Honestly, I watch the video and get the spread sheet but like... I stay and watch another 15 mins just to watch Jim and I realize Id watch him doing this regardless of what game it is the chaotic nature is just so entertaining to watch
Hes like the crazy uncle that might have something wrong with him, but he is endearing and sometimes tells you god and relevant information. Edit: Everlasting Gaze is ~5 divines.
Compared to poe 1 it matters a lot more what mods are on the waystones and which maps we use those on. Moar thinking, less alch-n-go. One problem atm I think is we just don't produce enough currency to roll maps(at least I don't). Like, you alch a map and slam 2 exalts to get it 6 mods and you get back maybe 1 ex and a few transmutes, maybe a regal. It's basically not worth making maps rare unless the node has multiple league mechanics on it(more rare enemies), and even then would only want to use stones with increased rare mobs to get actual loot-dropping enemies out of them.
Damn, I'm so glad Jim made this spreadsheet while he doesn't know where the gamble merchant is cause he hasn't interact- this is- oh okay gamble merchant, one sec.
It seems like the only rolls that actually matter are- increased rarity/quantity and the nemesis mod. Besides that making your maps difficult doesnt make them rewarding
Merry Christmas Jim. After going through the entire sheet, i can deduct that you're insane! Thank you. Play monk or a fast character, feels lot more fun
Can you test if Rarity of items found increases currency drops? I'm not in maps yet so I tested it on the beetle. 1 hour each run, had the exact same number of exalteds on 119% as i did with 245% which was 7 each hour. Regal Orbs increase from 3.0 to 8.6, including shards. Rare item drop count stayed the same, both 31 rare drops, but uniques dropped quadripled from 1-4. The other currencies drop rates stayed roughly the same but the variants that dropped shifted, could be rng. Both runs started with 1 chaos orb drop then no more for the entire test.
It doesn't increase the amount you get, it only provides a chance to roll higher value currency. If you want MORE currency drops do maps with additional content. Which basically means maps that have more monsters in them, leading to more drops.
@@Slipperyjim8 So that would explain why the overal total regal orb value sky rocketed but the exalted orbs drop rate stayed the exact same. Thank you. I am currently only in act 2 cruel but slowly making my way forward. I don't have a meta build and with spending weeks on this Mercenary I kinda feel too invested to start again, plus really hate that I chose gemling over witch hunter after seeing their buffs.
I feel you, man. Sometimes I feel that way about POE1, and POE2 has really made me miserable in a way that makes me question why I'm playing these games at all. I think in POE1 you move fast enough so that you don't have any downtime to question why you're doing the thing you're doing, so it can be fun for a little bit (or at least seem fun for a bit) and you're always distracted by the next thing that is happening. But with POE2 being so slow, you have an eternity to reflect on what you're doing and it becomes obvious pretty fast whether you're actually having a good time or not.
The GOAT. You slowing down and catching up issue could be the internet connection, experienced that myself when packet loss happens during peak hours, also was a cause of micro stutters.
i kinda agree with u .. i have to farm so many divines to get the build i want but sitting down and farming them is not reasonable like better to do somethign else with that time
I understand your frustration Jimbo, plenty of other interesting games to get into if you just aren’t feeling PoE2/1. In regards to needing to do one thing all day, just remember you are the one in control of you.
hey jim big fan! wanted to ask if you could do something like this for rarity on gear, from my experience it doesnt affect currency in poe2 but some of my friends think it does would love your take on it. the text seems a bit unclear
Weird suggestion: rift wizard 2. You have to build your character on the fly. It has the build satisfaction but it's not a farming game, I think it would satisfy part of your Poe brain without the drain as a mental break.
can you edit the ini file like we do in poe1 to get lower setting than the game lets you select but you know what dont worry about it go take a break and when the game looks fun again come back
well you have a problem with not having working build and i have a problem of making too good of a build and now i'm bored :D so try archmage spark build with cast on shock conduit, there u go now u have good build :D
@@rcane6842 You can do a multiple button version that's a lot more fun, cut cast on shock, use spark for mapping, orb and warp for mobility and setting shock/expose on bosses/tough rares, and self cast lightning conduit like a bad bitch against bosses
"Realised I don't like poe 1 or poe 2" lol The ups and downs of the grind and addiction, so hard to maintain the fun and flow without hitting the wall. Nature and some sun tends to help reset.
if you wanna farm the game then play a deadeye, broski. one button smashing through t15's is pretty enjoyable. i was a massive poe2 hater the first few days because warrior sucked but after switching to deadeye im kinda in love with poe2 lmao
I think the fact Jim already threw the towel with this game after 14 days after grinding for 8 years in PoE 1 is telling how general player retention will be for PoE 2. I'm in the same boat, not having fun, and I won't let this game ruin my holidays so I'm back on my Balatro and Age of Wonders 4 relaxing. Don't play games that aren't fun guys, its not worth it !
couldn't have worded it better than that myself, i don't like either game itself i just like coming up with builds and testing them, been having less fun in 1 cause the pieces for making builds are starting to require too much playing the game
not sure why you did this grind on teir 1 maps as it becomes pretty irrelevant very fast after you start doing t10+ maps with all the better loot drops. it really sounds like you need to stop playing as you were just complaining and telling yourself your not having fun anymore but then wheres the logic in why youre doing this grind for such an irrelevant teir of map? you would of had way more fun and alot better results doing t10 or even t15 maps for better results of this pain stakingly long and irrelevant data for t1 maps
Seems you missed some points. The T1 comparison wasn't meant to be a guide for optimal farming - it was more about analyzing the baseline differences between magic and rare maps in a controlled environment. You're absolutely right that higher tier maps would give better rewards overall. Unfortunately, as mentioned in the video, my current build is limited to around T7-T8 content without major upgrades, which became much harder to obtain after the divine orb price spike. I appreciate the suggestion though - running this same experiment on T10+ maps would definitely be interesting to see how the magic vs rare differences scale with map tier. But it's not something I am looking to do at the moment.
"Dont open chests" I swear my chest rng for exalts is better than bosses
I got from t1 to t8 in yesterday, the chest got exponentially better as the tier increased
I agree Yesterday i got a perfekt jewellers orb Out of a White Box now im opening every chest 😂
I've found TWO unique armors from a random chest while playing the campaign 😂
