Not even modern. They were always just "experimental sounds" never taken seriously. Until around the 70s-80s things took a change. But even to this day some people seem to see electronic music as not a serious thing.
Robert ΠΚΑ Happy to see you correct my statement. I am surprised that not that long ago that I made a comment not fully understanding the definitions of those words. I should've said they used to be new but are now old, that would make much more sense.
O my God...I have not done acid in many many years, but I swear this music, especially the Columbia-Princeton Centre music is bringing on a "flashback", and I paused to type this and I have 8 mins. to go! Awesome!
Thank you so much for this wonderful compilation of early electronic music. Bless you.I have been looking and looking for such a gorgeous list. I am envious that you own all those albums.
thanks for sharing this gems with us.. i know/have a few, but many are new to me, as its a big field and not easy to figure out whats good whats not. keep on!
this is great!!! thanks for this fantastic list!!! I recognize a few names.... but for the most part, LOTS of new stuff to look into! yay! very rad!!! thanks!
and if you act now by sending in $19.99 you get all this and twenty more great electronic hits that make it feel like someone is poking around inside your brain with sharp instruments, but in a good, happy sleepy way! sweet collection! i recognize some of the pioneers! it will be funn researching the others i don't know! thnx, \A/
I wouldn´t wanna say i´m jealous, ...to me that implies that i want to take it all away from you. I´d rather say i´m envious, meaning i´d like to share it. ...how about 50/50, is that alright with you ? - Just kidding, but `many a true word spoken in jest´. I was first aware of electronic music with the intro to The Tornados "Telstar" and Delia Dirbyshire´s theme tune for "Doctor Who". Then i dicovered composers like Tod Dockstader, Karl Heinz Stockhausen, Walter Carlos and Terry Riley. This along with part 2 is a staggering experimental/electronic music collection indeed. Thanks for sharing.
love the old analog sounds, my techno starts and ends with Klaus schulze. reminds me of a wonderful radio program that used to air on Australia's ABC AM radio national, 'Other Worlds' ,played a lot of these and more, exotic lounge, dusty gems, eventually got rid of of course, mainstream media becomes a deadzone of conformity and narrow (mainstream) tastes.
This must have taken forever to collect! Raymond Scott, Bruce Haack, Pierre Henry... I know several of the names here but have never found any of these albums! I'd gladly pay $300 for such a stash if I'd ever stumble on one!
I love weird music like this. I could listen to it all day long.
i love records like these. they're so mysterious.
these videos are GOLD, thank you so much for making them
Good times when these music used to be called modern, and are now classic. Joe Meek song is my favorite.
