I'm getting weird clown vibes from the The Veilguard darkspawn like Killer Clowns from Outerspace. I'm going to have to call them clownspawn in this game.
Changing the ionic Dragon Age demons to just collected trash spirits seems an odd choice. I hope there is a lore reason that makes sense of it.
The way rook joins Varic and Harding as some pointless random who was good in a bar fight is suspicious. I'm hoping there is in-game back story on how some nobody magically happens to find the only two people in the world other than Neve that know how to find the god that at the very moment appears to be conducting a ritual that will destroy the world. The limited info so far makes rook's part in this seem suspicious or just dumb. I'm pretty sure the game will hopefully make more sense.
Why are Varic and Harding the only 2 people in a world trying to stop the worlds destruction? Did Varic and Harding hide that they had located Solas finally at the last minute after 10 years since Trespasser?
It's nice we have companions as that is one of the things that make Bioware games great. However, why weren't these groups helping Varic and Harding when a god appeared to be actively destroying the world?
I don't think rook can really trust any group other than their origin group and maybe Neve's group. You can't even trust the inquisition (or former inquisition) as they appear criminally absent when the world was about to be destroyed. So far the heroes of the last games appear as big of losers as the demon and evil cult loving absent greyspawn were in the last game.
After the way Trespasser ended the beginning of this game (so far) seems a little like ... wait wtf. Won't know for sure until the game releases for us to play.

      Omg clownspawn lol
Thank you for watching the video.
I don't expect either the trailer or the gameplay reveal to make much sense just because the goals of the videos were mainly to illustrate key components of what Players will see and interact with.
To my understanding, the Inquisitor and certain select members are acting covertly because Solas and his spies infiltrated the Inquisition and found out too much. Hence the cinematic scene in which the one-arm Inquisitor stands around the map of Thedas telling the others that they have to find folks Solas doesn't know and stop their friend.
Harding makes sense because she supposedly knew Solas well. (I don't remember how but others have said it.) Varric carries the heart of the Inquisition and would've thought to be sitting on the throne at Kirkwall so he's a good undercover agent to hire other undercover agents.
I can't wait to play DAV to watch the story unravel and tie up some loose ends lore wise.

if you look carefully at solas' eyes in inquisition there IS purple in it and there have been purple eyes truthers for solas so i think it really is his eyes, his eyes are just a mix of blue/gray and purple so they went with purple. but it could be due to the new power he has or magic too obviously.

Thank you. It's definitely hard to see the subtleties of the colors in his eyes in-game so it's great to hear that there were folks that looked closer into it.

I can't take DA Veilguard seriously, the characters, Emeric/Emmrich for example and ESPECIALLY the eyeball-druggy darkspwan.. it's a joke in my opinion.
I played DAO back in 2009 and replayed it every single year at least once. I knew I'll never get a Dragon Age Origins 2, I just hoped for a better DAI... Veilguard doesn't feel right in my opinion.
The first trailer shocked me so much, the 20 minute "gameplay" felt weird..
The faces are way too Instagram and I despise it.
I am hoping that Veilguard won't look so cartoonish,instagram-like when it's released.
I want to romance the warden, he's hot 🔥.
If they'll look like that tho(Instagram filter) .. I don't think I will play the game.

Yeah, the darkspawns was really what made me wonder if what we saw was just trailer-quality or will that be in game. You think they would want the best to be shown but if they were pressed for time, I'd be concerned.

@@SaeybinUnderFire I tried to remember what they said but i couldn't so i looked it up "We're fortunate on Dragon Age to have the freedom to correct or finesse designs according to what we've learned in the past. At the end of the day, Concept Art is about telling the story of the game and we felt that the original design of the Darkspawn wasn't doing the story justice." I'm not sure who said that but I'll try looking for more info on why the change in Darkspawn

I found what i was looking for. 'Matt Rhodes, who worked on concept art for the Dragon Age series, explained in a blog post that the decision to redesign the Darkspawn was necessary for a number of reasons; besides their unsatisfactory art style in Origins, he cited the storytelling need to emphasize that the Taint is a severe sickness affecting people, and as a necessary retcon of the complex and intricate design of Darkspawn armor in Origins since the Taint is supposed to lead to brain decay, which results in a reduction of the victim's intelligence and sophistication. Rhodes acknowledged the divisive reception towards the redesign of the Darkspawn as a learning experience for the design team'

Matt Rhodes said both things I found online when I went searching for why the Darkspawn design was changed.
