I recently picked up this deck too, and I love it! While I didn’t know much about the Witcher universe, I was initially drawn to the art style and fantasy elements of this Tarot. Your video inspired me to read the original books, and I can’t tell you how much fun it has been reading them through the lens of the cards and their character archetypes. Thank you for such a thorough and detailed review- your knowledge and enthusiasm for Tarot and the Witcher is infectious! 😊
Loved this review! I just bought the deck for myself! ❤ I definitely believe this is a Witcher inspired deck! It’s odd that you can’t find anyone else talking about how it is inspired from the Witcher universe. I’m so glad I found your channel! ❤
Yesss, thank you! The relation is clear as day when you know the Witcher universe 😭 I'm glad the deck is available again, it was gone when I uploaded the video, but now it seems to be backkkk. Enjoy! 🌹
Great review. Thank you. I just ordered it. The artist, Mila Losenko, also created Tarot of the golden wheel. The writer of Witcher is Polish and the creator of Legendarium tarot is Russian. My guess is that you see the connection because both are based on Slavic legends and fairytales.
Awesome, glad you got it! The looks are pretty clearly based on the characters of Witcher, and also some of the names of the cards. So it's not definitely not just a coincidence because they're both Slavic. Knowing the background stories of the characters (e.g. the Vampire in Witcher) also provides more context for the cards (the Vampire is the Hermit in the deck). So to understand the deck it definitely helps to know the Witcher universe.
