ive got the 2020 version. Did some serious mileage tests in all modes Eco, Mid and Sport. In norm my mileage was about 350 mile range. In Eco that went up to about 360 and in sport it went down to about 315. At best I’ve had an extra 14 miles on a full tank using eco. It’s not worth the hassle. Leave it in Mid most of the time and then pop it into sport on country lanes.
My best friend had one as his first car and when I drove it for the first time, I fell in love. This is the best car you can give a teenager not r56 but previous generation.
I drove this mini today and in sports mode it goes like a rocket amazing car

@@bardz0sz it’s going well ! I have around 42 000 km, and it’s lovely. I do miss CarPlay that I wasn’t allowed to get (it was a fixed configuration). Other than that it is a lovely car, I drive it between Belgium and Czech Republic once every 2 months and it’s keeping up very well on road.
I will keep it at least one or two years. Might consider a bigger one (maybe Tesla) if family business is starting :)
@@darkgilson Oh, that's great :) thanks for actually answering. I'm also in Europe, and driving across sometimes, considering getting a cooper S 5-door. I'd also look for one that indeed has Apple carplay haha.

@@bardz0sz it’s really a pleasure car, and it is the first one I really own. You have to know it’s limits in terms of boot size for example, but never have I believed that it was lacking power or anything.
It’s the base model (one) so the Cooper S model will definitely be fun for you !

You can get a big white digital rev counter by clicking the button on your left indicator & going through the menu :)
Did you notice the lights around the screen become the rev meter? They must have realised the other one was too small.
Charlie D Those lights always did that anyway pal. It's in the settings. If you put the lights on the driving modes then put it in sport mode it will give rev light.
Would love to know how you get test drives with freedom over there. I'm on my 3rd mini and cooper s and they won't give me a free test drive without somebody sat in passenger seat which I hate I feel like I'm being watched. Suppose they don't trust people in the UK. As a big customer they should let me have one for the weekend, so I can at least see if I want the new one this December when I change.
Can you post (or tell) something more about new DCT gear, pls? Since 2017 models it wasn't right for Mini: too slow in decreasing. Has it improved? Is the change felt more? Ty
My daughter has a new 2019 Mini Cooper S...automatic trans ...what is the red button on the selector stick? Doesn’t seem to do anything ... doesn’t have duel clutch

Had a ford st on hire for a couple of weeks.was 100% disappointing. mini all the way so much fun
Can’t imagine it was a real ST and not an ST-line. Mini’s are very much fun to drive but for maximum engagement and driving feel the ST is the better car. I own a Fiesta ST for almost 4 years now and i’m looking to buy a mini Cooper s with dct. Want a bit more comfort and luxury instead of raw engagement. Drove some mini’s already and they’re just not as fun, but still very good.

fun car my uncle drives the 2017 version but i hate that his car has not the upgraded headlights
The normal ones are actually really good to use and fit with the classic looks of the car (my opinion of course!)
Peter Durnell I agree I love my halogen headlights on mine. Sadly when I replace it you get led as standard now. Better at night I suppose.

Xerxes The Falcon different cars for different tastes. The mini Cooper s is much cheaper then the gti, if you want a competitor for the gti you should be looking at the mini JOHN Cooper works.
