First rule of making a tutorial on how to make a sound on a synth, show people what the sound is you're making at the beginning of the tutorial before you begin.
MPM is as awesome as always, making amazing content. But for serum tutorials and presets you gottta also check out echo sound works, mystic alankar and sonance sounds. Those 3 channels are dope especially for serum tuts!
It’s essentially a mini-moog style* bass. If you have NI Kompete, Monark can get you this sound with the init sound. Just mess with the ADSR and add an arp and you’re set.
Excellent video! This is the first video that made me even consider doing my own basses. Every time I look for bass presets I have to listen to all this wobbly, all up in my face distorted stuff. All I wanted was some basic bass sounds. You showed me it's not as hard as I thought it would be. Thanks!
This timing is impeccable, I was just listening to Blackbear's "idfc" and wondering "shit, how the hell did he make that bass pluck in the chorus" next thing you know, the newest Make Pop Music video is exactly what I was looking for lol, thanks as always Austin!
How do you make it a bass in the first place without choosing any of the INIT things from the dropdown menu? Can you clarify for those of us using Logic?
Thanks so much for your awesome tutorials. For some reason my Osc A & B didn't move like yours, lol but I learned a lot. Still somewhat new to Serum. And I'm glad I took advantage of your sale. Be safe, I will look forward to the next video.
Hey Man. Can you make a video on using Cubase Sampler and using third party plugins in Cubase. I'll really appreciate that cos there's no video on this out there! Love always!
I come from a rock music and find this modern synthesizers very complicated to learn (how to create great sounds which work in a mix and blend well with acoustic instruments). What would you recommend, where should I start and what VSTi instruments are best in 2020 for modern pop and rock music production?
This is very late, but what am I doing wrong? I have the starter noise but there practically no low end to this, especially when we started adding OSC B. I have done everything right, even down to the exact numbers you put rather than estimating. How do i stop this ️
Heyy hi man..can u please make a video only dedicated to harmony production..I mean I can sing harmonies but i dont know how to process it or produce it and dont know any tips to sing harmonies u knw which sounds better..i usually do 3rd and 5th..but i still dont know how to process or produce to sound good..this is the 3rd time I am commenting please help...
@@GuyGamer1 i did bro...but it didnt have that much info on specific vocal harmonies..i want something specific on harmony production like what kinds of processing we do on harmonies and how to produce harmonies..u knw like 3th 5th and whateve..
ok 2 years after my initial comment, but I still don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm following all of these steps down to the exact numbers you're putting your serum settings at, and my bass still sounds nothing like yours in the video. What the hell am I doing wrong?
No. Some people swear by making everything below 120 hz mono but I don't really love that idea. I think there is a lot of valuable information on the sides with low end and I think letting the low end go across the full stereo spread can make a mix sound much wider, cohesive and open rather than disconnected.
12:34 here's the sound you'll be making
Thanks for that! We have started putting previews at the beginning of our videos since this one :D
Jesus christ thank you

Pretty much
absolutely
I was at least happy that it sounds good when I jumped to the end, in a lot of videos you search to find how it sounds and it's very disappointing...

Yeah! 💯
this is the channel i've been waiting for so long!!!!! Much love
Once again Austin, best design oriented content on TH-cam. Bless
This is awesome. I've been wondering how to make this kind of bass. Thank you!

This was a great tutorial man! I need to use this to make some nice tight pop raggaeton plucks!
Thank u so much! It'd be really great to see in detail how you're making your kick compression in a mix and place it in the song
Hey! I typically don't compress my kicks. Samples are normally slammed enough so I will just eq them most of the time to get them to fit in my track!
Make Pop Music thank you! ❤️
You inspire me everyday. Be safe!!

Great teaching skills.
This guy is the physical incarnation of pop music
Awesome video as always!
Thanks Austin, that was helpful. Can you show how to add a sample into Serum (such as a splice sample)
Great, thanks so much Austin

Kontakt, serum, maybe trillian
@@ClaesLanng yeah, i think trilian is the most beginner friendly

Always show the sound in the beginning so people know if they want the sound or not.
Yo could you make a tutorial on spicy rhodes
Could u share this preset?
If I had this when I was 20, I would probably be a billionaire right now... Who relates?
Hahahaha iconic
