I agree. The safe choice explanation was really disappointing because it implies that she never loved Lucas. That does not add up to what we saw over the previous seasons
I feel like saying he was the comfortable safe choice was meaning he wasn't a mountie.. he was safer than what her heart was truly feeling for Nathan, but Nathan was a mountie and that's her biggest fear after losing Jack...to me it's clear she did love and fall in love with Lucas, only AFTER she shoved her feelings down for Nathan and denying them.. then she fell in love with Lucas.. but the feelings for Nathan are coming to the surface on their own. So Lucas was the comfortable safe choice...I mean the triangle was a choice between two men. He was the safer choice for her
It’s interesting. I listened to the Lindsay Sturman interview with the Hearties Page Admins. What I believe she said was when they went to work on S10, they initially had the intention of a wedding, but as they began prepping and going back to rewatch and reread past seasons, that’s when they began to shift their direction. I was left with the impression that the actually writing for S10 hadn’t begun. It was more the prep work that leads to the actual writing. I could be wrong, but after listening a few times, that’s the impression I was left with.
And I am currently cracking up right now because one of my kids somehow changed our TH-cam to @fatcatbernie.😂🤦🏼♀️ Bernie was an old cat of ours. Gotta go change that.
The train station is in Union City. There is an outside shot of it in the show, and it has it on the building. Exactly, Lucas would have noticed the luggage! I wish I could add a picture because I took a screen shot to send to a friend. So, Union City train station. 😊

I am the same with you Kami , about feeling the same at the end 8 and how it was hard to get in line with E and L . I am reacting all the same about the end of 8 and then last Sunday’s episode !!
I Was team Lucas in season 6 Then team Nathan in 7&8 and then I got used to team Lucas again in season 9, but I also Thought that Lucas seemed to be overshadowed by his romance with Elizabeth and was Annoyed he never seemed to have any main character vibes outside being Elizabeth's boyfriend/fiancee, I know there was the business storylines but even in those he just seemed like one of the side characters. the best i saw him was the speech in "all dressed up" maybe the writers saw how flat he was getting and realised that the character wasn't living up to his original innovative and adventurous season 6 self, My other theory is that Maybe Chris MacNally didn't want to be tied to being a main character in a large portion of every episode so he could spend more time with His Daughter which is apparently why he liked filming wcth before becuase of it giving him family time, maybe he thought as Elizabeth's Husband the role would require a lot more time on set.
