- On the surface, Exoprimal might look like a mindless shooter, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. There's actually a ton of nuance to its gameplay and a pretty high skill ceiling for each of its 10 exosuits. In fact, I could dedicate a separate guide to each individual exosuit. But you have to walk before you sprint headlong into the jaws of a T-Rex. So let's get started with some tips and tricks to help your overall gameplay.
A copy of Exoprimal was provided to me by Capcom.

Guides aren't something I get to do often, but I do enjoy making them!
Great guide man! Have you messed around with any of the controller sensitivity settings or just using the default settings?
@drakewilliams6069 I tweaked them a bit. If something is feeling weird to you. Try switching the acceleration setting to linear. I changed it in beta when I was having trouble. I forgot to change it again in the full game and ended up getting used to the default acceleration.
@@GideonsGaming Ya I felt like I was overshooting my targets with Deadeye especially when aiming at the pteranodons but there's so many enemies on screen that most of the time you're always hitting something anyways. Someone posted some controller settings here on youtube but I felt they were too slow so I just went back to default lol.

God i absolutely loved this, you touched on key points that i want EVERYONE to know about and i even learned some new ones, thank you so much, hope to see more guides and other content!
Thanks! Guides require a certain level of expertise in a given game, so I rarely get to make them, but I really love doing so. If there's enough demand, I'll definitely put out some more Exoprimal guides!
I read the game bio on xbox market place a few months ago on the coming soon list. Wasn't interested at all and thought it would have been terrible. Im glad i actually tried the game because now im almost 20 hours in and i absolutely love this game.
I love playing deadeye, I feel like a dark souls character whenever i use his dodge ability against enemy dominators or triceratops.
Definitely, his dodge roll feels instantly familiar if you play Souls games or Monster Hunter.
I do like the fact that every suit has it's own strengths and weaknesses and there's no "one suit fits all situations" thing going on. You _have_ to prioritize what suit best works in what situation and change up accordingly.
Im one of the people who, on first glance, thought this was a mindless shooter.
Just downloaded and played with all the suits in the training area and realized oh no no there is some depth here, i better find a guide before i jump into matches so im less of a liability 😂
This guide was very helpful and well put together, i feel a lot more prepared, certainly earned a sub. Keep up the good work man!
This is so well formated, great job.
Thanks! 💗
Excellent guide my friend! I've just started playing and I am on Day 2 and just found this guide and it has helped me loads. I've just sent it to a few friends I've got to start playing the game also and it's helped them massivly too. This should be a feature in the game, so others know what to do and where to place themselves. Thank you!
That made my day! I'm really glad you and you're friends found it helpful!
Man, you did a good video. Thank you for it. You deserve more subs and views. Keep up the great work!
You got my sub.
That barrage over drive on the data cube section was disgusting
💥
Best guide I’ve seen so far ❤
This game & Remnant 2 are all I will need for the foreseeable future. Good work!
Also, in the case of PVP, utilize map awareness and knowledge of you and your opponent's abilities. Bad placement at a ledge can easily lead to a team wipe if a Roadblock comes running in with his ult.
Great job man 👍
Thanks for the tips for new players. Looking forward to future guides about the harder game modes
Definitely excited about Savage Gauntlet coming out soon!
This is really good! Thanks
Thanks! ♥
Thanks for the video I love this game
Very very helpful video for me as a new player, thanks a lot! I'd love to see more about exoprimal from you
It's one of my favorites games in years, so I'll definitely look in to putting out more!
@@GideonsGaming I'm hella stoked to hear that :)
Some pretty decent tips, I've only clocked about 21 hours into the game but there were some things here that either I've only really started piecing together or didn't even know. Like how Nimbus's warp ability can pick up team mates. I have been playing a lot of Murasama and some of the tips were pretty helpful! Keep up the good work and I would love to see more in-depth guides!
I think I had like, 50 matches in before I figured out Nimbus's holo ability, the description isn't super clear. I really enjoy making guides, so if the demand is there I'll put out more of them!
@@GideonsGaming you got my like for the vid, keep up the great work!
Additional tip for Zephr. The attack button actually has a 3 hit combo. Hit twice, wait, then hit. Your body will flash during the wait, it does a lot more damage than just frantically attacking.
Great tips
This is a great guide!
A lot of people (on steam forums in particular) do not appreciate the nuance of the game.
I would note the middle mouse (not sure what it is on controller) pings and there are voice lines specific to the enemies as well. Very useful if you're doing an extermination and need that one Petra but people are focusing on raptors.
