I decided to farm this for the first time after watching this and the spawns video and got it after 4 hours of lapping around Draenor last night. My friends seem to hate me now :')
Ah shoot, I forgot to mention a con of getting this will result in zero froends! It escapes my mind because you would need friends to begin with... gz though!
I can not thank you enough for this guide. You gave me all the information I needed to hold my head high and keep going. I used your 4 portals tip, One zone doing laps. avoided the 48 hour deadzone. And I got mine at 12:50 am chromie time WM off in SMV. and the craaazy thing is At that moment I was actually reeeeaaalllly getting over the farm. and was just gonna commit to one character. but I randomly after about 50 laps on that one toon I was like "hmm man fuck lemme check the other toons." and literally logged in right in front of a already spawned portal. right before tues. after almost missing it due to what I said I was going to do. I really owe it to this guide (and luck) that I got it. and yes I almost pissed myself.
5:16 Not just level 50, you need to be between 10 and 47, if you level up to 48 you will no longer be able to have chromie time as an option and you'll be treated as a max level character for this, so ideally you'll want to be level 40-47 to unlock max flying speed to get to spawn location faster, and that's it!
Well, as a trivia, as a level 48 you can abandon SL invitation quest in front of Chromie and with lightning reflexes click Chromie and pick Iron Horde. You have like 5-8 seconds until the quest is auto-up again :)
Just a question, does the zone need to be permanently phased in in order for the portal to appear? because if so, the portal might not spawn at all, 48 hours while the zone is phased with players seems impossible.
Do they also not spawn until 48 hours after a maintenance? Example. Servers went down Tuesday for a patch. SO wait 24 hours. Then 2 days later (today) they should spawn. But what if servers went down for an hour today as well?
How does the macro work? I've seen the announcement pop up in chat - does that mean one of the portals has spawned anywhere in Draenor? Do you have to start flying around to all the spawn points to find it after that message pops?
Sorry late on commenting but i had a question and want to know if anyone might have a answer i know trial characters used to work and i know they cant loot the mount anymore but are they still able to see the portals ? and also is there a level limit or any objectives need to be done to see the portals ?
I found it on my lvl 30 - I can't click the egg - i know it will goto my mailbox however do I just hearth out or just wait for the mail to pop up? there is no exit to get out of here :x
Great tips! I just got the mount this morning in Shadowmoon Valley. I'm on a North American server and just wanted to comment that I almost didn't see the portal. It was on the ground, but it was not well defined -- i.e. no pinkish pillars on the side like it's been shown on several videos. It also appeared taller and more transparent. If I had been too far away, I might have missed it. I got the mount after I decided to add a character in warmode, and on that character's first trip around the rise, there it was! This was not in Chromie time, just fyi, and was mid-morning on a Sunday on a low population server April 2024.
question if no player is in the other zones and it soft ¨resets¨ is it the 48 hours i gotta wait in that zone for the portal to have a change of appreing
Yeah. Only Shadowmoon Valley doesn't reset. The zone needs to be up for 48hrs before portals spawn. The add-on NPC Timer can help show how long a zone has been up
The macro pops up if you mouse over onto the portal's item description as well, for example, in All The Things mini list /attmini, when you mouse over "Edge of Reality", it yells out. I was so excited when it first happened :))

I am doing chromie time character per each zone war mode and pve but I have to say I see max level characters in there a lot

How do you use the npc timer to show if the zone has reseted or not and also are you doing laps around one zone of draenor or the entire thing?

War Mode On and Off both have exact same timers. In this instance it is what ever you prefer.

If camping in a party will everybody get the mount? Or only the person that clicks the portal?

Currently Yes. But I imagine this will change in the future.

Low pop RP realm, Chromie Time WM ON wait for max 8 hours or 2 hours, becuase if it respawns by itself next spawn will happen in 2 hours.
