    Wow, what impressive control, what technique. I hear a lot of coloratura soprano in your voice despite the fact that you do have a very nice lower register. I also like the fact that you are not afraid to use chest voice unlike some of the mezzo sopranos today. What was the highest note you sang in that aria?

      My voice is confusing, I agree :P It's a high-C at the end!

      @@annatrombetta That's great. You do not appear to be at the end of your range there. On what basis did you elect not to sing Soprano roles because you could do many of them it would seem. For example, I would love to hear you do Butterfly, Tosca, Boheme. Have you ever tried any of the Soprano arias from those, or the duets? I love Puccini. I think you have a little of the very young Renata Tebaldi in your voice before she retooled and became more dramatic. BTW, I listened to your video about the Habanera from Carmen. It would be great to hear you do it especially to hear the chest voice.

      @@jphubert I was a soprano for a while, and it all seemed to sit slightly too high. My highest note is an E-flat, but I can't really sustain anything higher than C-sharp. The roles in the lyric mezzo also appeal to me more, and I feel I relate to them more than I anythign I was singing as a light lyric soprano. (I'm flattered you think so about the Tebaldi likeness! ☺)

      @@annatrombetta That's very interesting. I would still love to hear you sing the Un bel dì, vedremo from Madame Butterfly. I think it would suit your voice. I have the full length version by Cossotto and Bergonzi which is a classic. I also have it with Mirella Freni and Luciano Pavarotti. As much as I love Freni and Pavarotti, I prefer Cossotto's interpretation of the role. Tebaldi also sang it with Bergonzi, but I don't have the full opera. I would love to hear you sing some of Puccini's best long melodic lines which I think would showcase your voice. You have excellent squillo on many notes which is so important in the lyric/romantic repertoire, especially with Puccini and Gounod (Romeo et Juliette), among others.
