfortable wear. Do you want one? Fill the following form, you will get the best satin bonnet for free.forms.gle/wZSArJYona7aCqZL7
I really like your bonnet idea. I am worried that my hair line will start to decline if my hair lacks oxygen similar to men balding due to wearing hats. Do you think your hair can breathe enough?
+Brittany Varecha as long as the elastic isn't directly on your hairline then it'll be fine :) I always make sure the elastic is a little forward on my forehead
I find sleeping on my long type 2 c/3a hair wurly hair a real pain. I have a silk pillow case which does help to maintain the curl pattern, I find the silk bonnet irrating beyond belief I am far to rough with my hair, as I become very impatient over tangles when I dry comb it I tend to pull at my hair which I should n't do What type are your beautiful curls?
Another tip is to sleep with a loose bun twisted once, but put some pins in it to make sure no hair gets out. I love it bc I find bonnets uncomfortable and it works well for me :) works best using a satin pillowcase like she did!
Hey, there ! So, yeah i have been following your videos for sometime now. So, i have got like two three basic questions which you didn't answer in this or any other video. So, firstly how to apply oil on the curly hair. I have similar hairs like you. Maybe not as soft as yours, cuz i have started to follow the curly hair routine very lately. Like, if we oil without combing the hair, we get stuck in between the hair strands as those are not detangled. And if we Comb with a wide tooth Comb it brush it then it becomes extra dry and then we oil the hair. And, I have seen and felt it that it leads to a lot of breakage and HAIR FALL. So, it would be great if you could do a video on this oiling method or else reply here, it would be of really great help. And, my second doubt is i am actually confused as to what product should i start with. Like lately i found some brands like fix my curls, curl up, wow skin science, and ash. ba botanics..... and these are costly yes. So, if you could suggest as a Beginniner which product to go for, it would be highly appreciated. I am looking for a product which works on the dry and frizzy hair and show the results as i am just gonna start, so it should actually moisturize the curls really well. Please, reply, looking forward to hear from you. :)
So I don’t know if this happened to other people but I tried to do the bun way and even before using my hair tie when I was just putting my hair on the top of my head I had just brushed it so it was nice and smooth and right when I did that it became frizzy and knotted
Thank you so much for this video I got a little problem, one of my section of my hair isn't curly just fizzy and no curls. What can I do? Please help Talk soon
I usually put my hair in braids but then they look wavy and I sometimes take showers late at night and I just want to know how my hair could curl naturally during sleep when it’s drying (mind you I’m a crazy sleeper).
Can somebody please respond to my question? okay so I usually put my hair in 4 buns before I go to sleep once a week. I usually put a cotton t-shirt over my head so that way it doesn't get frizzy. But I don't have a bonnet. what I do have is a shower cap. is it a good idea to use a shower cap as a bonnet?
Hey, my mom has straight hair and my dad has kinky hair, so mine came out curly. My mom doesn’t understand curly and and won’t but me a head scarf or a silk bonnet, cause she thinks that I don’t need it. Is there any alternative or a way to convince her?
Hey, so after u wake up, with like a bun or bonnet, do u brush ur hair? Cuz im the only one in my family who has curly hair and i have no idea how to tame them! If anyone has any tips please tell me❤️😭

_nahla esha_ I had to stop wearing braids to bed because it turned my curls into waves and sometimes I didnt want that.
Me, too. I used a real loose scrunchie to pineapple my hair up. But, I found that it stretches the curl, and I need to re-wet it in the morning to curl it back up. Braids just shrink my hair, and you're right, the curl pattern is not the same with that method.

yayy! glad i can help!
Imen Maamer sameeeee
In case no one has mentioned this: use a scrunchie to hold your hair up. It's less likely to leave a crease.
Love finding new long curly hair gals on here! 👯 The silk pillow case is my favorite method, and the silk turban second. Keep up the curly hair tutorials!
+Hillary Morrison thanks so much girly!💞
There is no going back to my hair being down when I put it up it sucks 🤦🏻♀️

Never ever dye your curly hair

+feeer24 thank youu❤❤
Would you be able to share a link for this or a similar bonnet? The only ones I've found are too small for my hair and too tight.
Thanks!
I have the exact same hair type as you! I finally found someone with my hair! yay!
I only just found you and I am so grateful for this video! Thank you so much! I have so so much trouble finding anyone in real life (ie: not online) with my hair type so it's really hard to get good tips. I appreciate you so much right now x
The main struggle I have with my curly hairs is not being able to braid it and do those hairstyles for more straight hair.
No no never try to get straight hair istg curly hair is a blessinnnggg
I do the bonnet with a super loose bun, too.

