I once ended up in a sword fight with the man who I thought had killed my father who I'd never met. He eventually succeeded in slicing off my right hand and my sword went down a deep pit. After cowering next to the pit, the man stood there and revealed to me that he WAS my father. I barely made it out of that situation alive. The next time I encountered him, his friend tried to kill me, but he stepped in and saved me by throwing his friend down a pit. Sadly, he was mortally wounded in the process, but I had the opportunity to forgive him before he passed away. There was good in him.
I know this is a funny scene, but all the analogies he's using to describe his grief really makes you feel for Michael and you can relate to those moments in life where you really miss somebody but feel frustrated when you dont know how to express it and everyone around you is living their normal lives and you dont feel normal at all!

I met this cute girl at a local carnival last summer. We hit it off immediately and had an amazing time. I even showed her the house that I planned to renovate for the two of us. Met her parents later that night but her mother really didn't approve of me so we had to break it off. One day, her family suddenly decided to move back to their hometown of Charleston, South Carolina. Before I even had the chance to say goodbye, she was gone. I've been writing to her every day for the past year, but she hasn't written back yet. Hopefully she writes back soon. It's awfully lonely in this new house.
I like how they use this ball for that session, I mean normally you can tell if a ball is being thrown hard, but this balls makes it that much more obvious, like how it expanded more each time stanley says know and throws it back at Michael
You gotta appreciate the poetic irony of Michael being mocked in grief counseling session. It makes me sad to think of just how many times Michael's distress went unheard. It made me realize that he never *really* had anyone he could talk to except for Holly and a few others towards the end.
Even though roy had a horrible personality and was wrong for pam in all levels, i still feel bad for him on what pam did to him. Interacting with jim everyday as if no feelings were involved and roy thinking “oh theyre just friends nothing wrong with that” but pam’s slowly leaving roy out of her life and giving space for jim. Just felt bad for him
This one guy in school was friends with a girl he liked. Over the years he started becoming really skeevy and goth and she eventually went out with another guy. The creep turned all stalkerish and couldnt take his mind off her. She ended up marrying the nice guy and had a kid with him. Years later the sociopath creep had become a teacher at the school their kid went to. Still obsessed with this girl he'd never dated, he looked out for her son ... but also tormented the kid because he was jealous of the father. Luckily the weirdo ended up dying of a snakebite.
The show, specifically seasons 2-5, really doesn't get enough credit for the deeply relatable sadness and loneliness that lurks underneath so many of these classic scenes
