- I've always said that Takumi would be a top tier unit in Conquest. So how exaclty would I make it so he actually joins the Nohrian army?

Since theres a few comments about this, I should clarify that the requirement being overly-complicated (and outright unfair) was the goal. From a story perspective, Takumi isn't exactly supposed to be easy to convince and I wanted to replicate the absurdity of some of the older FE recruitment reqs.
This is genuenly 10 times harder than any other recruitment in the series.
I don't think Xavier or Vyland get even close to this.
can you do camilla in birthright since in the og there are not enough girl units to get all the kids if corrin marries a corrin sexual if camillas in that wont be an issue anymore

Just to be completely, 100% clear: this is NOT part of the vanilla game and just theory crafting, yes?
I agree that having Niles capture Takumi or Azura talk to him are some solid concepts for a Takumi recruitment, but if we're going for something to match the outrageous recruitments of the older FE games...
Corrin talks to Hinata and Oboro to turn them into green units, who then move to be adjacent to Takumi, and only then can Corrin/Azura talk to him to recruit. Just winning over his retainers isn't enough, he needs to hear directly from them that Corrin can be trusted. Oboro does start pretty far away, but if you get her within the first couple turns and you clear a path for her, it would be possible. Definitely a lot more demanding if the enemies target them, as you now have to play two escort missions on top of a defend condition, while also being on a strict timer.
Let Takumi defeat an unequipped Corrin, as a trust exercise. They'd be left at 1HP, with Takumi holding back at the last second when he realizes Corrin is serious about not wanting to fight him. Much easier than just defeating Takumi, but most players wouldn't think to intentionally let the main character (and game over condition on Classic) get killed.
Have Corrin/Azura talk to Takumi without defeating any enemies. Or make it to the end of the map without defeating any enemies, to prove that you really don't want to fight Hoshido. On Normal/Hard, just defending for 11 turns would be easier because there's no Lunge and you can just have units wait on the defend point, but on Lunatic you'd probably have to rush someone down to talk to him Turn 2. Not necessarily too challenging either way, but definitely a bit unfair if you're only given a slight indication from dialogue at the start of battle.
While the recruitment idea with all Hoshidan classes is fun and rewards going out of your way with a potentially very strong and game breaking unit, I think a much more intuitive and lore-accurate recruitment method would likely have something to do with Azura.
We're shown signs of Takumi having some of the... issues, shall we say, that plague him at around chapter 13, but it could be possible that they're present in chapter 10 as well. From Birthright, we see him already pretty far gone, and Azura saves him by singing for him (Talking to him on the map when he spawns). I think something like that could happen in Conquest instead, either in chapter 10 or 13. Or maybe you just get the chance to capture him with Niles? And have Azura in the prison persuade him or something.
The whole paralogue chain is really fun though, it sounds crazy to even go and get kids so early, I've never played the game like that.
honestly just making it so azura has to use her sing command on him followed by corrin talking to him would be enough, since no one would think it would even be possible to use sing on an enemy unit
I think Rinka should be in Conquest it’s so strange the only time you interact with her is in chapter 11 and then she doesn’t appear for the rest of the game
Talking to him with Corrin then defeating him before he can use the dragon vein could be a lot easier and not force you to do jakob marriage
I feel like you could do something with Azura talking and singing to him, but then NOT killing him on the map. (remember he has a anankos fueled headacke) It'd add the challenge of needing to get to him, getting Azura out of harm's way (kind of requring Shelter with either Slias or... arthur I guess.) and then you've gotta deal with the horde of enemies surrounding your base while Azura is likely knee deep in enemy lines so refreshes will have to wait.
From there, I suppose the lore justications will have to get switched up a bit and since you face Takumi like... 3 more times, you could have him awaken in the home base, where Azura and Corrin fill him in. Of course, he wouldn't entirely believe you, but the fact is that now someone else is using his body as a vessel and tricking everyone else with it. (Anakos Magic babeyy). You'd have to get A support with him as well before you march into Hoshido, maybe with an extra cutscene with him deciding to trust them full (obviously he'd have different supports with Azura and Corrin as well.) I feel this could also tie into the fact that the Hosidians captured Azura, which Takumi wasn't aware about. A long shot either way, but hey, this mainly a hypothical.
Anyway, yes Mozu's suppoort would be the most effective but the tsundere battle between Takumi and Selena come on that's too perfect to pass up!
I think having something like just Corrin defeating him (and maybe his two retainers) would be much easier and feel fair for a recruitment

Honestly, I don't think anything would be sufficient to recruit Takumi to the Conquest path in-story, especially not by Chapter 10, without some MAJOR rewrites to the route's entire story. Unless, as another commenter mentioned, it had something to do with Azura and the Vallite curse, but even then, I don't think that'd be enough to make him face down his own country. Maybe Anankos would figure you're on Garon's side and kill Takumi early, so you'd basically be controlling the dead Takumi from Endgame? That'd ruin his supports, though...
Plus, there'd be the issue of replacing him in every subsequent map with an equally powerful generic. Like Endgame.
However, gameplay-wise, this absolutely slaps, and has the potential to be a really fun mod.

About the only way I could see Takumi joining with Corrin is if he weren't possessed at all, and if Ryoma's tactics in Cheve with fomenting a rebellion somehow rubbed him the wrong way enough that he started to question if his side was right... a seed of doubt that Hoshido is honorable would have to be planted in his mind. He would need to somehow wind up blaming Ryoma for all those rebels dying and feeling that he'd been using them as pawns to win the war just like Nohr does, and beginning to see both sides as the same. Though more realistically, that sort of insight might lead to him just standing aside and not wanting to fight Corrin anymore, having too much self-doubt to fight for either side, meaning he becomes more like Corrin in Revelations. And then perhaps he somehow finds himself in Izumo with Izana, and then somehow is convinced to side with Nohr when Izana does, very late in the game when it's clear Hoshido is going to lose the war and that Corrin's army is honorable enough that them winning will bring about peace, and that Hoshido is just delaying the inevitable by holding out. It's obviously not very likely and Takumi has to be a totally different person for it to work, but then that applies to trying to make this work at all, and in fact even Revelations didn't pull it off very well when Takumi sided with Corrin before anyone else. Even It might also help if... as an ulterior motive, he kinda wants the throne and to be seen as the wise younger sibling who would have spared Hoshidan lives by surrendering earlier, or something, compared to his older brother's Bushido and obsession with honorable fights that waste lives, etc.

This is way too much for the player to do in my opinion, just make Azura talk to him and allude to how she's the only one that can cure him of the Vallite curse
