The blobs of molten glass were known as 'gobs'... the clip of the paddle feeding the raw materials into the furnace, that part was known as 'the doghouse' great memories were brought back watching this 😊👍🏻

Machine tools for industry were invented and evolved with time and experience to the masterpieces that run industry today.

At 1:14 to 1:20 you will see that the red hot glass is very quickly lifted out of one mould, travels through an arc (half moon) where it is inverted and placed into a second mould. It is in the first mould that it is hollowed out, not sure whether by a spike or compressed air. So, in the first mould, the bottle is upside down, and in the second right way up. Hope this helps... I saw the process twice in the late 1970's and it was fascinating to watch.
A plunger comes up from beneath into the blank mold and shoots air in to make a blank. It is transfered to the mold side where it is again blown with air from the blowhead above to create final bottle form.

A Nigerian. The best and easiest way to extinguish is first relax your mind, put enough detergent in a bucket full of water. Drench a full thick çloth in the foam with water, immediately use it to cover the flame from the cylinder. It can go off instantly. When I had such incident that was how someone came for my rescue.

The machines don't run smoothly, things go wrong all the time, faults need fixing, adjustments need to be made and the end product isn't always up to spec' imagine if the shears stopped working and glass went pouring out over them, but no one was there to sort it? just short of 1200 degrees and the factory goes up in flames
