I have had an issues with monitors not displaying from security camera recorder/players. The reason I had dealt with monitor default resolution. If the resolution of the monitor was too high or the monitor too new, it wouldn't display. I tried different monitors and different resolutions with success. Sometimes you can manually change the resolution on the monitor, other times you have to hook the monitor up to your computer to change it, then plug it into the security camera system.
Another issue I had was that the monitor wasn't automatically recognizing the signal wire type. HDMI, VGA, DVI are different inputs. If the security camera system has only a VGA connected, make sure the monitor is set to VGA after you hook up the VGA wire to the monitor. Some monitors you must set manually using the buttons on the monitor, others are automatic signal recognition. And I always make sure I only have 1 connection wire hooked up, not multiple like VGA and HDMI for example.

Solution is to try an older monitor that is set for LOWER resolution.