On the Witchdoctor with Bugzapper, focus on where you can zap dinosaurs for the most effectiveness. Sometimes stunning them all as they come out is less useful than letting them funnel towards the team into a chokepoint and stunning them there.
On deadeye, his Thrust charges up for more damage, but not as long as one might think. Once your arm is glowing, it's fully charged but it will automatically fire after about 5 seconds of charging, you don't need to wait that long. Given Deadeye's focus on constantly cycling through all abilities, I feel this one is better suited to support rigs.
On Krieger, be careful not to split up dino swarms with your dome in a way that hinders your team. For example, during an extermination you don't want to be splitting the swarm into a giant circle where a big cluster is better to burst down big numbers of dinos. Using your bubble with a large dino in it will instantly break the bubble.
Something I'm not sure on;
It SEEMS like if you get hit by a big dino into a wall you will either be stunned longer or take more damage. I did once go from flying to firing as deadeye, so there may be some way to more quickly recover and avoid getting instagibbed.
Like Monster hunter, being closer to big dinos can actually be safer if you're hugging them just behind the base of the tail.
Just a little tip I found on zephyr, if you aim for the head of any carno/Rex enemies while jumping the charge move can hit downwards to allow easy dodging of their bite on the way in
Great video, please do make exosuit specific guides, in particular I an interested in deadeye!
I know I’m late but I thought it was a great video. Thought about buying it. Looks fun
I just got it today and the zephyr comments at 8:30 I took personally 😂
Love this game 👍
There's a small tip i remember from another vid about Krieger. His reticle isnt the spead of his gun. Its the amount of knockback
A helpful tip from a nimbus main: whenever you swap modes, your current magazine gains 40% increased effectiveness. Swapping weapons also serves as a good “reload”.
A flow state I like to create with Nimbus is taking the Amped Spreadshot mode that allows me to stay in the mode I’m in and still maintain that 40% increased effectiveness
I had no idea that you needed to kill x number of specific dinos to progress. The game didn't explain that and i just assumed it was based on damage. The UI is honestly so damn small and i haven't figured out how to enlarge it.
I had no idea nimbus did that with her warp
Something i had happen with VTOL mission type is going after it as the dominator and breaking it seemed to reset both teams to start over. I dunno if this was bug or intentional but it caught me off guard when I came back to my team and the kill counts where back at zero.
Luckily I haven't encountered any bugs in Exoprimal, but that DEFINITELY sounds like a bug. I doubt that's intentional. I wonder if it's something that can be recreated easily. Somewhat of a pain since you would need a dominator at during the mission type. Next time I see one, I'll try it and see what happens.
When you put enough hours into Nimbus or Nimbus A, you will learn to never reload. A good nimbus players is constantly swapping between rend and mend modes to pop of a heal or deal some damage, taking advantage of your quick swap mod. Especially with this mod, never bother reloading as is since swapping will boost your next swap.
Any tips for how to get better at energy collecting game mode ? Every time i get thrown in that my team does well for a bit and then enemy gets a dominator and completely stomps us without a chance to catch back up. I try to stick with my team and score kills where its safe, inevitably the enemy gets dominator and then the point gap is too big to catch up :C (admittedly i am not the best at pvp but i can hold my own on the other pvp modes)
Nimbus’ hologram does WHAT????? 😮
It took me a long time to figure out, but she became way more badass once I did!
Is there any benefit to max out level of exosuit? I only level up exosuit enough to open the third modules (around lvl 16) and switch to another exosuit, so far I got deadeye, barrage and krieger as my main, but struggle to find healer that I like
Well, there are rumors that alpha variants are going to require you to be level 40 in a suit to use the alpha version of it. No idea if that's actually true though.
Beyond that, you get the proficient award markers for your profile. And, the fun of playing the exosuit of course!
@@GideonsGaming I hope those rumors is not true, cannot imagine grind every exosuit to lvl 40, even getting to lvl 16 required grinding as it's not leveling as fast as player level.
I prefer to unlock alpha suits using bikcoins as current locked exosuits
I wish this video was a mandatory watch before you could play the game.
I really appreciate that. Thanks! ❤
Watching this dude play Zephyr in the pvp clip, made me scared lol
I'm watching the video and around 9 min I noticed something he killed me I was on enemy team lol first time I saw this happen in my life
How do you switch rigs mid game?
The same way, you switch exosuits. On an Xbox Series X controller it's the view button (what was the select button generations ago) In that same menu you can go down to the rigs and pick one. You will switch immediately, but the new rig will be on cooldown as if you just used it.