Where has this video been for all my life!! I've literally been searching for a video telling me how for at least 2 years!
I love using the bonnet... I got so used to it I can't sleep without it on lol...trick to keep it from slipping off..sleep on a satin pillowcase!
Where did you get your bonnet? I can’t find one as big and roomy as yours is. Love your hair!
Thanks girl! It’s from Walmart haha
I'd like to see one the video on diff ways to put ur hair up

Nana Mohamed i may be okay but i dont think itll be as affective

+Beatrice Elena Obreja thank you love ❤
You’re so adorable. I love your hair! 😍😍
I have silk scarf that I use but I don't know all the fancy knots so I do just like you did
Thanks for the tips!! I have a bonnet from Wal-Mart too but it gives me a headache :(
oh no! maybe try a scarf instead that way you can control how tight you want it to be around your head
Make a small cut anywhere along the elastic to release some tension
woaahhh the scarf technique really worked on my hair!! my curls look bouncy as they did the day before !! 😄😄
You saved my curls! Thank you and now I'm subscribe to your channel! BTW your second way makes you even more beautiful!
+saibirina so happy to help!! Thanks love!!❤

+Brittany Varecha as long as the elastic isn't directly on your hairline then it'll be fine :) I always make sure the elastic is a little forward on my forehead
That's an old wives tale. What happens is breakage, not balding. I hope that helps. You can put an oil on your hairline for a buffer to help.
Can we use disposable caps over night for hair???
Yeye u r back with videos
+radioactive ood ❤❤
Finally i found a video like this❣❣
Where do you get silk pillow cases from? x
How do you keep the bonnet in place
The scarf used is cotton or silk based?
You’re beautiful and thanks for the tips!
i have a “bonnet” type thing but it’s way to tight so it like hurts my head
I got mine from Walmart. I have long hair/lion mane and a big head 😂😂😂 and it's not tight
Do you cut the rubber band to open it? Because I dont find another option for these curls.
It's really helpful thank you soo much for this video ❤️❤️❤️❤️
How do you wash silk? I got a scarf without wash instructions and I don’t want to ruin it
Hi Rimi! Where do you buy the head scarf you use in method 3? Thanks, curly girl!
+Amanda Rautio hey girl! It was a gift from my friend got me from Hawaii years ago!
with the bonnet i wake up with my hair flat and all the volume is gone for some reason
Maybe you can try a satin bonnet. Do you want one? Fill the following form, you will get the best satin bonnet for free.forms.gle/wZSArJYona7aCqZL7
waited for such a video, thanksss💕🙈😄
you're very welcome love!
Awesome video thanks so much for the advice 💓I sleep with my hair in a big bun lol
Is it bad if I have a tighter bonnet with less room?
I find sleeping on my long type 2 c/3a hair wurly hair a real pain.
I have a silk pillow case which does help to maintain the curl pattern, I find the silk bonnet irrating beyond belief
I am far to rough with my hair, as I become very impatient over tangles when I dry comb it I tend to pull at my hair which I should n't do

Another tip is to sleep with a loose bun twisted once, but put some pins in it to make sure no hair gets out. I love it bc I find bonnets uncomfortable and it works well for me :) works best using a satin pillowcase like she did!

Love this video!! Going to give them all a try. Thank you!!

Does anyone know how to revive the curls after you have tied your hair up without having to wash your hair again?
You’re a lifesaver.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!
Idk why but my curls always look flat with the bonet method. Is it because i dont use custards or gel?
i have a cap thing like a du rag? could that be seen cultural appropriation? or it it okay?
Is it good to braid your curly hair when going to sleep? Seems like braids damage the curls ?!
SUMMER they make them wavy
Where did you get your bonnet????
Walmart
Hey, so after u wake up, with like a bun or bonnet, do u brush ur hair? Cuz im the only one in my family who has curly hair and i have no idea how to tame them! If anyone has any tips please tell me❤️😭
I’d like to put satin scarf on my pillow and tie my hair in a bun so I don’t have to sleep and cover my hair in bonnet 😄
We're still saying "ew" at the color brown?
Sydney McWhorter she literally just didn't want the bonnet that color. Chill.
Where can I get that satin bonnet? I can never find one that stays on my head overnight :(
+Mini Shine any beauty supply store! I got mine from Walmart
