That how was my dad too when we first came to US as legal immigrant my dad know how to fix cars he did one car finish it customer gave him $100 he was happy for it till this day he remembered it.
I drive semi and about 3 weeks ago going through Alegan, MI two kids were selling lemonade but I couldn't stop. So the next week I was looking for him out at stand and I was able to stop in the turning lane. I got out and talked to him a few minutes. He said I was his third customer of the day. I didn't get any lemonade but I was just impressed that he was doing this on his own and gave him a bunch of ones. It made his and my day.

There is a racetrack near where I used to live and when my daughter was young, she set up a lemonade stand. Well there were hotels on the street we lived on that the drivers stayed at, they bought all of my daughter's lemonade just like you did with those kids. You just brought back a good memory. We had the same thing regarding color, but from the same plant in the same town, but 3 different trucks. One really light grey concrete, the next load was a real dark grey that was the color of wet concrete once it dried, and the final load was a sandy yellow color once dried. The final 25 meter long, 3 to 3.5m wide driveway had NO cuts, no lines in it for a week, and it changed width 4 times along that length, so you can imagine the cracks that formed as it dried in the Australian summer heat. The contractor put a sprayed on base for stencilcrete cover to get the color right, but over wet epoxy used to seal the cracks, and then saw cut in just 4 places along the length. 18 years later I'm still telling people not to use that same contractor due to this work
Great advice. Always charge for all work that you do. Don't be afraid to communicate with the customer. They will respect you more. I was self-employed for over 30 years. Never had a complaint. Our famous saying was, we don't know what we're doing but we look good doing it.

I bet they never thought in a thousand years that they would've made $100 all day let alone thinking you would come up and give them that kind of money for everything they had. The extra $1000 you added to the check for the roofers when they didn't want anything extra for the repairs...you have a great heart, sir. The little things you do to try and make everyone's day better...that's why I watch your videos.

Ryan is definitely a perfectionist. The kind of man I want working on my home. He could have left that joint a little off and 97% of the people would never notice. But he goes back again and fixes it even though it means more hard work. These videos should sell him out for years.
Ryan, Ray is a good employee. I know it seems like he may mess up on some stuff, but he’s a worker and never seems to be lazy. Even asks for work. And has a great attitude. Hoping the crew doesn’t ride him too hard when and if he messes up. So cool of you on the lemonade stuff. Made their day.

Those Roofers out of all the trades ( I am a cabinet builder/ finish carpenter) they hv the toughest job!
Definitely don't get the notoriety they should! I have done almost every job you can think of from pumping concrete climbing cell phone towers to working at an animal rendering plant, but roofing is a no-go for me!

We had the same thing regarding color, but from the same plant in the same town, but 3 different trucks. One really light grey concrete, the next load was a real dark grey that was the color of wet concrete once it dried, and the final load was a sandy yellow color once dried. The final 25 meter long, 3 to 3.5m wide driveway had NO cuts, no lines in it for a week, and it changed width 4 times along that length, so you can imagine the cracks that formed as it dried in the Australian summer heat. The contractor put a sprayed on base for stencilcrete cover to get the color right, but over wet epoxy used to seal the cracks, and then saw cut in just 4 places along the length. 18 years later I'm still telling people not to use that same contractor due to this work
Great advice. Always charge for all work that you do. Don't be afraid to communicate with the customer. They will respect you more. I was self-employed for over 30 years. Never had a complaint. Our famous saying was, we don't know what we're doing but we look good doing it.