@@GideonsGaming Thanks; this is a great tip; had no idea you could do that 👍
It's the first thing you learn in the first minute of the game.. first section you can do anything as a player after the cutscene and character creator is an unskippable tutorial section and you can't progress until you learn to switch rigs..... you do it literly twice ?
@@byronbarrientos8471 if I recall correctly, it teaches you to switch exosuits, but not rigs.
@@byronbarrientos8471 The tutorial was 160 levels ago. Forgotten that shit a long time ago 😂
What do you consider the perfect team comp
Barrage
Witchdoctor
Zephyr
Roadblock
(Whatever you want)
Is what I consider the perfect team
In whatever you want I usually hope
For another barrage for extra meltdown
Nimbus or skywave cause they are the ultimate side healer because their heals are not passive
Murasame shtick is that he taunts then uses counter but roadblock overwrites his taunt often and other teammates kill his counter
I find murasame alpha to be a way to freeze big dino's where vigilant can do the same thing easier
Kieger is alright if no one wants to be road block
I do not care for deadeye
And I hate to play with more than one zephyr
Squishy ass zephyr
Honestly it depends on the mission, but I know that's a boring answer. Rather than specific comps, there are combos I'd rather not have. For example, I rarely want a Roadblock and Murasame on same team, they get in each others way and taunt away from each other.
I literally stopped playing murasame cause people don't understand the game yet and I've been maining deadeye cause he can deal with almost everything during a match i even manage to aggro big dinos and for whatever reason the entire enemy team 😂
To be fair. I really do think the low-level missions instill a lot of bad habits in people that have to be unlearned during the harder missions. Deadeye is a good main though, he can fill so many roles in a pinch that I'm always happy to see one on the team.
The gameplay in itself was good.
But the setup and mission structure was a good idea on paper that turned out bad.
Too much rng, and too much samey stuff breaking the illusion.
And with only one real game mode, this game failed at providing a fun long lasting experience.
It got potential, but did not know if it wanted to commit to a hero shooter, moba, og horde co-op "shooter".
Jack of "some" trades, master of none.
I do not care I’m going to punch the dinosaurs with roadblock. Roadblock is good against the enemies not the the big ones the triceratops and the other one they’re not good against the ones that are built like the T-Rex those are terrible with roadblock.
>mispronounced Murasame
dropped
Hopefully, you never hear me pronounce, Jaguar...or wash...or iron..or...it's a big list. I definitely struggle to pronounce certain words.
I thought I was pronouncing it how Leviathan does, I'll have to pay attention to the dialogue next time he comments when I switch to Murasame.
@@GideonsGaming Just joking, good video.
You’re pronouncing it Murasama when there is an E at the end, not an A. It is more of an ‘æ’ sound than an ‘ay’ or ‘eh’ though, which is awkward if you’re not accustomed to it. People say ‘sake’ as in the drink wrong for the same reason.
And don’t feel bad, Lorenzo in the English dub literally butchers his own sister’s name, but Sandy doesn’t.
mechanically its a great game sadly the visuals and artstyle and color palet and overall kid friendly theme kills any atmosphere the game can have
Kid friendly? i mean i guess but have you seen what happens if you loose a match?
On the contrary. I think the light theme makes it more fun and accessible, not just for kids, but for anyone that just wants to give it a whirl. It's literally a race, who doesn't like a good race? It brings in players that can either take it nice and slow OR players that wanna go mach 10 and speed past everyone for first place. It's like an arcade game that keeps you wanting to come back and top YOUR OWN high score! Definitely intentional design if you ask me.
What makes it "kid friendly"?
@@Xiatter its the artstyle and color palet and the basic backgrounds and the fact that everything looks like its made of bubble gum .. the complete lack of any showcase of violence they could have done way better with this concept
@@angelotrex4979 making everything accessible is exactly whats killing the artistic freedom you dont have to please everybody.. its not even about it being arcadic look at counter strike 1.6 it didnt have great graphics and it was arcady as far as gameplay but everything looked grim and moody and it fits well the genre
I gather one thing from these Guides is. People do not know how to play this yet. The right way I know it's early but come on, can I get more Wins😂❤
I think the low-level easy missions teach people a lot of bad habits they have to unlearn during the harder missions. And unlearning habits can be tough.
This game is so bad.
You went out of your way to comment on a guide video that the game is bad? You should probably invest that energy into games you enjoy rather than games you don't like or aren't playing.
