- So one day I ordered these Kangaroo shoes aka super human shoes to run super fast in. I opened the box up and then ran in them and played basketball in them.

I noticed a problem when he's walking/running... making a V shape with your feet is a bad idea... it's way better when they're parallel to each other. That way, they don't hit each other and you don't fall as a result 😅
That and they don't really look strapped down. It looks like his legs wobble inside too much. I bet if you'd fasten them to your legs tightly it would work A LOT better.

I'm sure you've figured it out by now, but just in case and for other viewers, the issue is that you were pointing your toes outward instead of pointing forward like how you normally run/walk. Its a subconscious thing because you're trying to keep your balance but because of that you run awkwardly and fall because one stilt hits the other from behind like at 2:09

Some people get the hang of them straight away, I've had folks on mine do exactly that.
Also about ten years ago there was a massive group in the UK who had there things that used to meet up especially in Cardiff and other times trained together to do back flips in gyms and stuff. Good times!

Running speed is measured by multiplying stride length by the number of strides per second. Stilts increase stride length, but their weight and centripetal force reduces stride frequency. There is no performance advantage using stilts unless you can reduce their weight to near zero.

Fun fact, what determines your speed is your ability to finish the whole running motion quickly. Your stilt leg time is like double or more....
yea but it also increases your stride, so ends up same speed basically
@@dmon9333 no. your stride does not increase at the same rate as the time you need to finish the motion.
So its always gonna be a net negative unless you build the muscles and endurance to move em at a high rate.
The stilts do none of that and probably actively hamper development of said movement infrastructure.
@Rill a good set of springy runners shoes will do that without being a detriment.

I must have had these in my Amazon cart for like 9 years. This is the expectation vs reality wake up call I really needed.
